^^ http://www.thelittlegym.com/Pages/default.aspx - it's not free, of course, but the kids love it. We go to the one in Shaker Hts. We didn't put either of our kids in daycare either. Signing them up for these classes gave them the chance to socialize with other toddlers/infants. My son just turned 6 and still goes to class once a week - he's done gymnastics, karate, sports, tumbling, and other classes. My little girl (11 mos) has been beating up the boys in her class. Some of them can't crawl yet (or at least are not very mobile) and she treats them like they are just another apparatus to conquer. :) I think Gymboree also does something at their locations my wife has taken the little one to which is free.
  2. The kid from Georgia might be the cure at OLB. I think a healthy Patterson is a good #2 CB, but depth at CB never hurts. I would add a road-grader at guard and a true #1 WR to the list of needs.
  3. 85 feet tall or 85 feet taller?
  4. We already have a hulk of a building sitting on our lakefront. No need to make it bigger. I'm with AJ93..... I'm not anti-dome, but I am anti-this-dome. I also think a retractable roof is a necessary element.
  5. ^I thought that rumor of a 10 year promise had been debunked? It's a shame we couldn't have won one or two of those previous games. If the Charges lose tonight, the only teams in the AFC with above .500 records will be the Texans and the Ravens. It's wide open out there.
  6. 1st game this season that the defense and the offense both made plays. The offensive line was getting whipped in the first half and did a complete 360 for the second half. The rookie DTs filled in well enough and having Haden back in the lineup was huge. Gordon keeps on developing and Weeden is settling in. I'm a little worried about the injury Trent suffered. He got hurt early on and tried to play through it but it showed that he was hurt. Luckily, the staff never seems to lose its faith in Hardestly and, for once, it paid off. Marecic needs to go. Lavao and Young too.

Get a comfort bike so your riding position is more upright. Most have some shock absorption in the seat as well

My workout regimen changes in the winter. I have a stationary bike and a rower, and use the time to catch up on some weight training. In the warmer months, I rely almost exclusively on my bike. I still will ride if it is somewhere close to 50 or above. When it is that cold, it really is the first 5-10 minutes which you have to deal with. Once you warm up, your body can take the cold. But that first bit of wind can sting on a cold day. I bought some decent layering from costco for both top and bottom and it is much, much cheaper than anything you will find in a bike shop. I think it is this - http://www.amazon.com/dp/B00512YCT2/ref=asc_df_B00512YCT22217004?smid=A2CX5V5K94P1V&tag=dealtmp52139-20&linkCode=asn&creative=395105&creativeASIN=B00512YCT2 So, on the coldest days I ride, I will wear sweatshorts over a baselayer over spandex or wool tights over bike shorts. On top, I'll wear a windbreaker over the baselayer over a dry-fit shirt over a wife beater or two.

Then I would definitely and strongly recommend the set I linked above from Dick's Sporting Goods.
  10. I am willing to listen to any suggestions that are not grossly incompetent.
  11. Can we just rename this thread "Another dumb-a$$ discussion"?

Following up on my earlier post, both of the LED lights I have are "NiteRider" or "NR" products. The one I like is the Ultrafazer 5.0. http://bicycling.about.com/od/equipmentreviews/gr/ultrafazer.htm The one that rattles is the Mako. http://www.jetblackproducts.com/products/NR5043 The rattling doesn't have anything to do with the way it is mounted on my handlebars, either. It comes from the loose connection between the light and the mount it came with. Maybe I just got a dud. The Ultrafazer is lighter and you only have to flick a switch to turn it on while with the Mako you have to push a button, but the one feature I do like about the Mako is that it has two different settings for brightness and the 'high-beam' covers more of an area than the Ultrafazer

