  1. What would be a fair, market rate for 200,000sf? (I honestly don't know). The County is strictly required by law to have an easily accessible storage facility for hard copies of original documents, so the salt mines under Lake Erie are not an option. Maybe they could have paid less for a facility in one of the outer burbs?
  2. I was just commenting on roserob's opinion that $5/sf is not a good deal. I think he was comparing that to the more common rent/sf monthly numbers we more commonly talk about on this site

I wasn't forgetting about Slaughter. I just think that he is limited to playing SS. He is more of a run support safety and I don't expect him to compete for the FS job. He could, however, possibly be in the mix for dime back
  4. I thought rent per square foot was usually calculated at a monthly rent rate. At $1M/yr, it is less than 50 cents/SF

With the regime change, one thing that has surprised me is the relatively stable carryover on the depth chart. There's not the usual bevy of position battles. Greco was put at RG, which makes sense because he might be our best road grader, and Lavao and Pinkston are battling for starting LG, with Lavao playing with the 1's for now. The rest of the line is set with Thomas, Schwartz, and Mack. Jordan Cameron is being given every chance to win the TE job There's no debate that the top 3 WR's are Gordon, Little, and Bess. The staff will probably keep 3 out of Benjamin, Nelson, Cooper, and Norwood. I'd have to think that Benjamin is a shoe-in because he is our only downfield threat if we lose Gordon for any period of time and having a downfield threat is essential to this offense. Weeden will become only the 2nd Browns QB since the return in 99 to start two consecutive openers. Campbell will be his backup and Hoyer will look great holding a clipboard. Behind Richardson, there is apparently going to be a battle between Hardesty, Ogbonnaya, Dion Lewis, and Brandon Jackson. Two out of that group is four are likely to get cut. Lewis is a Banner guy and has stood out so far. On defense, the D-line is stacked. Taylor is at nose with Hughes and Kitchen as his backups. Rubin and Desmond Bryant are at the ends with Billy Winn behind them. They will probably keep another one or two. OLB is set with Sheard and Kruger as the starters and Mingo and Groves behind them. I expect to see Sheard, Kruger, and Mingo all with their hand down at DE at various times throughout the game. DQ52 is obviously one of the ILBs. Craig Robertson is at the other spot for now. Tank Carder and LJ Fort will make the team and might get a chance to win the job. In the secondary, Haden and Ward are back, but the other two spots are wide open. Gipson played well before getting hurt last year and is the best bet for FS. Last year's special teams demon, J Bademosi, will be another candidate. Opposite Haden, it comes down to Buster Skrine, Chris Owens, and Leon McFadden. From camp reports, Owens' veteran savvy is giving him an edge. Your triangulation skills are lacking, my man. I've never worked in Key Tower. If you are thinking of the updates on the CC/MM construction I had posted over the years, most if not all of those were taken through the grimey windows at the Justice Center.

    a) Da#n you for stealing my white sunglasses remark before I got the chance to post it b) I look much more like Lady Liberty than I do some shmuck in sunglasses and a bathrobe. I think this shot from one of my photothreads is the closest that I have ever come to showing my ugly mug on this site.....
  7. It's a BOONDOGGLE!!! Joking of course
  8. Perhaps not.... but I'm glad to see that you do read our local CBS website enough to pull out a random 'story' like this to share with us. That is how you found it, right? Just by browsing the local Cleveland media?
  9. Oh.... I suppose you were just legitimately trying to be helpful to us Indians fans by posting that story here
  10. Here's the headline to the link that is STILL up. Rangers' Scheppers attacked on walk in Cleveland http://sports.yahoo.com/news/rangers-scheppers-attacked-walk-cleveland-224426661--mlb.html When I went to that link on Saturday night, there were THOUSANDS of comments...... mostly of the racial and disparaging tone. I'll give Yahoo! credit that it appears they have eradicated most of them. But you can't stop the hate completely.... No physical description of the thugs? C'mon tell us what they were wearing and what color they were!!! Selective reporting by the MEDIA! Now you know why I left - LeBron James Sounds like the work of the "Ghost of Trayvon"! Cleveland is economically destitute. Before traveling to Cleveland for tourism consider security and if you must move about at night, you need to consider hiring a guard. If I had a son he would look like Tanner Scheppers! If Obama had several sons.... Cleveland is the next Detroit. Well what do you expect from a northern Democratic bunch of losers. Bet they were Eric Holder black kids! They do no wrong cause they're depressed. The Justice dept should investigate this hate crime. Or maybe George Zimmerman had the right idea , Look up Ohio conceal and carry laws and read the first thing you come to .This is a very dangerous city stay in your hotels clevelanders don't deserve to meet you Sounds like "The Knockout Game" or "Polar Bear Hunting" to me... and I'm correct... hate crime.
  11. I'm not holding my breath on any significant structural changes. I suspect it's mostly gonna be fan experience improvements, such as a larger/better scoreboard, free wi-fi, new concessions, etc
  12. Nice try Kyle......
  13. Yes, Yahoo..... Cleveleand is owed an apology. How about you start by putting the follow up story on your front page (as you did the initial 'story') and not buried in your sports page, which nobody visits! The one aspect of the original story which really irks me is Sheppers telling the media that when he told the police what happened, the police said "it happens all the time"......... leaving the impression that if you visit downtown Cleveland, you are putting yourself at legitimate risk of a totally random and unprovoked assault. Absent him filing a false police report, the City can't do much legally, if anything at all. But the City can throw a temper tantrum fit for national headlines. Hold a press conference, at the very least, once the real investigation is complete. Send the police report to every major outlet. Get MLB involved. This is BS
  14. The local media needs to step up and dig into this a little more. If it is what he says it is, then so be it. The story has already went national. But if this is him trying to save face for being out past curfew to drink it up and then getting his a## kicked.....
  15. Where exactly was he? And what time of night was it? I would lean to the suspicion that there is more to the story than he is letting on. Not to say that this type of thing doesn't happen.... but not so much to guys that are 6'4 200.

