Stay inside Cleveland folks. Things are starting to get nasty out there.

He was a key figure in the budget balancing under the Clinton Administration. There is no denying that. How much that role, as a member of a legislative subcommittee, should be weighted towards his capability of being an executive is something worth considering, though. There is a LOT more to governing than balancing a budget. And it also scares me that he will have much, much more influence on how exactly it is done and won't share with us any specifics to his plan.
  3. OK. But that is not the WHD. Those locations would be the Flats. I really like the idea of a dog park for downtown too. I just don't see where one could be situated in the WHD.
  4. I think you should be prepared for the fact that for every good idea, about 10 bad ones will be tossed about.

Jamison. Not enough bang for the buck and he plays the same position as JJ. Hopefully, we can parlay (sp?) his contract and our trade exception into a nice piece.
  6. Even if some of the proposals are odd IMO, I'm glad to see that they are looking into practical, realistic and, most importantly, legal solutions. Now... I'm not saying that downtown couldn't use a dog park, but where would they put it in the WHD? None of the lot owners are going to give up their cash-cows for a public use type development.

Anybody going to the game tomorrow?

It all depends on whether the particular state you are in considers 'vehicle' (in the DUI laws) to include those powered by humans, in addition to motorized vehicles. Ohio is one of those states. In Cali, for instance, you can be as drunk as you want on a bike and you won't get a DUI..... although they might write you up for public drunkenness. It does seem weird, but I don't find it that troubling of a law. I certainly don't want to share the road with someone who can tip over right in front of my car at any given time, either causing me to run him/her over or to swerve and create a hazard for myself and other motorists.

If Obama can appear on Fox News and answer the 'tough' questions, then Kasich should be able to handle NPR
  10. The NC analogy isn't all that bad.... although the divide there is not so much north-south as it is east-west. The eastern part of the state, or 'Jesse Helms country', is much more conservative and rural. But it's still all the 'bible belt'

Well..... you seem to forget that, back then, there were men and then there were 3/5 men. 1 > 3/5. Not equal. Slightly more than half, though. I'll give you that ;)
  12. Operations and personnel take up approximately 2/3 of the military's budget. The Department of Defense is the nation's largest governmental department. The second largest is the Department of Veterans' Affairs. The third largest is the Department of Homeland Security. Added together, the first two are larger than the rest of the Executive departments COMBINED..... even if you include independent agencies, like SSA.

    You know better....
  14. http://ibmag.com/Main/Archive/Port_Order_11765.aspx This is a more comprehensive article on Friedman's vision going forward with the Port. Specific discussion about the planned neighborhood north of the stadium. Nice jab at Indy at the end :-)
  15. OMG. This ice cream is SOOOO GOOD! I love spicy food and this is the perfect balance of "yum" creamy with a nice balance of heat! Yeah... but you're probably 'that guy' who puts Brother Bru Bru's on your cereal.
  16. I get the concept, but I believe it was examined awhile back and found to be more time consuming and more expensive than using an eastern sea port. Hopefully, they have found a way to close that gap, both in time and money.

I say you go as Snookie, MTS. You might need to darken your skin a bit, though.
  18. ^Already being discussed in the Cleveland Business thread, but probably a better fit here. It seems like the idea is more geared towards exports, than it is towards imports, judging the last sentence in that article. Also, I understand that it is just a start-up process.... but 2 ships? They would only be here every couple weeks. If the goal is to reduce shipping costs, I wonder how the math adds up. Shipping a container from Europe to Cleveland has to be significantly faster if you use one of the east coast ports, then to come down the St. Lawrence, right?
  19. Cayenne peppered ice cream?

The Coventry strip is much closer to Little Italy than it is to Shaker Square. That neighborhood and Cedar-Fairmount should be on your list when you come back.
  21. No, they played better like men in the second half, you have it backwards. FTFY
  22. :speech: That other Ohio team led the Falcons at the end of the first half and has yet to get b!tch smacked out of the gate in a game this year, like this Ohio team has how many times this year?

I believe this is the 3rd straight year we have defeated the defending Super Bowl Champion (NYG, Pitt, NOLA). On the QB discussion, I would like to send Colt into the offseason with the confidence he has built so far. I think we have seen enough to know that he can start in this league. And if we give him another year, that puberty thing might kick in.

Andalusia.... probably Malaga, to be specific.
