Cleveland Browns Discussion
Jack is off my board, unfortunately. If the player himself admits that he may need microfracture surgery on his knee at some point, you can't spend a high draft pick on him. Between him and the kid from ND, I think we are going to see the two best LBs in this draft drop like rocks. More and more buzz about possibly taking Lynch at 8 or if they trade back a few spots. Makes sense if they had him rated better than or on par with Goff/Wentz, which wouldn't surprise me in the least.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower at Erieview & Galleria Renovation
Don't know, but a pool located above another use is no big deal. We have indoor pool on the seventh floor of my condo building. It's probably not a big deal but it always blows my mind to think of the engineering involved to hold the weight of a pool on upper floors of buildings. A quick Google search says that a cubic foot of water is 62lbs! If that blows your mind, then try not to think too hard about what is being built in NYC.....

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
I have no expertise except for my own DIY landscaping around my house, but I've done the same in the past with the 'lopsided' portion of the tree to the north. Over the years, the southern exposure of the sun will even it out. But the question is why didn't they just buy well-centered trees to begin with?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^Yes I did. That's why I asked. The Heat rely on some fairly 'green' players and I have some serious doubts that Wade is going to be able to make it through two rounds of the playoffs without limping into the conference finals. I don't put much, if any, stock in sporadic regular season matchups. I've seen way too many wrong predictions using that model.

Hmmmm. Sounds familiar to what they were saying about us vs. the Hawks last year. I'm wondering who exactly is still on the Heat that played a major role while LBJ was there. Wade, for sure. Bosh is hurt. Chalmers and Anderson are gone. Obviously, Allen, Miller, and Jones all gone. Norris Cole gone. Who is "them"?

Interesting comments by Sashi indicating that the Browns have a set board and are targeting a very specific player. It seems they think this player will be there at #8, but have a contingency plan if he is not. Zeke Elliot has been linked in many mocks since the trade, but I have my doubts it is him. I'm thinking it is someone outside the 'Big 6'. Perhaps Ronnie Stanley. Jack Conklin's stock seems to be on the rise. But my prediction is Leonard Floyd, OLB from Georgia. That wouldn't fit my draft philosophy, but I wouldn't be ready to throw something against the wall either.

That does make sense. But "they have a far better chance at winning" is not the same as "there's no reason to believe the Cavs can win a championship". Not even close. OF COURSE they have a "far better chance" if Love does not shoot 3 for 15 each night. They also have a far better chance if LeBron doesn't get hurt, or if Kyrie doesn't commit 10 turnovers per game.

The Cavs COULD have won a championship last year minus Love.... and Kyrie. If they would've pulled out that game 4 against GS, I'm sure they would have. I don't see how you can say there is "no reason to believe" they can with those two on the court, even if KLove plays less than spectacular. Sorry, but that line of thought makes absolutely no sense. I'm more than happy with teams rolling the dice and leaving KLove open. Go right ahead. They will get burned more often than not. It's a pick your poison proposition, which is exactly why KLove is so integral to what we do. He can also go and has gone nearly an entire game without hitting his shots and then nails the dagger at the end which puts the other team away. I won't pretend that I can read the minds of Kyrie and LeBron, but I doubt their isolation plays have much to do with KLove's shooting percentage on any given night, or JR's, or Delly's, or whomever's. They play isolation basketball because they are two of the best isolation players in the league. It's not a good format as the primary offense, but when you really need a bucket, it's not a bad play. Think of how LeBron always used to get criticized for passing up the final shot as opposed to just putting his head down and driving to the hole.

Then don't worry about how he shot in one game in the First Round. Winning the Finals in a competitive year like this one always involves a bit of luck. For GS last year, it was running the table without a serious injury even though its roster is filled with injury riddles players. For us, it is going to take one or two of our guys playing above their level in the Finals. For instance, if JR has one of those streaks of games where he can't miss from 3 and LBJ, Love, and Kyrie all pull their weight, we will be very tough to beat, I don't care who we play.

^"a bit brighter".... Still a very tough road to get there, for sure. Hell, there is no guarantee we make it out of the East and, if we do, whoever we see come out of the West (Warriors, Spurs, Thunder, Clippers) is going to be an incredibly tough opponent.

