That's because he doesn't want to believe that he married a commie! ;)
  2. I never said don't consider it. In fact, I think it is a great idea. The more trolleys, the better. It is a great service to have, so long as we can afford it. But you do have to consider that it wouldn't just be downtown workers and a specific segment of the OC community that would use it. I imagine it would be quite attractive, as a free means of transportation, for those Lakeview Terrace rabble-rousers and others in and around OC to be shuttled into downtown to loiter, cause trouble, scare the suburbanites, etc. Personally, I would not let that be a deterrent to providing such a service to the community as a whole.
  3. "Ask Sherwin Williams"...
  4. When I had surgery performed at the CCF about 10 years ago, the waiting room looked like an international refugee camp.
  5. According to the "master plan"... yes, it will. But we know how plans change.
  6. I don't get it. The article makes it sound like the survey was for all of Ohio, but only lists Cleveland attractions.

This is why I am not in favor of 5 game series. One dominant pitcher can essentially win it for his team.
  8. I don't think that it was matches' point, but a "free" circulator from OC to Downtown probably would draw a lot of the type of riders many on here complain about.
  9. I can't possibly understate how great the Terminal Tower looks now that her restoration is complete.
  10. Nice. A pedestrian path from W. 3rd to E. 9th makes sense. So does putting a new entrance to the PA facing the mall and ending that silly divide.

The propaganda machine has done an admirable job convincing you of that.

I know you don't know how to properly indicate an internal quotation. I know that you are straying off topic. And I know that both of us need to be smacked for discussing grammar in a football thread.... a Browns thread at that.

I did that intentionally just to give Ole' Danny Boy something to look up.

^The better polling companies take all this into account. The latest I saw from Nate Silver, probably the best poll analyst out there (he nailed the 2008 presidential election as far as electoral votes), gave Strickland less than a 1/5 chance of winning.
  15. ^As has been pointed out many times, these things go in cycles. Cleveland was everyone's darling child in the early and mid 1990's. The hype wore off and the recession hit (much earlier here than most other places). The one thing I have always heard about Pittsburgh in response to these rankings is that the City has overextended itself and is playing smoke and mirror with finances.

It's going to come down to a matter of voter turnout. Conservatives are very motivated to vote. Liberals are more "bleh" at the moment. The polling today, especially when viewed collectively, is fairly accurate for "likely voters." I would have thought that the ethusiams gap would lead to innaccuracies in the polls, but that has not proved to be the case in other similar years, such as 1994 and 2006.
  17. KJP, has All Aboard Ohio looked into what options will be available should Kasich be elected and follow through on his plans to kill the 3-C? Is there any legal recourse to stop him from allowing the $400 million to go to another state?

The NFL might as well fine Eric Wright for the hit he put on Gresham as well, while there at it. Oh yeah... I forgot... Gresham held onto the ball.
  19. Maybe they will improve their signage when they are concerned with attracting walk-ins.
  20. A major factor that gets overlooked is consumer confidence in the economy. If this thread, and certain individual's "only focus on the bad" blinders, is any indication of that confidence, we are in a world of sh!te.
  21. At least the space was built-out nicely and should find another tenant (I hope).

It will take a miracle for Strickland to win... especially after groups like Crossroads get into full campaign mode.

You're assuming that a libertarian would be on the far right side of the aisle, not more towards the middle. Libertarianism is hardly a "far-right" ideology, whereas Kucinich is certainly a "far-left" politician. And Sherrod Brown is a crusader for the middle-class... which the far-right has conveniently tagged as being a socialist anytime a politician does anything to stop the evaporation of that group here in America.

I've recently admired his willingness to not play procedural games and allow floor votes to occur in the Senate (regardless of what HIS actual vote will be) by not joining the obstructionists who improperly use the filibuster to block such votes from occuring.
  25. That's true. We just are more 'in your face' with it. Subtlety is not our strong suit.