  14. South of Cedar and East of Lee? That is all Cleveland Heights until you hit get South of Fairmount and East of Taylor. Even then, you are going more towards the Shaker-Beachwood border where Shaker is less dense. For the purposes of this discussion, you want to look at the parts of Shaker which are adjacent to the City proper where you will find much more density
  15. Maybe because a city wide approach wouldn't qualify for the types of specialized grants and funding (NIDC?) which CDCs regularly obtain? Nor could such a system be able to generate the dedication and investment of neighborhood reliant business and the larger corporations that use these donations for write offs? Honestly just a guess. Besides, aren't you always complaining about the gross incompetence at city hall?
  16. I dare anyone to break out a bottle of liquor and take a shot every time they see the word "boondoggle" in the comment section for the PD article.
  17. Reserving judgment until the Ernst&Young signage is up

I have a high beam mounted LED on my front handlebars which I think is a Nikko(?). That has worked out well. I have another which annoyingly rattles when I ride. I'll try to remember to check tonight to see which brand each light is. What I really love which I have on my bike (in addition to the LED) are these - http://www.dickssportinggoods.com/product/index.jsp?productId=11223248&cp=4406646.4413993.4418012.12855724 They are not nearly as bright as the LED (which is actually too bright IMO for oncoming traffic, causing me to tilt it at a 45 degree angle down toward the ground), but are great for riding at dusk and dawn, or on cloudy days. They won't illuminate much in front of you, but they are much better than reflectors in terms of warning oncoming traffic that you are on the road. They have a blinking option, which is nice. Very easy to put on and take off given that the strap just stretches out and hooks on to the latch. No added weight either. **Friendly reminder that when you want to search products at Dick's Sporting Goods to use the FULL name (not the just the generic "Dick's") in the web address ;)

There will be a collective sigh of relief in my neighborhood. Although my house was somehow spared, many instances of flooding occured for my neighbors when they paved over Legacy Village and the runoff created issues for those of us along the Euclid Creek veins.
  20. Ohio has its fair amount of jews. The Cleveland area is particularly well represented with about 90,000. Cincy I believe has about 1/3 that amount, but that still is a high per-capita amount. Atlanta was the city that somewhat shocked me when I looked those numbers up some time ago. It has a very high jewish population. What probably shouldn't have surprised me, but did anyway, was that IIRC New York and Tel Aviv combined have about as many jews as the remaining major cities around the world combined. Brown is up by 11 in the latest Marist/NBC poll
  21. I've said it many times, but a strength and major impediment for Ohio and its cities is that we have so many kids in the sandbox. Illinois goes as Chicago goes..... Michigan goes as Detroit goes.... Indiana goes as Indianapolis goes..... Goergia goes as Atlanta goes...... Portland.....Phoenix.... Minneapolis/St Paul..... Seattle.... Milwaukee... etc. Other states may have more than one major player, but there is much more clear of a pecking order (Philadelphia-Pittsburg.... Charlotte-Raleigh). The three C's present a dynamic unlike any other, and worse yet, we refuse to recognize it. You will never convince Cleveland that it is not the big cheese here in Ohio. I would've never guessed it, but my experiences with this board have taught me C-bus and Cincy think much the same way about their own standing. We don't share well and that causes nothing but infighting and disdain from other parts of the states and our rural areas. Keep in mind too that this is a relatively new dynamic. C-bus has just recently emerged on equal footing..... Cincy was the clear mecca of Ohio for many years until Cleveland's industrial boom. But now, at present, everything has just about leveled. When we learn to embrace and capitalize on that, our cities will benefit. Until then, expect more of the same.

It's VERY early, but this Waiters kid does not look like a top 5 pick. I certainly don't want to hear any more Dwayne Wade comparisons. This year is going to be a long one.
  23. Without giving it too much thought (which I haven't) I suppose attractions which compliment the RRHOF and GLSC would be my preference. It's not so much the architecture which turns me off. It is the concept. A large aquarium which incorporates the lake would have been ideal, but the ship has sailed on that one for the foreseeable future I suppose. Where on the west bank do you think those Coney Island esque attractions could go?
  24. I don't like it. I don't get what they are envisioning and how this development is the best use of the lakefront. It seems to me these renderings could go anywhere..... such as the plot over by Burke, Midtown, Crocker Park. Whatever happens north of CBS should be geared towards being on the lake. I would also like to see better incorporation with what is already there.