^^^Did I say he had a great game last night? No, he didn't shoot well. But did the Pistons stop guarding him? Did they collapse the paint and leave him open on the perimeter because he was missing shots? And when he did go inside, did the Pistons not swarm him, leaving the perimeter open? He still had a double double (as he did EVERY game this series) and we won. You can play the "if" game all day. We still won. We still swept. We are still moving on with time to rest. I'm a results oriented guy. I don't care if it is pretty so long as the end result is the desired result.

The idea of trading down again to the middle of the First Round is growing on me. This draft is absolutely loaded with 2nd and 3rd round talent. If we can get some assets in those rounds and/or to move up and get more picks in those rounds, I can see the logic in that. It all depends on if they love one of the prospects who will still be there at 8.

I'm not sure we watched the same series. Love created mismatches all series which opened up the lane for LeBron and Kyrie by pulling their post-defenders out of the paint. He will have bad shooting nights. Anyone who watches the NBA regularly knew that Love was a mid-40's shooter, even as the primary option in Minny. As for his rebounding, he is a waaaaaaay better defensive rebounder than he is an offensive rebounder, so him getting his own misses doesn't appreciably inflate his numbers. He consistently boxes out the man he is guarding and is the best big man in the league at starting the fast break off a miss. BTW, everyone gets pushed around by Drummond. That's what Drummond does. He might be the strongest post player in the league right now. If you think Love is overpaid, just wait until you see the contracts which will be signed this summer. By the end of the contract, if he stay healthy, Love will be as underpaid as Curry is right now.

Steph Curry, at a minimum, has a sprained MCL. Typical recovery time of 6 weeks. If no complete tear, I'll bet he tries to come back in 4. He might, but he won't be the same. That light at the end of the tunnel for Cavs Nation just got a bit brighter.

I can't agree with the overrated consensus. I'd say that is more a reflection on your particular crowd and their musical tastes. And with your reference to Baby Got Back and U Can't Touch This as some kind of standard bearers, I don't know what to say. Given the outpouring of praise from musicians of all genres, I doubt they agree with the overrated label either. Your list is also woefully short. There are several songs I would add, most notably Kiss (how could you miss that?), Rasberry Street, U Got the Look, The Most Beautiful Girl in the World, Sign O' The Times, Little Red Corvette, I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man, Thieves in the Temple, Pop Life (one of my personal favs), I Would Die for You, and Alphabet Street. Several others too but I don't want to write a novel here. He was iconic not just for the songs he sang, but for the songs he wrote. For instance, did you know he wrote Nothing Compares to U? I actually like his version (particularly the live version with Rosie Gaines) better than the one that bald Irish b*tch sang and went to the top of the charts with. https://vk.com/video1692287_168060759. He also wrote Manic Monday (the Bangles), Round and Round (Tevin Campbell), Jungle Love (Morris Day & the Time), I Feel for You (Chaka Khan), How Come You Don't Call Me (Alicia Keys), and many others. And when Prince wrote something, he wrote it..... lyrics and music. He was a musical genius/savant.

If we take an OL at 8, I would think it would be either Tunsil or ND's Ronnie Stanley. I've seen a few updated mocks with us taking the latter. Very small chance Tunsil lasts to us at 8. Other mocks have us trading down again, some as low as 20 with NYJ. In the one we moved down to 20, we took the WR Doctson

Cleveland Browns Discussion
^I hope not. I don't see NFL QB in his future. I'd rather roll the dice on a Jeff Driscoll or Christian Hackenberg. ^^We may already have our QB. I know that it is not 'likely' that RGIII fulfills that potential which led to teams scrambling to sell the farm to take him, but I put his odds at that about even with the odds that Wentz turns into a 'star'. Regardless, so long as we don't blow the picks like past regimes did on draft busts, then the draft pick values absolutely do matter. As much as the Julio Jones trade gets panned, it would've been the right move if the players we drafted with the picks we got in return turned out to be worthy of their selections.

Miami looks good, but keep in mind they are playing a vastly overachieving Hornets squad. I'm still more worried about Toronto, and probably Atlanta too.

The Cavs regular season and the Warriors regular season were very different. The Cavs took a page out of SAS's book and pretty much cruised to the playoffs. They did just enough to get home-court. The Warriors went full tilt for the record. Pedal to the metal all season. I don't blame them. I also think that strategy may pay off as they've been pressure tested all season with a huge target on their back. If they burn out or start showing wear and tear injuries, they will be criticized for it. The Cavs should be well-rested. Whether they can just flip the switch is the question yet to be answered. So far, so good IMHO.
