  1. Can't find any news coverage on it. Maybe we should shut down the Tequila Ranch just to be safe.
  2. Don't they have some role in the Intercontinental as well? BTW, the rendering (I believe) is from this view - http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=9795+Newton+Avenue,+Cleveland,+OH&sll=41.595846,-81.547134&sspn=0.008457,0.019248&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=9795+Newton+Ave,+Cleveland,+Cuyahoga,+Ohio+44106&layer=c&cbll=41.507852,-81.605743&panoid=uGLXf0-qnxZy-Z4sKohJlA&cbp=11,56.98,,0,-11.61&ll=41.507854,-81.605737&spn=0.003246,0.02105&z=16

... or, perhaps, 280 lb defensive lineman diving at their ankles. BTW, stretching and strengthening is not going to prevent an ankle sprain as much as it will minimize its severity.

Yes he has. He will kill the 3-C. Beyond that... I don't know.
  5. So the Republican and other opponents of this project are failing (wilfully or not) to see the big picture - the long term goals of this project - and are basing their opposition on what they forecast as the immediate impact/implications. I don't want to ever again hear the term 'trickle down economics' from these folks' mouths.

For those who may be more knowledgeable re this race, what's the argument for Lanci? I don't think I am comfortable with Fitzgerald and definitely not Dolan.

Interesting... considering Rasmussen polls usually trend to the right for whatever reason. I still think Strickland has little hope. There just is no special appeal about him IMO (not saying that there is with Kasich) and he will likely fall as a victim of circumstance.
  8. Uh... I believe 3231 was saying that a fall "opening" was never part of the plan. Completion of phase 1 and "opening" are two different things.
  9. Then maybe this should go in a Cleveland Surbuban discussion thread. Just...... kidding......
  10. Hmmm.... I feel the exact opposite for the same reason.

Is there some kind of rule that we have to throw our rookie QB's, for their first start, into the fire against Pittsburgh's or Baltimore's defense?

Newton Ave. is a great little street. Imagine the block parties. The whole area around that block is a historic district, I believe. But the surrounding blocks are nowhere near as intact. I wonder if Newton was built after the other streets, where the housing stock is crumbling. Take a look at this pitiful site, how the City allows this stand is beyond me - http://maps.google.com/maps?hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=41.507726,-81.617528&spn=0,0.009624&z=17&layer=c&cbll=41.507728,-81.617637&panoid=26E2t7lwjBk280NYbe9X3A&cbp=12,195.77,,0,0 To be honest, there is so much land for development in that little neighborhood, it almost makes me nervous that it would be prime bait for some type of non-residential function. Newton Avenue would become the new Hessler Ct.
  13. Thanks pcforsgren. You might not have noticed that we now have a thread dedicated to flats development (non-FEB).

Beautiful City.... they just need to start working on getting those unsightly power lines underground or something.
  15. Buffalo is underrated. I went to school with some people from Buffalo and they always raved about it.
  16. I have yet to meet the person who did not have a glowing review of Jersey Boys. I'm definitely going next year. I'll have to make a note for February 21st, the date tix go on sale to the general public.

Love 'em. Especially their simplicity. They have that 'classic' feel.... like the Celtics' duds.
  18. You are only focusing on the benefits those unions get for their members (which is their duty). What you may not realize is the constant battle between, for example, fire unions and the cities over minimum manning or equipment or minimally acceptable response time..... or police unions that fight city hall tooth and nail when the administration and council want to slash police presence in lieu of cutting their own bloated salaries. Keep in mind also that the safety force unions are strike prohibited. They can only "hard-bargain" to a point and then a neutral third party decides how the contract will read.
  19. "differing".... or "hateful"? I would say that differing opinions can be found on just about every topic possible here on UO, and such differing opinions are what makes this such a strong site. The political threads used to lean left, but now they actually lean right given the "ethusiasm gap".... and Scrabble's endless bombardment of far-right wing fringe op-eds :) Discussion is always good, no matter how much you may disagree. Hateful opinions are attacked and, oftentimes, removed. Nothing wrong with being intollerant of intollerance if you ask me. JMO. I'm not a mod, nor could I or would I ever be one. You may also find that certain opions that are either contrary to established facts or misrepresentative of established facts are 'shouted down' (if that is even possible on an internet message board). But the forumers who make those posts usually are aware (I have to think) they are trying to mislead and deserve what they get.

^And minorities. But it is what it is. If people don't exercise their right to vote, then that's all on them.
  21. You sure do have difficulty reading things in the proper context, "Clueless"

  23. Corbo's never was at the "corner of mayfield and murray hill", was it? La Dolce Vita has one corner and the other corner is occupied by another restaraunt. Corbo's was more mid-block, no?
