Cleveland Browns Discussion
A Browns fan would never use "totally" and "like" in the same sentence.... negating whatever you said in the rest of that post.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Just like a Bengals fan. Can't win straigh up so you jump on the Steelers' bandwagon. I still stand by my statement that the Browns Backers is the largest fan organization in America, so take your Steelers' love and shove it. EDIT:

Cleveland Browns Discussion
It doesn't dominate Appalachia? Pittsburgh is the capital of (wait for it...) West Virginia afterall. Regardless, I think you take this light-hearted back-and-forth a beet to seriously. If you can't absorb that quote as just a little friendly ribbing, well....

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Hardly? From your own cite: This was actually a very close match between the Browns and the Steelers. It all comes down to recent success.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Steelers Nation just seems big to you Cincy folks because it dominates Appalachia. Browns Backers, however, is the largest fan organization in the United States and has a post in every major U.S. City, including Cincinnati (FYI, in case you ever want to join).

Cincinnati Bengals Discussion
It says they lost to one of the worst teams in football. What can we say.... they tend to play up and down to their level of competition (losses to Bills and Bengals in consecutive weeks and wins over NE and NOLA in consecutive weeks). Inexplicable.

Cleveland Waterfront Line Extension / Downtown Loop
Well.... I should have qualified my statement that it makes sense only with more lakefront development. But then we get into the chicken-and-egg debate because I would argue that a loop would be a big incentive for waterfront development. I also liked the idea (I think KJP proposed awhile back) re closing E 17th to traffic (or maybe building on top of it?) and dedicating that street to the eastern north-south portion of any loop. While downtown is fairly walkable to anybody who actually walks, I would say that connecting PS, the Flats, the Waterfront, and PHS would be fairly helpful. I don't know too many people that would walk from PHS to the river (especially for our non-summer months).

COC's are very useful advocates in our society, but we must not lose sight of the fact that they are advocates and have specific interests they would advance at the expense of others. Same goes for environmental groups.

Cleveland Waterfront Line Extension / Downtown Loop
The NS ROW would offer better options for stations and integration into residential areas, I would think. The CSX ROW is just so wide and disconnected. I would still prefer a loop over an extension any day.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I don't think a lot of Clevelanders are jumping ship to the Steelers. It's more the border war (Youngstown, Stuebenville, etc) that has understandably been tipping towards the Steelers over the last decade or so. Those folks show up at the Browns games, as well as a few brave souls from Pittsburgh.

Moving from Lake Co. to Cuyahoga County, any suggestions?
Good luck with the transition, Emmie. By next year, you will probably be ready for the East Side ;)

Best Movies Ever Made?
Agreed. Smith was unbelievable in "Ali".... so was Jon Voigt.

Best Movies Ever Made?
^No sarcasm... if you were directing that question at me. Yes... very inspirational. But also horribly depressing and Smith's incredible job of selling that struggle is what makes it so difficult to watch. I would go into further detail, but don't want to ruin it for anyone who hasn't watched. It's David Lynch. What did you expect? That said, I was a Twin Peaks guy in the day.

Best Movies Ever Made?
Will Smith was so good in The Pursuit of Happiness that I will never watch that movie again.

I believe we will be towards the bottom of that pack in terms of tie-breakers. IIRC, the first tie-breaker is strength of schedule and we have had one of the tougher schedules. Teams tied with us record-wise but who played weaker schedules will be placed ahead of us in the draft. That said, we should pick somewhere in the neighborhood of #10 and Ryan Kerrigan is still my guy.

Best Movies Ever Made?
What has been surprising to me is how Dicaprio has been able, recently, to pull off the 'tough guy' action star roles - Blood Diamond, The Departed, etc. He still runs like a girl though. Hollywood is really thin on talented young actors to play those types of roles. It's too bad he wasn't used to play the older version of Anakin Skywalker in Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Syth. He would have done sooooooo much better than Hayden Christensen. HC was painful to watch in that role, which could have been a very powerful performance if given to the right actor. My brother in law and I debated this weekend who gave a worse acting performance - HC in the latest series or Mark Hammel as Luke Skywalker in IV, V and VI.

Best Movies Ever Made?
I'll let you get away with "Ghostbusters" because it is a classic and contains a line I use often - "We got the tools, we got the talent" But "The Hard Way" and "Under Seige" (save for the 10 seconds that whatshername jumps out of the cake)??? Please....

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I doubt it. I have heard that it is pretty well known in NFL circles that only one Ryan brother is cut out to be a head coach. I really don't want ANOTHER overhaul. Just give me an offensive coordinator that can move the ball without gadget/trick plays and I think we will be on the right path. That and some more top end talent.... especially at WR. Teams are stacking the box against Hillis because they know our WR's can be locked down 1 on 1. The defense really let me down. I can't figure them out. One week they come out and punch the other team in the mouth and the next they get pushed all over the field. What Cincy's O-line and Benson did to them was inexecusable.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
I would bet you find more chrystal meth, perhaps the worst drug at present, in rural areas than you do in urban neighborhoods. As far as where kids get their drugs, they may get it from some kid in "the hood".... but where did that dealer get his supply? Most likely, some guy out in Parma... at least that's what recent arrests suggest.
