Ohio: General Business & Economic News
Ironically, Kasich touts the job gains in Ohio the same way Obama does for the nation. Specifically, he focuses on private sector job gains, even though there is a significant offset from public sector losses. The only difference is that Obama can and does decry the public sector losses. Kasich is pretty much prohibited from doing so, if for no other reason than a lot of those losses are the result of his policies.

Cincinnati: Crime & Safety Discussion
^Perhaps, but the cop might be dead. I'd think the last thing you'd want to do in that situation is taser the driver due to the reflex it causes in the muscles, specifically here the leg which was applying pressure to the gas pedal.

Visiting Cle
It's doable, but a lot of walking. The topography is a lot easier than what you are used to I suppose Here's a suggestion you could consider tocut it down a bit . From Coventry, walk just a but east on Mayfield to Superior or Lee and get on the #40. That will take you south on Lee Rd, through the Cedar-Lee District if you wanted to check that out and on to Shaker Blvd, where you can hook back up with the Green Line into Shaker Square

Visiting Cle
There's no reason why you can't try the canolis at Presti's and Corbo's. Be your own judge and then walk them off on your way up the hill to Coventry ;)

Visiting Cle
Beyond what you listed..... Edgewater Park (the beach/park to the west of downtown) Coventry (Cleveland Heights, near Little Italy) Gordon Square Arts District (west of downtown, beyond OC)

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
Although the beaches were owned by the State, wasn't it the City's duty to manage/maintain them?

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
I would trust CH to bring out the best in Forest Hills more than Cleveland. I also suspect the residents of that area have a much stronger connection to CH. But I love the idea mentioned above of giving the park itself to the Metroparks.

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
We went again yesterday and I'm happy to report that there was absolutely no trash in the water. Must've been the storms and flooding. There was an awesome sand castle building contest going on. Some really artistically creative stuff

Northeast Ohio: Regionalism News & Discussion
Isn't there a tax benefit to both working and living in the City of Cleveland, as opposed to working in the City and living in the suburbs? If so, the Forest Hills neighborhood could see its status rise due to the great housing stock and proximity to UC.

Is there a difference between a merger and an annexation?

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
What time was that? I was there from 2-5 and there was easily 3x (probably more) people. We had to walk all the way down to the last lifeguard post to find any space to claim

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
The beach itself was very clean and there were workers walking around actively picking up anything they found, including the water within a few feet of the beach. The trash I saw floating was most likely not from the beach but had floated in with the tide somehow. Maybe the recent storms has exasperated the problem some

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
It was floating in the water at the beach. a ton of it. Kinda gross

Cleveland: Edgewater Park
Yesterday, I took my cousins from Philly to Edgewater. It was he first time I had been since the metroparks took over. Wow. What a difference. The water is stilled filled with trash unfortunately but the beach and the park are immaculate. And it was packed and vibrant. My cousins were really impressed, commenting that they liked it way better than the Jersey Shore.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Don't forget that Tristan is a restricted FA. We can match any offer he gets and he won't get one better than what is on the table. My guess is the two sides are haggling over the length of the deal and the inclusion of player or team options on the back end of it. TT's camp is probably threatening to sign the one year tender the Cavs had to extend to secure their rights to him, which would make him an unrestricted FA next summer when the cap jumps. He's as close to injury proof as you get so he can take the risk

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^^Not so much during the first playoff run. The second run, yes he played poorly. That is the lasting memory people have, I suppose.
-
Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^^not really. GS took control of the series when it shortened its own bench, only playing seven for any significant amount of minutes in games 4-6. It's a time tested strategy. The problem was that, with the Cavs injuries, their seven was better than our seven

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I have some hope that Harris can become a solid role player. He has the size, build, technique and athleticism. He just needs to get some swagger about him

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
^Smokin' Joe Harris. Also, TT is not back 'for sure' yet, but it is about as close to sure as you can get As for the depth chart, I suspect Shump starts. He can guard the best perimeter player on either team and doesn't demand touches to be effective so he is somewhat of a perfect 2 to put between LBJ and Kyrie I think Delly returns and they keep Christmas on the team, so that gets us to 10, with 5 open spots. JR Smith is not a lock to return, but I'd say it is better than 50/50 at this point. For right now, I'd bet they wait to see what they get back for Haywood's contract, if anything, before rounding out the roster.

NBA: General News & Discussion
The DeAndre Jordan saga was fun to follow last night. One of the most ridiculous and fantastic nights on twitter I can remember. An emoji battle went full-scale

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
LeBron, through his agent, has officially announced he is going to sign another 1-and-1. So much for those 'sources' saying that he won't commit until the Cavs re-signed TT. An interesting note to this is that it is the first time in his career that LeBron has been an unrestricted free agent and decided to re-sign with his team.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
MoFlo Technically correct, but he was picked with the intent of trading him to the Spirs that same night for George Hill. So he was chosen by the Spurs brass The guy he will be backing up had two of those four games
