The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
^They're gonna have to move Bosa inside on a full-time basis for the Fiesta Bowl. DT is probably our 'thinnest' position (no irony intended).

Cleveland City Council
Yeah..... if only they had dedicated the time spent passing this measure to crime, poverty, lack of jobs, etc., all problems would be solved. Silly council.

^Huh? The rapid was built with the express purpose of shuttling people from the suburbs to the city and vice-versa.

Cleveland: Warehouse District: Development and News
Despite the wisdom of this statement, who doesn't like to imagine things? I took the tallest building and tried my hand at Sketch Up. Not the easiest task in the world as I would find out. What happened to the top of the Key Tower??

Hipsters
Probably depends on where in Ohio you are talking about. As a whole, Ohio is just more steady fashion-wise than "the Bay".... and the Bay area certainly is no NYC, Miami, or LA when it comes to fashion trends. I realize I come from an area of Ohio (and Greater CLE for that matter) which marches to a bit of a different beat fashion-wise, but what is now considered "hipster" had its elements here well before it became really trendy is places that care more about trends. Elements of it go back to the mid-90's and became more widespread later in that decade.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Interesting rumor floating around. Supposing they do fire Pettine (which I think they should), who takes over. O'Neil should be packing his bags with Pettine.... no excuse for this defense with the heavy investment on that side of the ball. DeFillipo has not been terrible considering the complete lack of talent he was given at the skill positions, but he's just so young. So.... how about ST coach Chris Tabor? He was the one member of the staff they kept from the last regime. He's a fiery guy too. I like the idea.

^^thats what racists do. They use fringe members of the race they hate as a whole to justify their hate. Sort of the very essence of racism

The Browns shouldn't want Urban and he shouldn't want them. Give me Hue Jackson. And then spend some $$ on an experienced D-coordinator

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Not that it caused the kick to be blocked, but the Ravens lined up offsides on that play As for the rest of the game, at least it was entertaining. Perhaps one of the more entertaining MNF games this year. I was thinking we were going to get blown out, especially when the Ratbirds went up 10-0. But it wasn't a total embarrassment to watch..... and, sadly, that is about all we can hope for as Browns fans.

US Economy: News & Discussion
Oh, I remember fights at the mall. Might've been in a few during my youth. There just weren't any cell phones to record them and post them on YouTube. Regardless, you are also recollecting a day when you weren't so jaded. You're getting old, my man.

US Economy: News & Discussion
Internet shopping AND big box stores. That's what killed the malls. Also, stores with outdoor access were not as prevalent, or at least not as clustered into 'lifestyle centers', during the heyday of indoor malls. Moroever, new, bigger, and better indoor malls contributed to the downfall of their predecessors. Beachwood took the high-end away from Severance. I would suspect places like SouthPark did the same for ParmaTown and Randall. Now, Beachwood and SouthPark are dealing with places like Legacy Village, Eton and Crocker Park, which weren't around a few decades ago. Richmond lost its anchor tenant because another Macy's opened up at University Square. Loitering might be a small part of the problem, but hardly the driving force. Kids always loitered in malls (i.e. "mallrats"). They were always viewed as somewhat of a nuisance, but people still shopped at malls when their alternatives were fewer.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
I may not have read the story carefully enough, but in fairness to the police, it sounds as if the call came in after the attack had occurred and the suspects had fled, not while the crime was in progress. In that case, a 16 minute response time is not at all outrageous. I'm always skeptical of a Ed Galek story. He gets paid to sensationalize things.

Isn't the entire idea of relocating the JC to open up prime real estate for other uses?
-
Cleveland: Downtown: May Company Building
Sounds like the City, in some capacity, is going to purchase the property and then convey it back to the owners in order to meet some chain of title pre-requisite for state authorized tax increment financing provided by local ordinance(?)

Best Bengals team I have seen since the last Super Bowl team. Might be better than that team. Very well-rounded. No apparent weaknesses.

If they are out for money, they don't have a very good gameplan. You don't make money in sports by overpaying FAs and putting a losing product on the field.
