If a teacher ever hit my kid, I hope all I do is write some crazy 40 page letter.

Lake looks cooooooold today, which makes me wonder what drives people to do join those polar bear clubs
  4. Did you review that thread in full? The songs posted are not limited to Cincy and Cleveland

    Turn in your man-card immediately!
  6. Herron was most likely gone even before this. Not because the NFL is holding its collective breath to have the opportunity to draft him, but because the young guys are absolutely breathing down Boom and Saine's necks. They should have played more this year, in fact. It is not that hard to argue that Hall, Berry and Hyde are all more talented than Boom and Saine. We also got a redshirt (Smith) who can get it done and will be ready to play next year.

I wouldn't need any Vergara with her!

^^^^That's the Columbian chica I mentioned upthread. What's her name?
  9. I'm not sure he is going to enter. Not with this black eye and a season which has seen his stock drop nearly every week. He really might be better just coming back and playing a shortened season. Posey and Adams, on the other hand....

I'll add Marion Cotillard since I just saw Inception. Talk about sex appeal...
  11. After you get your last word in, of course :)
  12. Pryor was involved..... shocker. It's so hard to root for that guy. He's such a knucklehead. Looks like Milller is going to get on the field sooner than expected. Has Guiton transferred?
  13. http://www.urbanohio.com/forum2/index.php/topic,24796.0.html This has been covered in a broader context already. My take is in there. But as far as "defining" songs, I have to go with Springsteen's "Youngstown"

You give me hope, Keith. I have white kitchen tile running into my dining room. MTS would definitely clutch his pearls if he saw. I know there is hardwood under there, and can only hope it is in similar condition. We just ordered a new table from Amish country and I plan on doing something about that before the table is ready. Maybe a test cut is in order for this weekend. My pet peeve this month is christmas lights. Is it really that hard to make a reliable product or are we getting scammed by the entire industry?

Smith is one of the better anchors out there..... but he cracks you up? I don't know if he has ever made ne crack a smile.
  16. Great win last night.
  17. I like the name. When Gilbert purchased naming rights to Gund Arena, I was hoping he would give it a name like "Rock Arena" instead of what we got.

Have not read it.... but I hear the ending is very different from the movie. One thing about the Natural one of my english profs always used to talk about is how Roy Hobbs is the poster boy for an American protaganist.... a humbe guy who is from "nowhere special". This is the same prof, of course, that I talked about upthread who had this thing against Forest Gump because he thought the movie was taking a shot at the baby boomers and how they "sold out" after the 1960's.

100 pages of pissing and moaning. Only on UO ;)
  21. Of course you did. Each rider must take the train from either Cleveland to Cincinnati or Cincinnati to Cleveland.... it is not intended for any other service. It will also take the train 15 hours to get there. And, oh yeah, if we build it, then all residents of Ohio who desire to travel between those two cities MUST ride it.
  22. But that change would be more than a day late and a few hundred million dollars short.

The saying "you get what you pay for" applies more often than not, I have found. Don't get me started on the roofers who blew me away with their quote...
  24. ^I'll pay that $88 myself if you are sweating it that bad, Strap ;) I always viewed the first Stimulus package as more a bailout of the States than anything else. State's do indeed need to stop deferring their financial problems. Ohio is thankfully not near the bottom of the barrel on this issue, but things don't look great either. One thing that definitely needs to stop is the double-dipping which is so rampant.... meaning employees who qualified for PERS, took it, and then simply changed titles or positions within the government so they are paid both a regular salary and a pension. Workers comp, disability and other entitlement programs need to be thoroughly audited for fraud.... but nobody wants to talk about that because there certainly is a cost involved and you have to be confident that any such audit will net a return on investment. Costs of maintaining infrastructure also should be shifted more towards those who cause the most wear and tear, and not so much shared by the State as a whole.
