Snow day in Cleve's Warehouse District
Did anybody take any shots a few weeks ago when the trees were all iced over?

You are assuming that the Higbee building and the permanent site will not somehow be connected. I also think you underestimate the traffic control / pedestrian friendly measures that are bound to take effect at the Huron intersection shoudl the permanent site be built.

Governor John Kasich
"We" are the government. This still is America.... last time I checked, at least. I think you meant to say that "I" can help out far more creatively and allocate "my" money far more effectively than "we can collectively"..... which may very well be true for many people.

That's right. You can always move back from one of these "growing" areas. I did. It was the absolute best decision of my life.

I think Strap has officially stumped us with #31. #36 How are you all posting the images from google streetmaps?

I believe you are right dead on Robert. #35 is taken from W. 4th and I believe it is the back of the building on W. 6th which is attached to the Barley House.

^They do it to me every year with the military budget and other spending that I personally don't agree with.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
I'm just recalling what I remember hearing from years ago. Maybe they were built with HUD money or something along those lines, which usually carries with it some conditions for low to moderate income families. It wouldn't be much, or the juice wouldn't be worth the squeeze for the devlopers. The Bluestone loft building in Cleveland Hts, for instance, took some HUD money and carries with it a condition that 3 of the units are sold to such families.

San Francisco - September 2010
I love Frisco. Is it just me or does the building in #4 and #36 look like a mini-Terminal Tower? About the weather, I agree.... it is nearly ideal for me because I hate anything above 80. But I always found this quote from Mark Twain amusing - "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco."

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
I think the buses look sleek and modern as they are. Orange? Hell no. That would have been tacky. They might have looked good brand new, but a few years of wear and tear would have had them looking like crap.

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
Those are the homes on the side streets off Chester, no? Those were built in the 1990's and 2000's I believe. I also believe the occupants are diverse. At least some are low to moderate income families who obtained the homes through governmental programs. Judging from the the cars parked in the some of the driveways, others are owned by upper class folk who want to live closer to work..... doctors from the Clinic/UH I always assumed.

When embarking on game changing developments, something always has to come down. I hope that building is saved, but I do appreciate the concept of a parking garage with street level activity. Maybe that going up will save some other gems from coming down for surface lots.

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
You have a point there.... although that could still be classified as a failure to disclose. Out of the 100+ of those forms that are submitted each year by the various Div 1 programs, how many do you suppose are wholly accurate?

He didn't lie. He just didn't come forward when he knew. The issue is a failure to report. Tressell and OSU the institution took no part in the actual violation. He deserves a punishment, but this is nowhere near as ingregiuous as plenty of previous violators of NCAA rules. I highly, highly doubt that any NCAA coach would have handled the situation much differently. They have to turn the blind eye to a lot of things these days. But that is exactly why the NCAA is likely to make an example of Tress. And, folks, please stop with all this bowl game nonsense. The entire charade played out prior to the bowl game. The NCAA let the kids play in the game despite what they did.

Be part of the problem or part of the solution. Your choice. I hear Mexico City is still growing if that is the criteria you use to pick your residence.

I am much more interested in the metro numbers. I suspect that the majority of the inner city loss in Cleveland really wasn't that much of a "loss". I am glad to see that we are finally establishing what we didn't have in 2000 - residential areas for potential and sustainable growth in the inner city. I would rather have one stable neighborhood that is modestly populated than 10 unstable nabes flush with density.
