New Ohio metro populations.
It actually was pretty easy and I was able to rough some numbers up while eating my lunch. Keep in mind that the following statistics are from the always reliable wikipedia ;). Here's the breakdown I came up with. Cincy Metro - 4,399 sq. mi. for a pop. density of 498/sq. mi. C-bus Metro - 3,983 sq. mi. for a pop. density of 458/sq. mi. Cleveland Metro - 2,004 sq. mi. for a pop density of 1040/sq. mi. The areas exlude water (some of Cleveland metro's counties are nearly or more than half in the lake) and is based on the following: Cincy's metro includes 15 counties - 3 in Indiana (Dearborn, Franklin, Ohio), 7 in Kentucky (Boone, Bracken, Campbell, Gallatin, Grant, Kenton, Pendleton), and 5 in Ohio (Brown, Clermont, Hamilton, Warren, Butler) C-Bus's metro includes 8 counties (Delaware, Fairfield, Franklin, Licking, Madison, Morrow, Pickaway, Union)) all in Ohio. Cleveland's metro includes 5 counties (Cuyahoga, Geauga, Lake, Lorain, Medina) all in Ohio.

New Ohio metro populations.
Eh... not really, but I'm sure the equation is much more complicated than one person's observations. Anyways, getting back on topic, how bout those density numbers? Are they available yet?

New Ohio metro populations.
OK. Just checked and you are in part right. Greensboro-High Point is one MSA. Winston Salem is separate. That makes more sense but there still is a definitive divide between G-boro and HP. Anyway to figure out square mileage and density for the MSA's?

Cleveland: Places to trade in musical instruments?
That's what the first post indicates. That doesn't mean it can't still be useful for members and guests. A lot of people have unused instruments laying around.

New Ohio metro populations.
Does anyone know the square miles each metro covers and the density in the populations? With Cleveland being landlocked by the lake immediately to the north and by the Akron suburbs (many of which have more commuters to Cleveland, than to Akron IMO) about 20 miles to the south, I imagine our metro runs much farther to the east/west. CDM, I know you go by the strict definitions of metros, but I still think the definition is unevenly applied. Take where I spent 7 years of my life - the Greensboro/High Point/Winston-Salem area. That is one metro, but there is much more of a divide between those cities than there is between Cleveland-Akron or Cincy-Dayton. There actually is farmland and dirt roads in the areas between those cities. Also, commuters rarely travel between them for work. It is much more divided than the research triangle in the middle of the state.

Cleveland: Places to trade in musical instruments?
There's a place on Mayfield Road, I believe it is called "Motter's Music", which may do trades and/or buy equipment. I believe it is in Lyndhurst.... maybe Mayfield Heights.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
Everyone needs to take another look at this - http://media.cleveland.com/pdgraphics_impact/photo/08uptownjpg-0225cdb31424b65a.jpg The residential possibilities in this entire project are endless. It's probably not such a bad idea that they are starting small because, if these units are snatched up like the rentals at 668 were, they will have an easy sell to lenders for they want for phase 2 and beyond.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
The slope would also create natural amphitheater facing south for outdoor performances, movie screenings or civic gatherings. Interesting. Me likey...

But not too short when compared to a surface lot. If 3 floors is what is submitted for approval to the appropriate government commissions, then that is what it is going to be you'd have to assume. Sure, I would have liked taller buildings, but if you think about it, we should be focusing on vibrancy not how this project might contribute to UC's growing ableit modest skyline. The whole strip on Coventry is not more than 3 floors and it exudes vibrancy. Same with Little Italy. For the most part, the best parts of downtown are found in holes in the skyline when viewing from a distance. The important parts of this project are that the buildings are designed appropriately in terms of the basic concepts we should advocate for with first floor retail, built up to street on a major avenue, at a critical intersection (perhaps the most critical outside of downtown), etc. I wish they would have done something different with the parking, but at least it is in the rear and out of sight from the street. Also, I do believe that other phases of this project, if it is successful, call for taller structures which will be built in unused lots to the southeast of the intersection. Anyone know if that hotel is still going to be built across Mayfield, behind the strip on the SW corner of this intersection?

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
That's what I thought, but check this out. http://planning.city.cleveland.oh.us/bza/agenda/2010/pdf/crr7-6-10.pdf Seems to call for 3 story buildings - first floor retail and two floors of residences above that.

Is that lot on the north side of Euclid slated for two phases? I thought that was going to be all one long structure. Searching back for the footprint, I noticed that the buildings will be only 3 stories. I thought the plans called for them to be 4 stories each? I guess it is just part of the scale down?

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
There might be 25-35 pass plays called. I doubt TP actually throws 25-35 passes. He'll pull up and run on a lot of those plays.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Perhaps. Full schedule has not been released yet. Regardless, all the NBA cares about is that the Heat have to come here twice. I still have not decided whether I am going to be a part of that chaos or try to make a buck by selling my seats.

You play each team in your division 4 times and each team in the other conference twice. However, the non-divisional conference teams very between 3 and 4 games for the season. 16 games in division + 30 games out of conference + 40 games in conference = 86 games. So, they play 4 conference teams only 3 times per season.

But MTS is NOT a premium member..... currently, that is. Rumors are swirling about a AmEx that was cut up at Barney's, but I don't believe a word of it.

Cleveland: University Circle: Uptown (UARD)
^You can use the Google Maps streetview tool to view it. The location is along Euclid Avenue immediately to the east of the Mayfield/Ford intersection. One building will go on the surface lots on the NE corner of that intersection and another building will go roughly where the strip mall is on the SE corner of that intersection, but slightly more to the east because of the MOCA building planned right at that intersection.

Where are the sensationalist news stories about these other assaults and robberies????????????? Are those victims not worthy of Action News' attention?

For those of us that take the shoreway to the West Bank, you practically have to drive right by these project every time. One of the worst mistakes in City planning history. I imagine they thought it would be OK to put the projects there because of the industrial site immediately to the north, but IMO these projects frustrates developement of the entire West Bank, which would have so much more potential otherwise.

I still don't get the point. E 12th is part of downtown. W 25th is not. I would, however, argue that this part of W 25th is indeed different than E 12th/13th at night. I would and have walked down those two streets at night (staying mindful of surrounding of course). I would never venture into Lakeview Terraces at night..... or during the day for that matter. I am going to report you to the local PC Board in Seattle for that one.

Even if the victims were looking to score some drugs, they are still innocent in the beating IMO. I would like to know where their friends house was that they were walking to.

North of Route 2 up the hill from the West Bank of the Flats. If you get off Route 2 and loop around to go to the flats, you pass right by these housing projects. Anyone who knows anything about the City knows to not wander about around there. You wouldn't go to Playhouse Square, or the Q, or 4th Street, etc. if you got beaten up on W. 25th and Division? What if you got beat up at Beachwood Mall? Would you never go to the City of Beachwood again? Not sure where in the H-E-double hockey sticks the "selfish" comment comes from. What exactly is selfish about blasting the media for publishing a misleading story?.... which, if you haven't noticed, has been edited since it was first printed. We always tell people on here that you have to be aware in urban settings. Getting lost and winding up in or near the projects is a perfect example. I feel terrible for these guys and I am not blaming them at all. Unfortunately, for the people that have to actually live there, this is a non-story because people get jumped in the projects all the f'in time.... although it takes victims like these for there to actually be a story about it.
