  1. Its 'lead' is greatly (if not totally) diminished when you subtract the jail population and that portion of the population that does not have discretionary income. Then, you have to consider the lack of residential population in the immediate vicinity of downtown..... even Toledo kicks our butt in that category.
  2. The Bills have been inconsistent, but that front 4 allows them to 'play back' on defense. They are the only team that hasn't stacked the box against us. Maybe the Browns (and Weeden) would have done more against the Bills if not for the same old story of dropped passes - http://cleveland.sbnation.com/cleveland-browns/2012/9/24/3383552/browns-bills-cleveland-wide-receivers-greg-little-josh-gordon
  3. ^Joe Haden will be back for that game, which will allow the Browns to go back to using the regular defensive playbook ^^I was trying to find the best apples-to-apples comparison. Weeden hasn't yet been given the opportunity to shred the Washington defense and Dalton hasn't yet had to face the wide-9 used by Philly (not to mention their two pro-bowl cornerbacks) and won't face the front four of Mario Williams, Kyle Williams, Marcellus Dareus, and Mark Anderson from Bufallo. I also would guess that the Browns had as many drops in one game as the Bengals have had all season. Having recievers catch the ball which hits them on the hands on 3rd and 9 or the ball that goes straight through their hands in the endzone does wonders for a QBs stats.
  4. I would be very surprised if there was any significant, direct correlation. Just because they attend the games once enrolled does not mean they picked the school to be able to do so.
  5. You do. It's called Kent State. ;) FWIW, I like all the stuff going on at CSU, too. It's a terrific economic engine for downtown. And their's no economic engine quite like Division I football ;). Let's face it, light towers and academics are great--but they don't attract frat boys and their mom's bank accounts ;) That doesn't apply to mid-major programs, which is the most CSU could ever hope to be. No frat boy goes to Akron to watch the Zips play football. I'm in favor of CSU starting a program and I do think it would be net plus, but we are not talking about a Big 10 program that would bring in enough in TV revenue alone to support most of the other athletic programs.
  6. I don't think that is possible. Either you don't think of AJ Green as a pro-bowl caliber WR or your opinion of the Browns WRs is waaaaaaaay too high. Comparing Dalton and Weeden is tough at this point with such a small sample size and particularly with the disparity in terms of weapons to throw to. They both had impressive college careers. I suppose this conversation would be better to have at the end of the year. At this point, the best comparison is how they played against the same opponent - Baltimore..... Dalton - 221 yds - 0 TDs - 1 Int - 65.3 passer rating - team lost 44-13 Weeden - 320 yds - 0 TDs - 1 Int - 59.8 passer rating - team lost 23-16 Weeden would have easily topped 400 against Baltimore and might've got a win had our #1 WR not dropped three balls which hit him on the hands (one of those would have been a TD) and killed momentum. Here's the head-to-head they played a few weeks back.... Dalton - 318 yds - 3 TDs - 1 Int - 128.2 passer rating - team won 34-27 Weeden - 322 yds - 2 TDs - 0 Int - 114.9 passer rating - team lost 34-27 To be clear, I'm not saying Weeden is better than Dalton. The jury is still out on that, and if I was a betting man, I would have to place my money on Dalton given the limited sampling we have. But, on the other hand, if Dalton was on the Browns, working with our WRs, I highly doubt you would be here singing his praises.
  7. I think every team in the league has dominated the Browns since they rejoined the league. 5-13 might actually be one of their better records. That is besides the point. We were talking about present make-up. At present, the Bengals have a better squad. The main reason is AJ Green. He dictates the way that every team has to defend the Bengals. They can't stack 8 in the box on a regular basis and allow one-on9ne coverage on the outside. And you always have to account for the spectacular play, like the leaping 360 spinning catch on at full speed and then run after the catch without breaking stride he made against the Browns last year. That pass was overthrown and high. Weeden throws that and it is a pick. That's not a knock on Dalton, btw. He's a quality QB. He just has a luxury other QBs don't and that is a WR that routinely turns incompletions or short gains into game changing plays
  8. ^That's overcomplicating a very simple point. We all know the Browns would be perreniel Superbowl winners if they had hit on half of their draft picks. The point was that the Bengals won week 2 (and the two games last year) because of AJ Green. He propels the Bengals receiving corp to astronomical levels above their counterparts from the Browns. I don't see much difference in any other position group between the two teams. *Jones is very good, but Green is on a level above him IMO. Like I said, in my mind, Megatron and AJ are 1 and 1a as far as NFL receivers are concerned
  9. They look better (hardly 1000x better) than the Browns because they played sh!tty enough two years ago to get ahead of us for AJ Green.... a player the Browns front office had their sights set on for 2 years. That was the reason they beat the Browns in Week 2 and both games last year. The Browns were shaking in their boots the entire game he would beat them downfield with Haden out and the defense over-compensated, allowing big plays and completions to other WRs. We could very well be 4-0 if you sub AJ Green for Greg LIttle on our roster. Philly and Baltimore games would have been wins for sure if everything else plays out just the same. No joke. AJ is that good (just a notch below Megatron IMO). That's why it's so hard to judge Andy Dalton and Matthew Stafford, because both of them have #1 WRs that turn what could very well be interceptions into spectacular catches and touchdowns. Weeden doesn't have that WR that you can throw it up to and trust he will beat the defensive back to the catch.

