Cleveland: Good place to stay near CSU
If you stay at the Holiday Inn, a cab would be a waste of money. Just take the Healthline straight down Euclid if you don't want to walk the 10-15 blocks. Really, that goes for anywhere you might stay downtown. BTW, the Comfort Inn referenced above used to be "Swingos" which Kate Hudson referenced in "Almost Famous" as the coolest hotel in the whole Country. Definitely not true now (if it ever was) but thought I would just throw that out there.

Moving to Cleveland.....where to LIVE
^ I stayed on the Strip near La Cienega for a week last year. Right accross from the Saddle Ranch and next to The Standard. I had a great time... but personally witnessed the police taping off two crime scenes. One was for a death at the building accross the street (not sure what happened - one person told me an overdose and another told me a murder) and another was when the rapper Dolla was shot outside a nearby mall I drove by on the way back to the hotel. To the OP, Cleveland is like most every big city. We have our fair share of crime. But the areas we will direct you to are IMO safe enough. Given your wants, I would check out downtown and maybe accross the river for places such as Stonebridge (some might criticize the quality). IMO, you can't beat the Residences at 668 which are right in the heart of downtown. For more of a "neighborhood" feel and not so much of a "concrete jungle" you may want to expand your search into the Heights areas (Cleveland Heights, Shaker Heights) or Lakewood, but most of the places there will be older without the amenities you seek (granite, washer/dryer, etc.)

Cleveland: Good place to stay near CSU
Peabody's is on East 21st street, right by Euclid. It is on the fringe of Downtown. You could stay anywhere Downtown or in University Circle using the BRT to travel Euclid Ave. Check out this site - http://www.downtownclevelandhotels.net/ Hope you have enough time to soak in a bit more than Peabody's. If music is your thing, there are multiple venues you could hop around to.

1900 Euclid would be another option, right on the downtown fringe abutting CSU's campus. Washer-dryer in units. I believe there is a small gym on the first floor and parking in the basement. Healthline right outside.

You might want to check out the Alcazar (apt. building) in the Cedar-Fairmount neighborhood as well.

We already have a very high percentage of Corporate HQ's... albeit not a lot of Fortune 500's anymore.

There are a lot of factors to consider: 1) Do you want something newer (more modern) or something with more "character"? (Regardless, we won't direct you to a dump). 2) What is your preferred price range? 3) What do you like to do when not at work? (recreationally and socially) 4) Any pets? 5) What type of neighborhood are you accustomed to and prefer? (urban, suburban) I assume you are looking to rent, and not buy. Within a 15 minute drive to the hospitals, you have several options and they vary greatly in characteristics so some more information woud aid us in making some recommendations.

"Barriers"? Do you mean measures such as erecting police stations at the borders and entering into mutual aid contracts that allow the patrol to extend into the bordering neighborhood?

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I figured that Saturday night might just have been 'dead' downtown with no Indians game and the chilly weather. However, a friend of mine went down there and said it was 'lively'. This is just 'Joe-Kim' trying to punch back after getting harrassed at the Q the other night by the fans.

Just make sure to stay in your car with your windows rolled up :) We won't hold it against you if there is a glare present in your pictures.

You can bet the farm on that! I am fairly certain that God never even considered MTS for mass production.

Nah... I think he just enjoys imagining you working in the dirt with a straw hat, cut off jean shorts and kneepads.- Ohio: Fortune 500 Companies Updates & Discussion
Is it better to have one Fortune 500 company with $10 billion in revenue or is better to have 20 smaller companies with $500 million in revenue each? Cleveland has been burned so many times by the former (BP, TRW, OfficeMax, etc.), I have to think the diversity we rest our laurels on now is better.... at least for us. Doesn't Cleveland have one of the higher corporate HQ's numbers in the Country (albeit mostly smaller companies)?- Pet Peeves!
No...I'm talking about the "gardener". Watch out Avogadro. I think MTS is developing some kind of fantasy with you starring as the "gardener".... better that than the pool boy I suppose.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
Unless Berry (UTenn Safety) drops into our laps, I expect us to trade down and pick up a vet or two along the way like we did last year. It was a good gameplan then and still fits our needs.- Cleveland Googlemaps Scavenger Hunt
