  1. "Brian says he'll never come back to downtown." That's the most unfortunate line in the whole story, but you can't really blame the media source for printing it if that is what the guy said to them.
  2. Shame on 19 Action News, but this is what we have come to expect from them. It is the most tabloid-esque news outlet we have. I'm not sure I understand your point about the NAACP though. Are you suggesting that there would be a public outcry if the victims were black? I don't know about that. I highly doubt beatings of young black men in and near the projects gets much media attention, if any at all.
  3. Agreed. Except I decided to add some emphasis. My opinion would change if the site was west of E55.
  4. I never realized that people in Cleveland were on the trendy side (for better or worse) until I had moved to NC. I also never realized exactly how bad our roads are until I had moved to NC.
  5. I hear the guy (Kluber) we got for Westbrook was the top pitching prospect in the San Diego organization. Amazingly, we got a good prospect (Soto) for Peralta as well. Both guys are 6"4. Kluber was leading his league in strikeouts and was averaging more than 1 KO per inning. The sky is not falling. I like that they are officially going young. Reminds me a bit of the early 90's. They've got some good prospects still yet to make their debuts. Until baseball puts in some type of real salary cap, this is how it is going to have to be for many teams. The Tribe has to focus on making at least one legitimate run every 5 years. Sadly, that's the most we can realistically ask of our owner and front office.
  6. The Dad deserved an Oscar for this performance: There were several of these. Groundbreaking in terms of being so corny and annoying that they were comically laughable. Sort of akin to, now, when a show like Family Guy repeats something over and over and over to the point that it somehow surpasses being annoying and becomes funny again. The Mentos commercials were also just a great satire of the commercials at that time which all tried to sell you on the fact that everything in your life would be fantastic if you use their product.... as if, for example, the soap you used in your morning shower was going to make all the difference in your day (that is not an invitation for debate, MTS). As mentioned above, the Terry Tate videos are hysterical... although I'm not sure if they can be called a "TV commercial" (WARNING: profanity) Terry Tate Office Linebacker

Joey Graham has signed. Probably the last move we make before the season starts if I had to guess.
  8. It is going to be great to have Coventry, LI and Uptown all within walking distance of each other..... coupled with the fact that the Healthline and Red Line offer easy and quick access to downtown from those locations. This is a great addition to our urban fabric. With all the developement (Coltman, Circle 118, Uptown, MOCA, UH construction, CCF construction), that stretch of Euclid which runs through UC will be almost unrecognizable from what it was just 5 years ago.

I don't believe so, but they are in the same area. They were built-out about 7-8 years ago I believe. My brother rented there for a year and he like it. I think he was paying just under $800/mo for a one-bedroom. Washer/dryer are in the unit, which is a plus. They are right accross from the law school, between E 18th and E 21st. I believe there is a little market going in one of the retail spaces in that strip as well.

1900 Euclid Avenue has one-bedrooms and is practically right on campus.

I'll give him a chance. I wasn't happy that they drafted him in the first place, but I do like his athleticism. I'd just be concerned if he does have to move to safety. I think you two are talking about two different players. Both Brown and Haden will begin the season at corner. We may have an issue though at free safety (Asante, Ward and Elam are all really strong safeties) which may cause a switch for one of those guys, but I doubt it. I am pretty sure that Magini's defense can be executed with the safeties we have.

^I heard that was quite a scene. I was near the top of the Dawg Pound up near the scoreboard (where the true DP is located in the new stadium) last year when some knucklehead tried to walk up the stairs in a Ravens jersey. Stadium security could not even handle the fiasco that ensued and had to run to get back up from real police. Peanuts, popcorn and beer were flying from everywhere.
  13. Problems with the AmEx black card?

R.I.P. Lorenzen Wright - http://www.commercialappeal.com/news...renzen-wright/ Sounds like foul play. 39 years old and 6 kids. EDIT: Link appears broken. He had been declared missing a few days ago. He was found in the woods in Memphis. No details yet, but the story said that he was carrying quite a bit of cash when he left his ex-wife's home.

^^Too young. We are talking about the fashion disaster that was the late 80's and very early 90's. And make sure they are the Reebok "Pumps"

I hope to be disoriented this weekend.
  19. RnR posted the answer above. There is a thread on how to post pics, FYI. For the picture to be an Avatar, I think you might need to take some extra steps.
  20. What up MTS? You don't wear those silver stars all that well. Red was a much better color on you. Is it a seasonal thing?

I have never heard that before. Honestly. Old Man Dan posted it at the top of the previous page.

The Pacers turned down way more from the Nets (Harris, Yi and #3 pick) than we could ever offer for Granger. He was never a realistic possibility. Bird is greedy in trades - i.e. wanted Z, JJ AND a 1st round pick for Troy Murphy last year.
  23. Reagan was a tyrant?
  24. ^Blasphemy! How dare you accuse the late, great Ronald Reagan of abusing federal power by signing the National Minimum Drinking Age Act of 1984 into law.

Scrabble - there ARE black extremists. Everyone knows that. But NEWSFLASH.... there are white extremists TOO, yet you never seem to post any articles/videos on them. Not very "fair and balanced" of you...
