I am excited for another season of Curb Your Enthusiasm. I was a big, big fan. However, I would sacrifice that and whatever else followed what was supposed to be the finale, which IMHO would've been the greatest ending to a TV series since Bob Newhart waking up from the "dream" he had about some hotel, the cousins Darrell, etc. This is how I wanted to imagine Larry living out the rest of his life.... Look at how genuinely happy and at peace he looks. He no longer has a nagging wife and no children. He found a family who accepts him for who he is and defends him when others take issue with something he did instead of constantly piling on like that bee'yatch Cheryl. I remember watching that finale, with less than 5 minutes to go and Larry watching Cheryl dance with her new man, thinking they can't end the series like this. And then..... [EDIT - apparently none of the Youtube clip of the final scene will embed, so just go here https://www.google.com/#tbm=vid&q=curb%20your%20enthusiasm%20season%206%20finale and watch either of the first two hits] Why did they have to mess with that? Still bothers me.

Which game has he started this series in which we have fell behind by double digits? That said, if GSW starts Green at the 4, I can't argue that the defensive matchup to start the game is better with RJ on the floor. But I doubt they go that route. I suspect Green will start at the 5. I get that expectations play a factor, but if you look at the stats from Game 3, when Love came off the bench and RJ started, there isn't much of a difference. RJ played 25 minutes and had 3 pts on 50% shooting, 6 rebs, 0 assts, 0 blocks, 0 steals, 2 TO's, and 6 PF's. Love played 25 minutes and had 11 pts on 50% shooting, 5 rebs, 0 assts, 1 block, 0 steals, 0 TO's, and 1 PF. Everybody seems to be panickig about this, but I'm not so worried about who starts, especially since slow starts have not been an issue for us this series. I agree with Lue's decision, although I might've held back on disclosing that information (do we know yet who the Warriors will start?). If anything, Love might come out hot and you can ride him like we did in Game 5 against Toronto. R Jeff is not likely to drop 30 on anyone at this point in his career. If Love doesn't have it and is a liability on the court, we can always sub him out and ride whoever has the hot hand. Lue has proven over the course of his brief head coaching stint that he sticks with his game plan. He has a very steady hand.

I suspect the Warriors are going to go with the "death lineup" to start the game on Thursday, with Iggy at the 3, Barnes at the 4, and Draymond at the 5. Iggy will guard LBJ and Draymond will roam around the hoop. TT should have plenty of opportunities for offensive boards and quick put backs if LBJ and Kyrie take it at them.

^^i don't think hero ball was the gameplan going into last night. But when it started working, they wisely stuck with it. I doubt they will go into Game 6 with the mindset that Ky and LeBron will combine for 82 again.

I think the point was that Love's plus/minus was higher than anyone else's (edit - except Ky's). Channing has been beat on the defensive end like he stole something every time Lue has inserted him into the lineup this series. Love is far from a great defender, but he is at least in proper position. Lue is shortening the rotation as we near the end. The only bench players he played (prior to mop up duty) were RJeff, Delly, and Shump. Griffin isn't dumb enough to trade Love while his stock will be at an all-time career low. But WTF are we talking off-seasons trades for??? We are two wins away from a 'ship!! I didn't say it because I didn't want to jinx it, but since you did.... yeah, I'm looking for one of those JR "hot'N'ready" nights in Game 6. It's what immediately came to mind when the game ended last night. Something like 27 pts on seven 3's. JR wasn't great last night but he did fall into Bogut's knee. Game 7 is when Love explodes for 40 and hits the game winning shot to shut up all the haters.

I hope you changed your mind. Hero ball resulted in one of the all-time great NBA Finals performances by two of the best one-on-one players in NBA history.
  8. I actually think those neighboring hoods would benefit the most from the merger. Even if you are struggling with your own home, tearing down the crack house next door and consolidating the lots is a better situation to be in.

Like I said, I like the defensive matchups with LBJ guarding the 4 better. I don't agree that Love struggled on D in Game 1. He did in Game 2, but so did the rest of the team. He is just the easiest target for blame for whatever reason. I thought if there was blame to pass around in the first two game, it should have been placed on the role players, who did not show up to compete. Besides, starting games has not really been the Cavs' problem FWIW, Barkley was quoted as saying he is alarmed by the apparent tact of other teams trying to beat GSW at their own game. I mentioned this upthread. If you want to play bully ball, then play bully ball. I thought reinserting Mozgov into the rotation, albeit minimally, had a great effect. He hurt Klay on a physical, yet totally clean, play. He also muscled Curry down low causing Curry to pick up his second foul.
  10. That's a really rough stretch of St. Clair. But it still has some good bones.
  11. ^^I think part of the hope would be that the merger would help reverse, or at least stagnate, the population loss for both.

