Post saved for future reference :) Thanks. Now let's get back to helping this nice young woman find the right fit for her own preferences.

Two friends of mine were beaten up in Little Italy in 1997. I also saw some kids smoking weed around Coventry last month. Just an FYI ;)

That's a fair statement (as corrected).

Cleveland: Filling in Euclid Avenue
It could easily be the most 'grand' hotel in Cleveland. I could really see that happening, especially with the first few floors overlooking the lobby at certain points.

Cleveland: Cleveland Critical Mass (Group Bicycling)
Question: If I ride the rapid to TC, can I walk my bike through the Avenue to get up to Public Square? If not, how does that work?

In the interest of full disclosure :| Disturbance Lakewood police received a call around 2 a.m. March 18 about a woman being beat up by several men near Madison and Wyandotte avenues. When police arrived minutes later, the men were gone. The woman told police that she fell in the parking lot. She refused medical treatment. http://lakewood-oh.patch.com/articles/police-blotter-assault-robbery-and-a-foot-chase To be clear, this does not mean that Lakewood is not safe. It just means it takes google about 2 seconds to pull up these 'horror stories' from about any urbanized community. You shouldn't let isolated incidents scare you off from any neighborhood you may be interested in. You need to judge for yourself. 'Feeling safe' is simply too subjective to rely totally on others' opinions because some people have some really scewed methods for determining safety. None of the neighborhoods recommended so far are of the white picket fence variety. But I wouldn't suspect you would've come to THIS forum to find such a neighborhood. But, fear not, we certainly would not steer you towards any REAL ghettos or TRULY unsafe neighborhoods.

I disagree. It is just as safe as downtown and parts of Lakewood, so I don't know how you can rule out SS without ruling out those other two.

Shaker Square is safe. Like any urban environment, there will be incidents from time to time. But why was it that you initially looked at Shaker Square? Where are you moving from and what types of neighborhoods do you like. If you want quiet and safe, yet still some activity around you, then the Cedar-Fairmount neighborhood in Cleveland Heights would be my highest recommendation in your price range. Little Italy next, then Shaker Square and Coventry. I am not familiar enough with Lakewood to recommend specific neighborhoods, but that area is popular with people in your circumstances. Bottom line, there is a lot of different options and all would be great choices. Don't feel so pressured.

Cleveland: Downtown: Euclid & 9th Tower / Schofield Building Redevelopment
I disagree. It would look worse without the scaffolding. Regardless if work is actually ongoing, the scaffolding at least gives that appearance. Otherwise, we would just have a giant, unexpalined eyesore on perhaps our most prominent intersection.

He did (see below picture). DWilliams shot 4-14 in that game, but did hit the winning shot. Texas would have won that game if they didn't get called for a 5 second violation trying to inbound the ball in the final seconds (the turnover which allowed Williams to hit the game-winner.

Pet Peeves!
Dividing the wardrobe could be interesting. My pet peeve of the day - LOL, LMAO, ROFLMAO and all of those 'laughing' anagrams. I don't use them. In fact, that might have been my first time typing them. But, what really irks me is how they are used so freely. Sometimes I really just want to reply "are you honestly 'rolling on the floor' right now?.... it wasn't THAT funny"

For those basing their complaints on taking TT because we already have JJ, how much $$ do you think JJ is worth? He is going to want $10 mill per year The Cavs don't want to pay him that. His value is high right now, so maybe we should wait to see what the return is if we trade him. I think Grant earned some leeway with the Mo trade. You don't know how these 19-20 yr. old kids are going to develop and digging your heels in now could make you look really foolish in a year or two.

Jamison will have some serious value at the trade deadline. A package of JJ and Sessions should draw some interest. You could throw Boobie in there as well, I suppose. We will get a 2 or 3 one way or the other. If anything, Gilbert's GMs have usually come out on top by bein patient and allowing the right trade to fall in their lap.

I'm actually gonna back off the JJ - Thompson comparison. They are very similar in terms of measurables. Same height, wingspan. TT is a little trimmer. I would say JJ is more explosive, but TT is more athletic. He seems more fluid in his movement. And he definitely is explosive, but that is where JJ is truly eilte. JJ is an offensive force. TT is a defensive force. TT gives you consistent effort on both ends of the court. That is JJ's greatest weakness. JJ is a face the basket player. TT is more of a back to the basket player. TT has good hands. JJ's hands suck. JJ is a decent FT shooter. TT is as bad as Shaq. JJ is a knucklehead. TT is a quality kid. Lots of differences between these two. I still think JJ will be used to upgrade the wings. FWIW, Grant says he went bpa on each of those picks

Interesting. John Hollinger, the statistics guy from ESPN, had Irving #1 and Thompson #3 in his draft rater. More interesting, at the levels he had them compared to his ratings from previous drafts, they are as close to being 'bust proof' as you can get.

Although it can't be announced until all the picks are made, the 3-way trade involves Charlotte, Milwaukee, and Sacramento. Charlotte gets Sacramento's 7th pick. Milwaukee gets Stephen Jackson, Beno Udrih and Charlotte's 19th pick. Sacramento gets Milwaukee's 10th pick and John Salmons. There may be some minor pieces I am missing. Now... this could affect us because there was talk of us taking Thompson at #4, Charlotte taking JV at #9, and then we would swap picks with something else coming our way. But it was too risky because San Antonio was trying to get the #7 from Sacramento to take JV (a REALLY good indication of his talent especially considering the Spurs were supposedly offering Tony Parker). Even if that failed, many believed the Pistons are enamored with JV and would have taken him at #8. So, essentially, Charlotte is in a better position to make that deal. I just can't see it because Washington may very well take him at #6 (he said he expects to go either to Cavs or Washington) if they can't move up to get Kanter. Confused yet?

Turns out, Stern wants the spotlight. Deals for picks agreed to between now and the draft can't be announed until after the team makes the selection and then Stern gets to announce the trade. Edit - [Deleted useless rant]. It appears that the Sac pick is part of a 3 way trade between the Bucks - the Bobcats - and the Kings. Oh well.....

Hold the phones..... we might have a trade with Sacramento at #7

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I think everything else is posturing. It appears now that our 'infatuation' with T Thompson was simply a smokescreen to entice Charlotte into drafting JV for us and then swapping Thompson for JV and their other 1st round pick (19?). Same with Kanter... it was simply to try to convince Washington that, if they want Kanter, they have to give us the 6 and 16 to get him. I think, short of DWilliams being there, JV has been their man for quite awhile. The buyout mess with his Euro contract probably caused some hesitation but I think that the Cavs have decided there are worse things than letting a 19 yr old kid develop for another year before throwing him to the wolves in the NBA. But, just curious, if we do end up staying at #4 and Kanter and Williams are off the board, who do you take?
