  1. Hey! Public sector unionism is no more "perverse" than bankruptcy, pal. Talk about sucking the wealth out of society.

Top 10 Safest U.S. Cities From Natural Disasters * * * * * 6. Dayton, Ohio Dayton holds the record for the greatest natural disaster in Ohio history, based on lives and property lost, for the Great Dayton Flood of 1913. Afterward, a major flood control district was established. The Miami Conservancy District has kept Dayton safe from flooding more than 1,500 times, according to the city. * * * * * 3. Akron, Ohio Akron's big disaster was a tornado in 1943, although details on the storm are scarce. * * * * * 2. Cleveland Besides a few storms that cause some damage from wind and rain, Cleveland hasn't seen any major natural disasters. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/top-10-safest-u-s--cities-from-natural-disasters-183608693.html?page=all

Well, FWIW, EVD.... I've never been even the slightest bit offended by anything you have ever posted. Disagreed, for sure. But never offended at all. If you take my fact-checking your posts as being offended, I don't know what to say. And I don't think I have ever used the term 'political correctness' except in response to you constantly injerjecting it into the conversation. You can feel free to prove me wrong...... (spoiler alert: this will be one of those times when I ask for proof of my allegedly prior comments and you fail to provide any). BTW, you also are notorious for trying to tie in the Nazis (see #13 and #34). You know what they say about the first to bring up Hitler....

I think it all depends on the sensitivities of a given member. I've tried to refrain as best I can on responding to certain members since I was individually called out for essentially being insensitive a month or two ago. I know certain members won't get offended no matter what you say (E Rocc, to his credit). I know some members will fake being offended (cough, cough EVD) at the slightest ribbing. And there are some that you'll offend no matter what you say if your take disagrees with or somehow discredits their own (no names please). I don't venture into the Transportation section all that much..... but I keep up on the current events section routinely and despite the constant insults from those people that can't (for whatever unkown reason) seem to refrain from opening the section, I find the discussion some of the more civil and diverse you will find on an internet forum given the topics of discussion and compared to other sites.
  5. Yes. But it is more driven by a desire to consolidate school buildings, lowering maintenance and other costs, than it is as a direct advantage in education of the students

Josh can still get yard on kick-offs, but he lost the extra step which allowed him to take it to the house. He still would be very serviceable as a gunner, but you typically want to reserve that role for players that can legitimately back-up another position if need be, and Josh really can't do that anymore.

...as long as you think even the slightest setback will be the downfall of civilization, you will get along just fine here

I think confidence matters and you can look at it two ways. One..... their confidence took a hit last night and will need to be built back up. And two.... given the way they were rolling the first two games, their confidence took a much needed hit last night

^He called "not fairs"? Did he actually say something like that? I haven't seen any quote like that. It wouldn't make sense, anyways. We didn't see "vanilla zone defenses" in weeks 1&2. The big issue last night was 3rd down conversation rate, something we did very well with in the previous two games. Smaller, quicker defenses also seem to give us more problems than the bigger, hit-you-in-the-mouth defenses

"and the Appalachian Plateau in the background" Interesting. In all the years living 'up the hill', I've never heard it called that before. But I looked it up and I guess you learn something new every day.

CO - some may have been lost in the Great UO Crash of 2013, but MayDay has addressed these very same concerns at length multiple times before. I seem to recall at least once it being done in response to your request

There is much variation. When Mayfield Hts has 3 inches of snow, my neighborhood in the inner ring might have 1 inch and there will only be a slight dusting in Euclid. I've noticed the overcast clear up as I head south towards Akron, but never heading west towards the airport.

I think the extra precipitation you are talking about applies more to the snow belt (parts of the east and south side) than the east side in general.... especially the City proper and inner ring. I've never heard of it being cloudier on the east side.

Gipson named the starter at FS (no shocker there). I think the Moffit trade fell through because the Browns were looking for a reliable stop-gap until either Pinkston/Lavao returns or Gilkey gets up to NFL game speed.... and they didn't want to trade a backup DL who they obviously like for someone who they suspect might have to miss some time early on. We wanted more than just added depth. They will probably grab a veteran on the waiver wire to fill the need if there are any concerns about Gilkey. We might also see one of the backup OT's start taking reps at G I'm concerned about Sheard being out day-to-day with an undisclosed knee injury. Has anyone heard any specifics about what the prognosis is?

Go to hear.... although chain link fences and the metroparks is a bit of a sore subject for me. They still haven't taken down that hiddeous barbed wire topped fence around most of Acacia. I would've thought that would be a top priority.
  21. Here's a guy I went to HS with. Last I heard, he was specializing in the Downtown core and surrounding areas.... http://www.kw.com/kw/agent/jakeis
  22. I'm not so sure about that. I'm a traditionalist on the gridiron, so I would much rather prefer a third (or fourth) LB over the "star" position the last two defensive staffs have featured. But the evolution of the spread has taken it from a gimmick (i.e. Texas Tech, BYU, etc.) to a focal point of some of even the most historically run-happy programs (i.e. tOSU). If you have a LB like we had in Cie Grant who can indeed legitimately cover wideouts, then running a base 4-3 might be an option, but there aren't many LBs that have his straight line speed AND agility in the open field. Given his lack of size and inability to play on the line, he really was more of a 'star' anyways. Teams have known for at least the last decade that trying to run straight at tOSU is a losing formula.... Wisconsin being the lone exception, it seems. The only way to move the ball on us is to spread the defense thin.

H..... E...... double hockey sticks!! Three of my favorites (OK, maybe not Roda, but he certainly is not on my sh!t list). How you keep Hooley and Brinda over any of those guys is beyond me. Burge made 3-deep the show it is and Zuppe was the only personality on the Hooligans who talks about something other second guessing every move made by the Browns'/Indians'/Cavs' management teams. Looks like I will be spending more time at The Fan

I'm a fan of Chud.... but he gets a big thumbs down from me for his use of 'coach speak.' I can't remember a great NFL coach who troubled themselves with it.
  25. Anyone remember the time when we had more quality LBs than we could find PT for? There always seemed to be a few studs waiting in the wings. I miss those days. Shazier is a stud, but the rest of the unit concerns me. It sounds like we are going to play in a 2 LB set most of the time. That's probably a trend in CFB due to the spread attack, not just tOSU
