New York City: Developments and News
C'mon... don't be so shy EVD. Do share. Perhaps, to stay on topic, you could tie in how the GZM is all part of those plans and tactics.

^They did. I'm happy with the design selection.

And what are Islam's 'tactics and goals' in your *cough* unbiased opinion?

New York City: Developments and News
Trust me, EVD... the only one that article impacted in any way was you. It's petty and small-minded drivel only intended to impact a very specific targeted audience. ^^Where is the right-wing uproar over Trump proposing to fund the terrorists???

New York City: Developments and News
Depressing episode indeed - Fla. minister cancels burning of Qurans on 9/11 GAINESVILLE, Fla. – The leader of a tiny church on Thursday backed off his threat to burn the Quran, saying he gave up the plan in exchange for a deal to move a planned Islamic center and mosque away from New York's ground zero. The imam planning the center, however, quickly denied any such deal. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/quran_burning

New York City: Developments and News
Interesting tidbit about the pointless public opinion polling on this subject. Residents of NY State and NYC oppose the GZM. Residents of Manhattan do not. Can anyone confirm? Also, is it not true that the 'GZM' would, ironically, not even be visible from ground zero? Finally, it should be noted that the "Developer" of this project is not any one individual, but rather a nonprofit entity called Park51.

Any proof of that beyond your wild speculation, inferences, and innuendoes?

New York City: Developments and News
The developer is neglecting many of their other duties and properties, and pushing forward a controversial project instead. No crocodile tears from me, the developer is the hypocrite here. OK. Good to hear that you will be on board with this project once he attends to his other properties. Or... maybe that doesn't change your opinion one bit, hence the crocadile tears.

Awful column . How does he propose we "say no" to the GZM?

Cleveland State University Vikings Athletics Discussion
Hmmmm..... I believe the CCC coach meant to say that Anton is Earl Boykins' nephew... not the other way around. Boykins is older than me. He's got to be in his mid to late 30's by now. Ironically, how funny is it that the shortest player in the NBA over the past decade or so, Earl Boykins at 5'5 on his best day, has a nephew that is 6'8. Imagine how good Earl would have been if he could have at least split the difference. Great news on the signing, though.

Now that's more like it. Maybe the profits they make from 'such a controversial, complicated development' - which don't forget is funded by 'mysterious' sources - will allow them to fix some guys roof. Or maybe they should have just asked the financiers of the GZM to redirect their funding to some guys roof in Washington Heights. I'm sure they could've sold them on that. I still don't get your complaint, though. You don't want the mosque there, yet you want it well-built and free of any code violations that may close it down? Seems like crocadile tears if you ask me...

^^I suppose the Ohio Republicans' next move is going to be to tell me, as a private property owner, that I am obligated to allow the guests to carry guns at my son's birthday party...

2010 Gubernatorial Election
Silver nailed the 2008 presidential election.... NAILED it. And, yes, he is totally up front about the fact that he leans Left in the political spectrum. Personally, I find fivethirtyeight to be one of the best websites for political analysis.

New York City: Developments and News
Fair enough. I must have misinterpreted this: It's strange the developer can get all kinds of funding for his Religious Community Center, but can't fix a few leaks here and there, and has buildings crumbling down into the streets. I suppose I thought you were making some kind of commentary on the sources of the funding for the mosque... To be clear though, what did you mean by "it's strange"?

^Have you investigated the maintenance records of any other developer in the Non-Ohio Projects forum? I didn't think so...

Too bad they don't think we are a great nation now...

I don't understand why it is relevant.... other than... well, nevermind.

New York City: Developments and News
^^What's your point? You are surprised that a developer could secure financing for the GZM but not for some of his other, wholly separate, more delapidated properties? Really?

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I also believe that particular rendering is severely outdated. I think that was released during a time when they contemplated the main entrance to the CC being though the lobby of the MM, no?

^Is this "the Cliffs" project? If so, it is time to move it into the "under construction" category, MayDay - http://forum.skyscraperpage.com/showthread.php?t=97396

John Boehner
I wonder if that medicine will taste bitter to Boehner and the rest of his GOP coherts. Curious question... but I doubt we will get the answer as Obama will do what he has always done since assuming the Presidency and make a good faith effort to reach accross the aisle. I actually think that the GOP taking back the House and/or Senate could be catastrophic for them. It has been a while since they gave any material consideration to actually governing a nation and not merely acting as obstructionists in the process. Let's hope they have some ideas besides putting their filthy government hands on my grandma's medicare.

Cleveland: Keeping its entertainment districts safe & vibrant
I actually think we have widdled this dicussion down quite nicely from what started as a bash-fest on the owner of Lust. Sure, there are going to be some people who will never accept the notion that the problems are not solely due to.... ummmmm...... "changing demographics" or however else you may want to "tread softly" around what you really want to say. But at least I think we all agree that the source of any increased problem THIS summer, whether it be very real or simply percieved/exaggerated through surbanite beer goggles, is that we need to find lawful means of keeping the underage, non-patronizing crowd away from this district so that the rest of 'us' can feel safe falling drunk into the street and using picket-fence approved profanity to entice our female targets. For the betterment of the neighborhood, I would say that the Forbes family needs to stay away as well. For once, I hope we just let the cops do their job. It will take an iron fist approach to keep an entertainment district this popular and dense under control. I accept that and approve of such tactics so long as the use of force remains proportional and reasonable.