I like using state lines to delineate regions as much as I like using county lines to divide metro areas
  17. Hts121 replied to a post in a topic in Urbanbar
When talking about regions, I prefer smaller dissections. Here would be a very rough list: New England (Me. to northern Conn.) The NYC Metroplex (NYC metro, Philly metro, DC metro, etc.) Appalachia (Pittsburgh and its fiefdom to the south) The Great Lakes region (Upstate NY to eastern Wisc.) The Ohio Valley/Bluegrass region (Cbus may be split into this and the GL region) The Bible Belt (everything south of NoVa, including northern Fla. and the panhandle) South Florida (everything south of the Bible Belt) The Gulf Coast (Bama, Miss., La., southern Tenn, plus Houston) The Republic of Texas (including parts of Oklahoma) The Ozarks (the forgotten part of America) The Great Plains (the geographically largest, and culturally least diverse area of America) The Southwest (NM, Arizona, Nevada, minus Vegas, and parts of Utah and Colorado) The Rockies (the rest of Colorado, Utah, and areas to the north). SoCal (plus Vegas) NoCal (SF, San Jose, Napa Valley, etc.) The Northwest (Wash., Ore.)

Kyrie DOMINATED the Team USA select squad scrimmage last night. The select squad is made up of approx. 26 players under 25 years old who are being considered for future Team USA rosters. Kyrie is considered to be the only "lock" to make the team for the World Championships next year. Dion and Zeller were also invited to participate this week. Dion played well enough all week in practice to be chosen as a starter for his team in the scrimmage..... but then didn't shoot the ball very well in the actual game. Zeller had a decent showing.... nothing spectacular, as we've come to expect.
  19. Jeffrey Lundgren? Here's the thing. The stereotypical serial killers are overwhelmingly white males. There are plenty of minority serial killers but they are written off as just another gang banger
  20. ^I'd be concerned because Roby is flat out one of the best players in the country, but I think we are actually going to be deeper at corner than we have been in the past few years. In addition to Roby and Grant, there are a few new guys to watch IMO - Armani Reeves, Tyvus Powell, Eli Apple, and Cameron Burrows. Apple is a true freshman who enrolled early and really showed well in the spring game. Burrows is another true freshman who was in the conversation for best in-state prospect this past year. Reeves is either a sophomore or a redshirt freshman who the coaches like. Powell is a bigger guy who they may ultimately want to play the 'star' position once Christian Bryant moves on, but might be too good to keep off the field.
  21. The question becomes how much you want to sacrafice functionality for design aesthetics. We'd all like to see them strike a nice balance, of course
  22. Anyone hoping for a dramatic impact on the skyline is going to be woefully disappointed

^I agree because the general consensus covers too wide a geographic area to have much in common. If I was asked to define the region I lived in, it would be the Great Lakes region.... which covers pretty much everything along the lakes from western NY to eastern Wisconsin.
  25. The wifey and I went to Accent for our anniversary last night. That is the new Korean themed restaraunt in Cleveland's new Uptown development. I usually don't rave about food, but it was off the charts IMO. Highly recommended. Somewhat exppensive, but worth it. All the presentation you get at the uppity places but without the miniscule protions. We has the miso soup, the SASA fries, and the pork belly to start out. As entrees, I got the Korean short ribs and she got a sampler they offer of their entrees. Add in a few drinks and a dessert and our bill was just north of $100. It wasn't busy at all, which makes me nervous it might not be around long. The waitress said that it really picks up with their weekend brunches, so hopefully the word will get out