I think Love is taking waaaaaayyyy too much blame for the problems at GS. Is there actually any data that the Cavs play at a slower pace when Love is on the floor? I doubt it. It seems like there is a bit of stereotyping going on with that. Statistically speaking, our best scoring lineups have KLove in them. In fact, he is probably the best big we have at starting the fast break. He also limits the other teams offensive rebounds, which GS was gobbling up at least at the start of last night's game. I do agree that we match up better defensively with GS with RJ in there instead of Love. But I have trouble accepting the notion that Love is somehow responsible for our offensive woes. He actually played fairly well in Game 1. Don't forget that people were calling for his head after the two game in Toronto. It's a good thing Lue stayed the course. That's his style. The best argument for bringing Love off the bench is to provide some scoring punch to that second unit, not so much that he is hurting the first unit. Here's hoping that Kevin hits the game winning shot in Game 6 to close out the series. Maybe then everyone will get off his back.... maybe

^The Cavs were minus-32 in the 36 minutes Love did NOT play in GS. Coincidence? The only two home games the Cavs have lost to GS in the Finals the past two years were without Kevin Love. Coincidence? While I agree that GSW is not the best matchup for him and stand by what I said above, I am annoyed by how that issue has dominated the conversation. We get crushed in GS and all the talk, both locally and nationally, is how dysfunctional the Cavs looked. We come back home and crush GS and all the talk is still about perceived problems with the Cavs. Meanwhile, the league MVP has looked rather pedestrian, but no one wants to mention that. Perhaps our fanbase gets what it deserves.

Everybody breathing OK now? The home cooking helped... a lot. I think the impact of this blowout cannot be overstated. It restored the Cavs' confidence and rattled the Warriors at the same time. For the record, I think the result would have been the same with Love on the floor last night. That said, I do agree that inserting RJeff into the lineup, and allowing LBJ to play more of a 4 on offense, makes sense in this matchup. If Love comes off the bench, I would pair him with Frye and really stretch the floor with that second unit. The bench has struggled to score, even last night when they scored 15 points mostly in garbage time. Love might actually provide a bit of an offensive spart to that unit. But OTOH I would consider starting him, to give him an early taste of that home cooking (recall how much better he was at home vs. Toronto) and then pull him early to reinsert him with that second unit + LBJ
  15. Taco Hell. Haven't been since I was a teen, and have no plans of ever ordering from there again, but I have no issue with this project. I think it is a good fit for a storefront which has had trouble maintaining a tenant.

The preview for WarCraft was very enticing.
  19. Sure, but then all those suppliers, consultants, whatever become reliant on the continued operations of those two entities. Take Charlotte for example. It is doing just fine and the economy is booming. But if we have another banking crisis and something happens which causes BOA or WF to shutter, that would be devastating to the local economy.... Much more so than NCB closing ad on Cleveland.
  20. I don't disagree, but even in that highly unlikely scenario, the local economy would not be as vulnerable. Companies shut down operations, merge, move, etc. Ghost towns are often the result of a local economy which was too reliant on a single entity.
  21. Not at all. I do care about the size of the economy. But if you were to give me the choice of two huge companies employing 100,000 employees total or 100 mid-size companies employing 1,000 employees each, I would choose the latter. A diversified economy is much more resilient.

Pain is inevitable. Misery is a choice. - Christopher Reeve I may choose to be miserable after we actually lose. Until then.... I'll check back in when the series is over.

I've enjoyed the ride for my part. I try not to take success for granted. The Cavs loss last year is not comparable in my mind to the 90's Indians (I'm not yet ready to opine on this year, since we are still in it). Those teams were a blast to watch, but I still can't believe they didn't win at least one WS. Those were the best Cleveland teams I have ever watched. The most painful, yet also probably most enjoyable, were the Browns' rides in the 80's
  24. I prefer a more diversified local economy
  25. I'm looking for something that's would be comparable to Grind Burger. No disrespect to Scalpers, where I spent quite a few nights in my youth, but its food is nowhere near on par
