Cleveland Browns Discussion
He was "replaced by" Jordan Cameron as the #1 TE. If Cameron can't play, then one of our back-up TEs (we have at least two) will have to step up. Regardless of whether it was one of them or Watson, nobody could replace Cameron's production this season, so your question is kind of pointless. Watson is 32 and management obviously thought they could spend their money more wisely elsewhere. I'd think you could count on Grey for the 10 ypc Watson gave you last year. Successfully managed franchises like New England, the Steelers, etc. have been doing this for years.... erring on the side of letting go of players too soon as opposed to too late.

^Have you considered that Watson wanted to try and find a home where he wasn't simply a contingency plan? And if that was going to be his role, wouldn't he be an awfully expensive contingency plan? I have to believe that the Browns thought they could find something comparable to Watson on the open market if and when the need arises. It's not like we are talking about Tony Gonzalez.... or even someone who found a starting job on another team.

Because they wanted their 2nd TE to be primarily a blocker, which Watson has never been particularly good at. Nor do I suspect he would have willingly accepted that limited role.

^They lined up Grey in the wildcat with Hoyer split out wide one play, but Cincy called a timeout. He looked pissed walking off the field.

I can't put my finger on it, but there is something very disturbing about that picture. Does that guy have the torso of a fat boy with chicken arms and legs?? The skinny jeans probably don't help. Gentlemen, never buy the jeans which taper around the knees.

The 'Dawgs', currently ranked #3 in the NFL, have not allowed a 100 yard rusher or a 100 yard receiver so far this season. They'd easily be #1 against the run if not for the fact that teams can't afford to even try to run against Denver due to the Broncos building large leads in all of their games. Currently, we are allowing 2.9 yards per rush. Taylor, Bryant, Kruger, Sheard, Mingo, Jackson, Haden, and Ward are all arguably having pro bowl seasons. Taylor and Haden could be in the mix for Defensive POY if they maintain their current level of play.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
While he will certainly make a pitch to LeBron - contingent upon the Heat not 3-peating, which would lock up his return to Miami... at least for the last year of his contract - Gilbert already has made some significant plays. Bynum was a HUGE roll of the dice.... one only the most motivated of owners would have made. Keep in mind that no teams even bothered to try and match our offer. I also think the fanbase is seriously overlooking and/or underestimating the signings of Jack and Clark. The bottom line is that, while Gilbert is open to criticism for certain things, you can't criticize his desire to win and his willingness to spend.

And you're more thoughtful than the cwap you just put in that post. Let's stick to the facts and not what "seems" off to you. Other than through the use of stereotypes, the 'purple drank' allegation has no legs. The kid is 21 years old and a star athlete. To my knowledge, he is not on any probationary status (with the league, team, or the law) which prevents him from consuming alcohol or hanging out at places that serve alcohol. He shouldn't have to face criticism for lending his name and appearance to a local nightclub. If he was headlining a local NORML convention, I could see your point.... even though I would much rather prefer that my star athlete smoke pot than drink alcohol.

How is he going to be "tempted to repeat" the "same mistakes"? Last I checked, most night clubs don't let you smoke the ganja on the dancefloor. Are you suggesting that he should not be living the life of a hermit?

I agree as well. So what if he is listed as the "host" of a Thursday night party by some nightclub? There is no violation of league rules. His problem was never drinking or partying.... it was smoking a substance which is now legal in several states and will, eventually, be legal nationwide. The issue over this past summer, I truly believe, was nothing big at all. If it was, the league would have slapped him with the full four games he should have got for another infraction. Plus, to use a poor dog analogy, you don't want to take his 'bite' away. Great receivers almost always have a certain level of 'diva' in them.

Cleveland: North Collinwood / Waterloo Arts District: Development and News
You could be right..... but I would hate for anyone to misunderstand my feelings on the issue. I love Collinwood. I've always been a regular down there, no matter how up or down the neighborhood was perceived. But what I love about it IS its kinda 'rough edge' (for lack of a better term). I would actually hate to see it go the way of some yuppie/hipster enclave full of coffee shops, oxygen bars, second hand book stores, and knit scarf botiques. If it did, it wouldn't be Collinwood anymore.
