The call on that final play by Mussberger and Herbsteit was PRICELESS. They went nuts but it seemed like they couldn't quite say why. I don't think the NCAA would look too kindly on them making betting line references during the broadcast. They were just making loose references like "that DIDN'T just happen", etc. Wouldn't suprise me if the two of them had some money on the game in a friendly wager. Mussberger is an NU alum and Herby played at OSU.

I don't know if it is the added weight or the knee injury still lingering, but Braxton does not seem to be the same dynamic scrambler he once was

So who's going to be the first to say that they like the green panels better than what the final design calls for?

Some follow up on the Richardson trade from a national perspective... The Trent Richardson Trade That Shocked The NFL Was Officially A Genius Move http://finance.yahoo.com/news/trent-richardson-trade-shocked-nfl-210720546.html I'm not sure if that article accounted for today's game. His stats were right where they have been, regardless. I was watching one of the post-game shows today and they were highlighting Trent grinding out the last possession, claiming that was the reason he was brought to Indy. Bullsh!t. Indy would have never traded a 1st round pick for someone who could run the clock down. Indy's offense is actually designed as a run-first system. Any NFL 1st round pick is valued at a premium, with a value rating is on par with a top 10 pick in the NBA draft. Indy was thinking it was getting what we thought we were getting when we drafted him. They just assumed it was us, not him. It was him.

OSU was a 7 pt favorite last night. I would've loved being in the room for that last play with someone who bet that game either way

^I'm not suggesting anything of the sort. Hoyer played decently well in his small sample size and, if healthy and if he played decently last night and if he wasn't cursed by drop balls (like on the first drive) as Weeden was the first two games, there would be no debate. He would be the starter. I was simply countering the suggestion that Weeden can't manage a game to the point where we can "win some games on the back of the defense." He can and we will win some games, maybe many games. Did we win last night? Are we not in first place? Hard to tell around this town.... The bottom line is that no matter whether Hoyer stayed healthy or not, we still need a franchise QB and that should still be our #1 target going into the offseason. This diety status which has been handed to Hoyer makes me concerned that we could have a Derek Anderson 2.0 reboot.

We won't argue about Weeden's issue with holding the ball too long.... but, correct me if I'm wrong, Hoyer got hurt when we were down last night 7-0 and we 'managed' to win the game, no?

Why is evryone acting like we just lost Tom Brady??

Weeden started getting into a better rythym as the game went along. He didn't get 1 single rep in practice this week, so he needs to nail down some timing issues with the WRs. But there is nothing you can do about that guy's feet. Horrible. Losing Hoyer is sad, but let's face it... he was not the long term answer. He would make an excellent #2. He just doesn't have the arm strength IMO to be an NFL starter. A few of the passes he threw last night before getting injured were flat out ugly and, I think for good reason, we have not seen him throw a deep ball. Plus, as we saw last night, he is so small in stature that you have to constantly worry about durability with him taking NFL hits. But what he lacks in physical attributes, he comes close to making up for in intangibles.... at least from the small sample we saw. If we could take his feet and pocket presences and somehow transplant them to Weeden, he'd have something to work with.

I also think that locker room politics played into Watson's departure. He would not have easily accepted a back-up role to whomever here like he did to Jimmy Graham in New Orleans. Watson was one of the locker room leaders and it could have caused a disruption.

^That's all I was suggesting. It's not like I was seeking to have my original post reinstated or argue the merits of whether it truly was as KJP took it. I've had multiple posts deleted in the past and took no issue with it

Fine. But you deleted my post on your subjective judgment that it was rude and condenscending to you.... exactly the attitude you were displaying towards me and exactly the attitude others have accused you of having towards them. Us two usually get along just fine, so I was surprised to see that you had deleted a rather tame post IMO

Never said I wasn't. I simply posted here (let me know if this is not the proper thread) to make the suggestion that YOU should not have been the one to make that decision. You could have easily referred it to another moderator to make sure that your own emotions did not get in the way. I personally didn't see anything wrong in the way I "worded" my post. It was largely reflective of your own post and attitude. JMO. And I would let someone else respond, if necessary. And, for the record, I didn't call you out by name. Out of all the forumers who have accussed you of abusing your moderator powers, I have never been one of them. I was simply suggesting a change in forum policy which, as a long-time contributor, I think would be a good idea. Don't take it personally.

A minor suggestion. If a moderator is going back and forth with a member on a topic, any decision to sanction the member (i.e., deleting a post) should not be made by that specific moderator. Moderators are human afterall. Just a suggestion. Thanks.

^^I actually think Cameron's explosion has been a surprise to the team. People quickly forget that we targeted several TE's this offseason. We went after Jared Cook. We went after Brent Myers. I'm sure there were other conversations which weren't even reported. I think they always had targeted Barnindge for that #2/blocking TE spot, and were seeking a #1 with a plan to keep developing Cameron (if he survived camp) as the #3 / back-up pass catching TE

^They use it for graduations, obviously. They also rent it out for graduations. I actually had both my HS and grad school ceremonies there. Besides that, to my knowledge, they try to rent it out for concerts and other ceremonies. Apparently, that is not going that well with the Q being the preferred destination and offering a better deal. ^^I noticed a few of those mega-churches have popped up along 77 (or maybe Route 8 ) closer to Akron. I'm not sure a mega church would be able to draw here in the City the way they do elsewhere.

It pretty much says the same thing, iirc. If anything, it was reflective of a tone set not by me. Whatever. In. I'd argue there is NO depth behind Gordon. None. IMO, given Little's inability to catch a football, we don't have any outside WRs on this squad besides Gordon. The proof is that we are starting a slot reciever at one of the outside spots.

Ohio Voting / Voter ID Law
If the report linked above is correct, the rule requires "primary residence." This is not the same as "bona fide residence." To be a bona fide resident, you can't have dual residency. But having more than one residence is fully contemplated by the term "primary residence." So.... I would be of the opinion that so long as Cincy was Randy's "fixed" residence (i.e. a place he always intended to return, no matter where work or other obligations took him and no matter how long) then he is eligible to cast a vote as a Cincy elector. I believe Ohio law draws the line at 4 years of continuous absence. If you move out of Ohio and are gone for four consecutive years, regardless of any intention of returning home, you have lost your Ohio residence.

My response seems to have vanished. Strange. I had posted a depth chart showing Barnidge is listed as the #2 TE. He is listed as that because the #2 TE in our system is primarily an extra blocker. If Cameron went down, I suspect Gray would be elevated to the 'pass-catcher' role. But losing Cameron would hurt, for sure..... just as losing any of our star players would hurt - who would replace Gordon? Haden? Ward? Thomas? Mack?

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Did you want me to tell you or not? Now I'm confused. Not about your point..... I didn't miss anything about that. I understood it each of the three or four times you repeated it. Browns depth charts are available on multiple websites. I think Ourlads does a good job of keeping an up to date depth chart - http://www.ourlads.com/nfldepthcharts/depthchart/CLE. Barnidge is listed as the #2 TE. However, I suspect if Cameron went down, Barnidge would remain at #2 (the role I think he would have assumed even IF Watson had been retained due to his blocking ability), and the team would look to Gray to fill the role of a 'pass-catching' TE.
