Cleveland Browns Discussion
Advice.... if you notice there are seats available in the upper deck of the Dawg Pound, try to take in part of the game up there. It's the closest thing we have to the old Municipal Stadium bleachers' atmosphere. The higher up, the better.

Cuyahoga County Executive
No.... but I'm not sure the indictments are all over yet. My gut tells me that Fitzgerald is relatively clean. He just doesn't seem like a Dimora, Russo, etc. type. But he will have that cloud over him, rightly or wrongly.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
For all we talk about lack of 'foot traffic'.... it seems odd that we are now advocating for the diminishment of it.

Cuyahoga County: County Government Reform News & Discussion
Looks like Council will be 8 Democrats and 3 Republicans, although I think party-politics is not nearly as divisive on the local level... outside of campaigns.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
As it applies to THIS site and the issues we generally find important to us as a group.... I am worried about the voting breakdown. Basically, the rural areas of Central and Western Ohio won this race for Kasich. Strickland won Cuyahoga, Franklin, Lucas, Summit and Mahoning (mostly by wide numbers) and came unexpectedly close in Hamilton. Kasich now knows (if he ever didn't) where his voting base is and it is not in the urban centers. I think Kasich is going to do some good things, and on-balance the benefits may outweigh the costs, but I highly doubt his agenda as Governor is going to come close to satisying UO'ers on a whole.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
How so? Lamenting a loss and obstructing official business are two totally different things. Ohio is now completely under GOP control. The Governor, AG, Supreme Court, both sections of the State House. If we are not a booming state in 4 years, both in terms of business and population, I suppose they will face the wrath of our schizophrenic swing state.

2010 Gubernatorial Election
Not sure but a TON of votes still left in Montgomery, Lucas and Cuyahoga(I've heard as high as 350,000 but cannot confirm that). Also some in Franklin as well Right now, Strickland is down 110,000. Montgomery and Franklin are almost all in. Montgomery pretty much split its vote. There's another 100,000 in Cuyahoga, which will help Strickland close the gap by maybe 30,000-40,000. He could close it by another 10,000 in Summit and 10,000 in Mahoning. Hamilton is in and went for Kasich, but just barely. Stark looks like it is going to split. So it comes down to Lucas and I don't think he will win by a big enough margin in that county to close the remaining 50,000-60,000 he will need to win.

Strickland is giving Kasich a run for his money in Hamilton so far. Could be a good sign.

Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
I voted pretty similarly, and I campaigned for the streetcar. Something about being the exception, not the rule, comes to mind....

Guess the neighborhood
Man... that was fast. Yep. It is D-town Greensboro. I went to college a few blocks from there. Nice mid-size downtown. Major improvements during the time I was there. You're up again Andrew.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I think the trick in the wording is that their will be 1.5 million sf of showroom space available when the big shows come around.... not 1.5 million sf of "permanent showroom space"

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
We've discussed this before, I believe. IIRC, the Nashville numbers are based on the entire building which will house the permanent showrooms and the Cleveland numbers are just for specific showroom space.
