Cleveland Browns Discussion
What do you think the question is? It's not like they have him slotted as one of their starters. He's a bottom of the roster project...... the 6th or 7th WR on s team which lacks top end talent at the position. At a minimum, he offers the potential for a different look opposing DCs are going to have to gameplan for ^^^that was not a wildcat formation

I also agree with the comment upthread that opening up the view of the church from the west has a nice effect

Hts121 replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Restaurants, Local Events, & EntertainmentI don't think edale was saying that it would be taller than MF or TTD. He was simply saying that it is the 'biggest ride ever' in its category, which is typical for any new CP coaster. Of course CF does not want King's Island competing with it in the coaster field. CP is a global draw and CF will always put the biggest and best at CP to continue and expand upon that effect.

Cleveland Browns Discussion
Well.... Thad Lewis solidified himself last night as nothing more than an emergency QB I really didn't see anyone on the team 'flash.' Lenz a bit, I suppose. Interesting to see them line him up at FS in the 2nd half. Might be an indication they plan on keeping him as a 'utility' player. Also interesting that Pryor ran some read option plays from QB. That tells me he is on the team and the Browns just gave their opponents one more thing to have to prepare for. Looking more and more like they are going to keep 8 WRs, given the versatility of Pryor, Moore, and Lenz to fill other needs on the roster.

Everytime this 'rivalry' is raised in here, it brings me back to that Seinfeld 'insignificant piece of dust' line.

^True, but I'm not so down on this. Putting aside aesthetics, I would bet this building will create more foot traffic on that side of Euclid than what was there (yes, I realize that 5 +1 is more than just 5). As much as CSU is bashed on here, the increase in foot traffic over the past several years on the CSU stretch of Euclid is amazing to me and I applaud the university for its contribution to the downtown scene.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
^I don't know how successful such an elderly man would have been in a knife attack. Nor would a man standing with a knife been such a threat to police. In addition to physical limitations, I think I have also read about the psychological differences of killing someone with a knife vs. a gun. Killing someone with a knife requires a lot more hatred and passion. Society is somewhat more desensitized to shooting. Plus, you don't have to feel the bullet cutting through flesh and bone. It's why some real maniacs actually prefer a knife. ^^It's a deadly combination. Unfortunately, we can't do anything to prevent that without spitting on the constitution and pissing on the graves of American soldiers.

I've said it before and will say it again. Buildings like this are easy to build and (wait for it....) easy to tear down. If something phenomenal happens which makes this land ripe for multi-use development even during the anticipated life of this building (which I don't expect is very long), Geis or whatever owner won't hesitate to tear it down. They are in the business to make money, not thumb their nose at urban enthusiasts.

NFL: General News & Discussion
I don't know that he can be effective as a pocket QB and he is too fragile to be constantly moving him out of the pocket. He has potential, but you can't rely on him to be your franchise QB

Cleveland Browns Discussion
I don't know why Phil getting cut would have any bearing on Pryor making the team. Maybe it indicates they will keep more WRs and less DLs, but I was assuming they were going to keep 7 WRs regardless. Phil being cut seems to have more to do with the desire to keep both Meder and Billy Winn, I would think.

That's how I feel about Bruce Hooley. Smart guy, good points, but his condescending tone and constant negativity about everything makes it so I can't listen to him, which if fine because I enjoy Bull and Fox during that same timeslot.

Very curious to see what the Browns do at WR with the cuts looming. You'd think that Bowe and Hartline are certainties. Then you have Hawkins, Gabriel, and Benjamin (do they keep all three midgets?). That's five. The coaching staff loves Marlon Moore for his special teams impact. Vince Mayle hasn't shown much but was a 4th round pick.... although the Pats just cut their 4th round WR yesterday. Terrelle Pryor might have the most potential of the bunch but not a lick of NFL experience at the position. Lentz and Jennings have been pleasant surprises during camp. Keeping 7 of those guys is possible, I suppose. Somebody is going to get cut who will get picked up by another NFL team. I'm also interested to see if Jamie Meder makes the team, which would mean they keep three NTs (Kitchen was cut). Not out of the question since Big Phil is injury prone.

NFL: General News & Discussion
Greatest (best) loss in NFL history might have been the January '12 defeat of the Colts by the Jaguars. That loss secured the top pick for the Colts in the upcoming draft, in which they selected Andrew Luck. Picks 2-7 were RGIII (Skins wants to trade him), TRich (just cut by the Raiders), Matt Kalil (decent OL but injury prone), Justin Blackmon (just signed by a CFL team), Morris Claiborne (backup CB on Cowboys), Mark Barron (recently traded by the Bucs for two later round draft picks)

Cleveland: One University Circle
We sure are. I'm working on a project involving Canada and it always strikes me how many residential high-rises they have in cities smaller than Cleveland. London, Hamilton, Kitchener etc. all have a tremendous number of high-rises. Some cities are just more low rise in nature, residentially. Cleveland is one of them... Surprisingly Philadelphia, despite being several times bigger and denser than Cleveland, is another. Only over the last 10-15 years have residential high rises been sprouting up ... almost exclusively in Center City. Before that, rowhouses, twins, brownstones and small apartment buildings were, and still are, the dominant residential housing type. This in a city (proper) of 1.5M. I'm not absolutely certain, but I think for years Philadelphia had a law that no building could be higher than City Hall, which of course is at the exact center of downtown. It wasn't a law, but an honored tradition, that nothing would be built which would block William Penn's view of his woods

Chris Haynes is not with the "pd" and all he is doing is citing the Mike Scotto report of speculation that something might happen with TT and Toronto next summer. It gets clicks for both him and Scotto

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^It didn't mean "bye-bye" for Rich Paul's other client who rolled the dice on the qualifying offer.... Eric Bledsoe. Did you read the Sheridan Hoops story? It said some league executives are speculating that TT may be headed north. It didn't even come from Paul or anyone in TT's camp. It is some executive throwing the possibility out there and some writer over at Sheridan attaching it to some juicy click-bait. Ever heard of Mike Scotto? I hadn't either, prior to yesterday. As for TT turning down the 5/80 offer, that has been confirmed for some time. Nor has he signed the QO. They are at a stale-mate, waiting for one side to flinch. As for LeBron, he wouldn't take it as a slap in the face. TT was offered more than his FMV.

Thanks for the suggestions. Sorry (but happy at the same time) to say that getting a reservation for a Saturday date night is becoming increasingly difficult. Trentina seemed like a good choice, but no availability. Butcher and the Brewer doesn't take reservations, but offered to put us on the 'call ahead list'. I settled on Urban Farmer. We'll give it a try.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Whispers? C'mon man. Nobody credible has said that. Show us a link. LeBron will finish his career here, absent this franchise going in to tank mode. Bank on that. And this TT to Toronto rumor is more than ridiculous. I'm sure TT has some desire to go home, but he can't demand more money than Jonas V, who just signed for less than what TT has turned down from the Cavs. Toronto does not have Dan Gilbert at the helm. They are much more in the practice of not going into the luxury tax. The bottom line is that this team will be elite with or without TT for the foreseeable future. He is a great piece, but not much more than just a piece..... certainly not a centerpiece..... to a championship roster.
