Depends on what you mean by "fits". I, for one, find UC's greatest strength to be architechtural diversity and the Cancer Hospital, whether you do or don't like the design, definitely adds to the diversity in many ways - shape, exterior, size, it impacts the 'UC Skyline', it's modern, it's 'curvy', etc.

^Not sure about current occupancy, but I thought it was doing relatively well when it first opened 2 years ago. I can't argue with that line of thinking ;) Not sure, but I believe the corner you are looking at is finished. Me too. The view captures me more than the exposed penis :) But I haven't been there since the Ireland Cancer Hospital got its skin. I'll be interested to see how that impacted the view.

I'm done with Jake. He can still throw the ball.... but he takes waaaaaay too many chances and does not survey the field. He could have easily had 5 picks this game if the Panthers were paying better attention. Our prevent defense is awful. Absolutely awful. On the bright side, Hillis continues to do what he does... but he seemed kind of beat up in the 2nd half. Vickers had an outstanding game. And we finally had a Robo sighting!

Cleveland - University Circle - Euclid Avenue
4000+ posts and I have yet to contribute a single photo thread to this site. I’m not much of a photog, so I try to leave it to the pro’s. I never realized how much work goes into it, so many thanks to the members who consistently create these threads. Anyways, this thread covers current and recent developments along Euclid Avenue through University Circle. I was originally planning to do a thread covering the Healthline’s impact on all of Euclid (including the Clinic, MidTown, CSU, and Downtown)… but there is so much to cover, my camera’s battery (and my availability) only made it a few hundred yards on what was supposed to be a few mile tour. As planned, I’m going to start on the “eastern frontier” – Coltman 27 – which is encircled by Lakeview Cemetery, University Circle and Little Italy. The Cemetery offers a nice “buffer zone” to the East. The development is built to flow into the Little Italy neighborhood and has wonderful access to both the current (E 120) and future planned (Mayfield Rd.) RTA stations, not to mention the Healthline. 1. The view from Euclid 2. Rowhouses… Townhomes. Tom-ay-to…. Tom-ah-to 3. 4. 5. 6. I believe this is the last set currently under construction 7. 8. As I said, it flows nicely into the LI neighborhood 9. I believe we learned recently that the legal dispute over this land has been settled and development is planned. Of course, we will hear the usual moan from the PD and its commentators about how parking is already a nightmare in LI and this will only make it worse… 10. Say goodbye to Coltman as it peers out over the redline’s tracks onto Euclid and beyond… 11. Say hello to “the other side of the tracks” and Circle 118 (as seen from Euclid) 12. 13. From E. 118th 14. 15. Again… good job weaving it into the existing urban fabric 16. A bit pretentious? 17. There certainly is not a lack of transportation options right at your doorstep. Keep in mind that the redline uses the same ROW as the freight line you can see in this picture and the current E 120th station is right under that overpass (Coltman 27 is on the other side of that station). 18. Say goodbye to Circle 118 as we continue to inch west on Euclid 19. I really have to give CWRU credit for the way it has been developing its campus, with respect for the surrounding neighborhood 20. 21. 22. 23. And it has a great, dense urban neighborhood to work with… 24. The Cleveland Institute of Art 25. Nothing is imminent, but talks continue regarding an expansion/renovation on this side of the building. 26. The recently completed Cleveland Hearing and Speech Center 27. Crossing over Mayfield/Ford, we come up on UH and all its recent and ongoing developments. First, of course, is the Ireland Cancer Hospital 56. Not so much of a fan of the garage, but nothing worth throwing a fit over… 60. Who said it lacks “street presence”? 61. Seems like it will have multiple entrances 62. 63. And it will help frame the new main entrance, which will front but not clog Euclid 64. 65. Future site of a ‘bland’ Courtyard Marriot… but good infill nonetheless 66. Just downloaded the speed test tonight on my G2. Top scores so far are 0.80 mbps upload and 5.98 mbps download, but the averages were closer to 0.60 and 5.00. Definitely tests faster with the wi-fi turned off..... which is odd because the browser seems quicker with the wifi on.

So, gottaplan, what's your plan? How should RTA deal with these juvenile criminals? Nail them with the $50 fine immediately? What if they don't pay? Second offense? His plan is to not have 'these' juveniles ride the RTA at all. Seriously, ease up folks. It is still a crime to fare-jump. RTA has no authority to change Ohio law.

