US Economy: News & Discussion
I'm no Reagan hater, but it appears to me that, after a slight dip in the early 70's, the real divergence began with the recession in the late Carter years and then there is a prolonged dip until Clinton's 2nd term.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
What you saw yesterday was an experienced coach with a great game plan that was well executed against an inexperienced coach with a bad game plan that wasn't well executed. This is a game of momentum. When our defense comes out foaming at the mouth and knocking the other team around like they did in the first quarter, the offense can't supply the sedative. It looked like we were heading for a blowout, until the offense started laying terds with both bad play calling and bad execution. No, it's not that we need Colt in there. We've seen what Colt can do and can't do. Criticize Weeden all you want, and he surely had a bad game, but he still is the best QB we've had since returning to the league. Whoever suggested above gettting rid of Little hasn't been watching lately. The kid is really starting to play. He hasn't had a drop since the begginning of the season, has started to pile up the YAC yards, and is an exceptional blocker. See ya Pat. Barely knew ya

RGIII is not gonna start. Actually, I'm a bit disappointed. I wanted to see how our defense did against him. I'll bet the Skins new this much earlier in the week but withheld their decision so that the Browns still had to prepare heavily for the read option.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Aesthetic appeal aside..... I do see a use in skywalks and other interior corridors between buildings of the same complex. It's when the skywalks start to become part of some city-wide system that I start to object. And I definitely feel that the aesthetics can be greatly improved with design and a little creativity. For instance, how about some 'Welcome to Lower Prospect' type of thing incorporated into the design of any new skywalk they build here.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Cleveland hasn't had a winning record since 2007. That team was knocked out the playoffs in week 16 by the Bengals who finished 7-9. I wouldn't be talking down to Cincinnati if I was a Cleveland fan. Somebody has his grumpy pants on this morning. Relax, cochise. It's football. Sensativity is frowned upon.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Well.... we know it is going to be 8 floors. I have a strong feeling it will indeed have a 'boxy shape'.... especially when you consider the green roof requires a flat top. What part of the design to you expect to change all that much?

^You do realize that the images in that picture could probably be reproduced for not much more..... given the lack of quality in materials?

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
Correct. Geis is building a structure and then basically entering into a rent-to-own contract with the County. Regardless, first and foremost, the building must be functional and efficient. We don't need another Cares Tower debacle.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
The 58 was probably more flukie than the 23 considering Indiana is near the top in defense. They're an especially bad matchup for us. When Granger gets back, their starting lineup will go 7'2, 6'10, 6'9, 6'8, 6'3. I expect the Pacers to be one of the top teams in the East when it is all said and done.

US Urban Areas - 2010 Census
^It wouldn't include most of Medina County, Geauga County, etc. There is probably some minimal population density an area has to achieve to be considered an 'urbanized area'....... however, given some of the above numbers, I would guess that 'urbanized area' and a more common notion of what is 'urban' are not one in the same.

I like the design. Certainly better than what the county has now.

Westlake's gift to the world - Crocker Park
^Eaaaasy there, Trigger. I can probably name a hundred of reasons why this development would not be feasible in Midtown. I was just make a general comment about this board's attitude towards the development

Westlake's gift to the world - Crocker Park
Location, location, location. Plop this same plan down in Midtown and the reaction would be completely different. There would still be critics (i.e. those people would criticize anything that is built in the City), but I think most of the hate stems from the developers choice of location.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Shurmur's offense doesn't use a FB all that often and, when it does, the FB must be a legit receiving threat out of the backfield. As much as I loved Vickers, he didn't fit. Him being in the game would've tipped the other team off that we were running right at them. Obviously, neither does Marecic but I think Heckert is as surprised as anyone about that. The one thing I've always heard about Marecic is that he is much smaller in person than you think he might be.

Cleveland: Rock and Roll Hall of Fame News & Discussion
^There might be a strategy to that. You can't just pluck of all of the GOAT's and induct them at once. There are a few icons from various genres let in each cycle and it keeps the interest and enthusiasm for the ceremony up.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
The 2000 might have involved a larger consolidation. The Westlake-Reed rendering was the one I was thinking of. Re the current admin buidling, it makes sense to hold off on that. It will be more than awhile before the county will be able to relocate to its new building.

Cleveland: Downtown: The 9 / Rotunda / County Admin Development
At first glance, this looks like a brilliant move by the County. They save about $2mill per year while entering into a rent-to-own agreement for their new HQ's. Thinking about the end result, haven't we seen some conceptual drawings on this very scenario in which the AT Tower remains and there is a new build at E9th and Prospect? I seem to remember some glass building overhanging E9th a bit? No mention of 1010 Euclid?

Cleveland: Cuyahoga County Gov't properties disposition (non-Ameritrust)
Count me as not a big proponent of a hotel being plopped down where the current admin bldg sits. If there ever was a 'wait and see' lot, this is it. At least get the MM up and running first to gauge popularity and demand before taking away its only room for expansion

Cleveland Browns Discussion
The Browns are 5-3 with Joe Haden this year and 0-5 without him. Of the 3 losses he did play in, one was the 17-16 loss to the Eagles and another was the 17-13 loss to the Colts.... both of which should have been W's. He's a serious difference maker. Both of our lines are really dominating at the point of attack. This might be the best Browns O-line I have ever seen. Greco has added a roadgrading element which turned this line from an exceptional pass blocking unit to a true duel threat. The D-line has a nasty element to it. Not dirty (like the Lions), but nasty. Great depth too. All of a sudden, I don't mind Greg Little dancing so much. If he keeps playing like he is, I might even forgive another Bolt pose. It's the fungus on the shower shoes rule Crash tried to teach Nuke in the movie Bull Durham. I still think Trent is only about 85% after his 2 knee surgies. He has his strength back, but not all of his explosion and cutting ability.

Correction. From the link MH posted, it appears that it might have been built as a house but has since been sectioned off into separate units