The village area is actually where they are supposed to be building another phase... I never said they (FCE and its corporate web) did not build out The Village. I just was saying that it did not live up to the goals of "luxury" living they were advertising when the concept was first announced. Instead of "luxury apartments", what was built was crap...... stick frame buildings with an overabundance of siding (which was crumbling within a decade), brick veneer (which was hanging off the buildings in no time), and open-web truss flooring (which greatly contributed to the two electrical fires which completely destroyed two of the buildings within 3 years of each other). Point being, if there was ever going to be a large scale "luxury apartment" boom in the eastern suburbs, this was it. While FCE might have envisioned drawing residents from the I-271 corridor office parks and empty nesters, in reality they ended up with a transient population mostly of younger folk. Another failure of the "garden apartments" model.

If grand plans for "luxury apartments" on a large swath of land failed to meet expectations in Beachwood (see "The Village"), then they are not likely to find success in South Euclid.

^All that plus it is one of, if not the hilliest courses in the area. I know from double bagging it as a caddy on that course back in my early teens. It would not be very suitable for any large scale development other than residential and I highly doubt any interest parties would want to build out that type of development in an area already flooded with residential.
  13. To the left of where he is standing in the fifth shot is a curvy space at the southeast corner of the development (right in front of the garage). It looks like it is going to be a restaraunt and that glowing red neon design (it's not words) covers the back wall.
  14. ^That conversion was not well done from what I heard. I haven't been inside. But this development at Lee-Meadowbrook is still unique in that it is a new build. The one f'in time I get the scoop on a development and nobody pays attention :whip:

That would be a scenario where the motor spins the wheel and, yes, it would fall within the contemplation of the state motorcycle laws. What I am talking about is a motor that simply acts as a pedal assist. It is only operating to help pedal and does not operate if the rider is not pedaling. Think of it like a power streering type system for your pedals. State law doesn't appear ro address that distinction, but most states treat them as bicycles. Local laws, of course, may be more restrictive and specified to a electronic pedal assist bike.
  16. This is the same project we have been discussing throughout this thread. CH has some more modern condos, but I can't think of any modern market rate apartments. It should fit help diversify the City's housing stock nicely

^Each city's numbers are somewhat dicatated by the geography. That is probably why C-bus is the most consistent throughout because it has the least geographic obstacles. Cincy has topography and flood plains to deal with which breaks up its population clusters. Cleveland has the Lake to the north and the industrial valley / national park to the south which pretty much restricts its growth to only two directions.

^Somebody in the 5'7 - 5'11 range (height-wise) is going to be the best fit for that bike if they are buying it for communiting and leisurely riding purposes. If somebody is buying it for off-roading, then they can be a bit taller as I believe true mountain bikers like their frames a size smaller than a traditional chart would suggest.

I think, but am not sure, that if the motor (in whatever form) spins the wheel, like a moped, then it is a motorcycle but if the motor is just a pedal assist then it is a bicycle
  20. ^Freshen up on this - http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,23836.0.html - so people don't think you are arguing with yourself ;) I think most people on this board are not in favor of the demolition of the Wolfe Music building, but would be complacent if they at least kept the facade and incorporated it into the new development somehow.

^Do you mean Euclid and Ford? That is being reserved for Phase II of Uptown. I am hoping they are simply waiting to gauge leftover demand after Phase I to determine how big (i.e. tall) they want to go. I actually like the placement of the trees. The plaza looked weird without them. The trees give it a more defined area and I'm happy that they went with more mature trees than you see in a lot of new developments.
  22. I finally got around to watching the Avengers. The scenes from E 9th subbing for NYC you can pick out with a keen eye. But the scenes from public square and the courthouse, subbing for Stuggarts, are unmistakeable.
  23. Any indication as to whether Torrey Smith is playing? He played an inspiring game last week just hours after finding out about the tragic death of his younger brother. I was thinking then that the emotions might overwhelm him too much to play this week.

Measure the back stem from where the seat clamp holds the seat post (i.e. the seat post at its lowest point) down to the center of the bottom bracket (the bracket that holds the pedal cranks together). Mountain bikes are traditionally measured in inches (21+ = XL.... 19-21 = L..... 17-19 = M..... 15-17 = S). Road bikes use the same measurement in centimeters. There may be a sticker or engraving somewhere on the back stem (sticker probably not there if frame is from the 80's). I also like to measure the top post because it give you a better idea of the geometry of the bike. This measurement would be from the seat post to the front post. That would give an indication as to the "cockpit" and whether there is enough or too much "reach"...... as I mentioned above, there is not much you can do about this measurement, whereas the more traditional measurement can be worked with by adjusting the seat up or down. It looks like what you have is a road bike frame, with mountain bike tires, re-furbished to sit and ride more like a comfort bike. Interesting.
  25. I'm predicting we win two games we probably shouldn't....... so maybe my answer to your question is yes?
