NBA: General News & Discussion
For all the Dallas / big market / Mark Cuban hype, the Mavs have never been able to lure a big time FA. This is about the best they can do, by signing GSW's 5th or 6th best player to a max offer sheet

The monument is much more than a statue. There is a mini museum underneath it. Moving it would have been a monumental task, no pun intended

We don't get the MLE. I think it is because we are not just over the cap, but over the luxury tax threshold.

I wasn't thinking of him for RJ's role. More like the next wing behind RJ and Shump. Non rotation player. Insurance policy. If Ryan Anderson is getting $20mill, who do you expect to get with less than $4mill to offer?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I'm not joking here. Given what we have to spend, I would seriously consider putting in a call to Alonzo Gee's agent. I'd be happy to have him back in a non regular rotation bench wing spot. He's a good insurance policy and could always give spot duty as a wing defender.

Timo will make more than TT next year, and just $1mill less than Kyrie. Cavs were smart to lock up their core the past two summers. The cap jump next summer will be just as large.

NBA: General News & Discussion
The salaries are reflective of increased revenue. The pie is getting larger every year. Mike Conley, who is a solid player but has never made an all star team, just got nearly double the amount given to Tristan Thompson last summer, which everyone claimed was 'crazy' then.

Nicholas Batum just got $120 mill. I hope all those dissenters can now see why I was saying giving TT $82 mill last summer was a good business move. ^all of the big name FAs declined to meet with LAL. Times have changed.- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
Both of those cities have 4 teams now, right? I'd say those are legit droughts. That said, the 'misery' index has to be the highest in Buffalo, especially with a potential move of the Bills constantly hanging over its head.- Cleveland Guardians Discussion
The Tribe's starting rotation will make less than half in salary this year what Justin Verlander will make alone.- Cleveland Guardians Discussion

Delly is a coach and player favorite even more than he is a fan favorite. You heard what LeBron said about him. Recall that his play from this past year relegated Mo Williams, who had a 50 point game the season before and was in the starting lineup when Ky was injured at the beginning of the season, to the end of the bench and out of the rotation. He went cold in the playoffs, but still had a very good season overall. There were many games in which he played the crunch time minutes in close games, showing what the coaching staff thought of him. I see Kay Felder as a good gamble. If he was 3 inches taller, he might have been a first round pick. The Cavs certainly paid a premium ($2.4 mill) to acquire him, but that was also the going price for a second rounder last night. I still expect him to spend at least one year in Canton, even if Delly does leave. Don't forget about D-League rookie of the year Quinn Cook, who is a point guard that probably would've made our 15 man roster last year if we had not signed Mo. I'm also still holding out hope that we can get a glimpse of Cedi Osman, the Turkish wing player we drafted last year, sometime soon. But it is most likely he stays in Europe at least one more year, which is OK since he is so young.- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Slow down there, Tiger. He is a roll of the dice in the late second round. No guarantee he makes the team, let alone makes it into the rotation.- NBA: General News & Discussion
Ibaka was traded to ORL for a package including Oladipo. I don't know how OKC replaces what Serge gave them, but a backcourt duo of Oladipo and Westbrook is gonna be scary athletic- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Well, the Cavs enterd draft night without a pick, but bought a late 2nd rounder to pick up this explosive little guy, Kay Felder from Oakland (Mich). He is in the mold of Nate Robinson and Isaiah Thomas (the current version). We will see if he has similar success overcoming his 5'9 height https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=58dbD_p1XKo- Cleveland Cavs Discussion

If DRose is over his injuries and plays well the Knicks should challenge the Raptors, Hawks and Heat (depending on Bosh) for the 2nd best team in the East. You have two legit high scoring threats in Rose and Melo. I do agree, it's a short term "fix" that doesn't solve their long term problem. Well, sure. If they get MVP Rose, then this is a great trade. But he hasn't been over anything in 3 years and when is the last time a player rebounded from such a long slump? I suspect there will be some slivers of hope for the Knicks throughout the season where they play well, but overall it will be a disaster and will keep them from landing another high draft pick, which they ultimately need..... especially since the top-tiered free agents have no interest (despite what the NYC media thinks/expects).- NBA: General News & Discussion
^i think that move will be to the detriment of Porzingas. It is another example of the NYC teams desperation to be relevant, similar to the Nets acquiring Pierce and Garnett a few years ago. That has proven to be one of the worst trades in NBA history. When you add on that DRose is going into a contract year, I like it even less. Either he has a great season and demands (new) max money or he busts and the team starts from scratch again. They should be focusing in building around Porzingas, not trying to build a title winner before Melo is washed up - Cleveland Cavs Discussion