What, if you have one, is your workout routine?
You are probably working with too much weight on the squats and deadlifts. It took a long time for me to get away from the "I want to impress everybody in the gym" attitude and focus more on quality lifting, not quantity. Form is way more important than weight. Also, forget about the situps/crunches and get a wheel.... get one with two wheels and no recoil. As you get better at it, take one of the wheels off so that balancing yourself requires added effort. Your core will never feel stronger/better. TBideon, I agree with your overall point.... but I did recently read a study which said that late night snacks/carbs are not as bad as most people think and can actually do a bit of good. I also don't believe in the "no-carb" lifestyle. Your body needs carbs to run properly. I would say that the most important thing is to eat regularly, in smaller doses, and not gorge yourself all at once..... Although I fully intend to break that rule tomorrow!

^^Get a bike and adopt a "why drive when I can ride philosophy". People underestimate the type of cardio you get from riding a bike around an urban environment.... especially the upper body workout you can get. Walking does very little, IMO, to improve your appearance if you are in relatively decent shape. It helps maintain your weight.... or cuts weight from the obese.... but walking alone will do little for people like you and me.

Not overkill when you have to keep up with the rest of the gym rats on the field of play. Off the top of my head..... Day One - power legs (squats, dead lifts, calf raises, parachutes and other cardio); Day two - power upper body (power cleans, flat, incline, decline bench, pull-ups, rows, military press); Day three - heavy cardio and light legs (nautilis); Day four - Dumb bell workouts (all three benches, military, flies, upright rows, curls for the girls and tri's for the guys); Day five - burnout lower body (hills, lunges, leg presses, jump rope); Day six - burnout upper body - (Bench strips, 7's, nautilis); Day seven - REST Keep in mind though that I preferred to keep my workouts to 1 hour. I preferred 1 hour, six days a week to 2 hours, 3 days a week.

Haha. I was talking to a buddy of mine about the commercials which constantly put out this picture of the American family. Not only is the husband fat, but he is usually dumb and goofy too. I believe it is a psychological ploy. The product they are selling to the male viewers who will see this goofball with the hot wife and think how lucky he is. The women viewers will see this hot woman who was able to look past the superficial and judge her husband for his "inner beauty". They will want to own the products these people have.

I'm under 200 lbs for the first time since 8th grade (circa 1991). When I played sports in HS/College, I usually hung around 225, but it was a fairly lean 225 and I am 6"2. Now that I don't have time for 6 days a week at the gym, I like my current weight..... not saying that I wouldn't trade 5 pounds of fat for 5 pounds of muscle if given the option. But I never thought I would be under 200 because I have a relatively large frame. The trick for me was all dietery. No fried foods, completely cut dairy out, and I make sure I get my fiber in daily (for big guys, you should go higher than what is represented on the package.... e.g., if something says 35% of daily fiber value, I only count it for 20%).

C'mon guys... let's help out Cleburger.... and, more importantly, any guest who might read his post. First sentence: check out some of the other development threads. Second sentence: those aren't "brownfields" and the FEB was hardly a 'vibrant tourist destination' when it was leveled by Wolstein and Co. Third sentence: Forest City does not want to alter the river. The casino's developer - NOT Forest City - has tossed that idea out there. Nothing is imminent and it appears it is a non-starter.

^Probably out of his price range. Collinwood would have some places, but might be a little too much of a culture shock. Spend a year or so in Cuyahoga County and you might be ready for Collinwood. You MIGHT be able to find something around Coventry in Cleveland Hts for approx. $500 and it is a good place to get a feel for more urban living. Just limit your search to Mayfield Road and anything south of there. Do not rent in any of the duplexes north of Mayfield Road or any of the apartments on Superior. Another idea may be University Lofts on Euclid.

You dont think public safety force members should be allowed to organize? Do you realize what manning and shift strength levels would be at in our big cities without those unions? Do you honestly believe the city admins keep safety equipment up to par with national guidelines out of the kindness of their heart? Public employee unions serve vital interests outside of their members own financial stability. For Police and Fire, they have to accomplish their goals without the ability to strike. Thankfully, only two states in our entire union have the nerve to deny public employees the right to organize. /rant off

I don't mind the touchscreen and use it a lot, especially since swype came around. But I need a keyboard because I do some heavy typing on my phone on certain days. I've went from blackberry curve to the G1 to the 3g slide to the G2. I suspect (hope) I'll have this one for awhile.
