Two of their superstars (Curry and Thompson) most likely were spoiled children.

NBA: General News & Discussion
Last year in the Finals, they lost Bogut in Game 2 and that changed the way they could defend us. Iggy also hurt either his hamstring or groin and was not the same in the final 3-4 games of that series. Certainly not as bad as us playing without Kyrie and Love the first year, but the injury bug did bite them last year and we benefited from that.

^If it included the playoffs, then it wouldn't be the Regular Season MVP. There is the All-Star Game MVP, the Regular Season MVP, and the NBA Finals MVP. All separate awards. But I get what you are saying. I've suggested adding a new award for either Most Outstanding Player or Offensive Player of the Year, or both. We already have a Defensive Player of the Year award. These awards would allow individual accomplishments (ie Westbrook averaging a triple double) to be the main concern, whereas MVP could focus exclusively on who actually is "most valuable" to his team.

With the NFL's latest denial of Josh Gordon's request for reinstatement, I saw this gem on twitter.... "If Josh Gordon had beaten Mary Jane instead of smoking her, he'd still be in the league."

Right. Same station. But she has been gone for years, right? When did she come back and when was she on?

Wasn't that the same lady who was fired years ago from RBS for going on a homophobic rant?

^Not every City. L.A. is an example of a city that really doesn't have all that much of an emotional engagement to its local sports teams. It varies and Cleveland's, I would say, is particularly strong. Boston is even stronger.

This. I am a cleveland fan and i will watch the browns when they are good...but i honestly wondered what our city would look like if everyone took all that Browns energy and dedicated it to, ya know, something productive for our city. Imagine if everyone in the City stopped drinking alcohol and directed all that energy and money to something productive for our City. Or imagine if everyone did community service around their neighborhoods instead of going to church on Sunday, temple on Saturday, etc.

If you think that by witnessing the emotions invested in the Cavs and Indians these past few years, wait till you get a load of the City when the Browns make a run at it. You ain't seen nothing until you've seen Browns Town in its evening gown- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
Being totally objective, if everyone is healthy, the Warriors have to be the favorite. BUT, the past two Finals have been impacted by injury. Cavs went in without Love and Irving two years ago and LeBron and Delly both suffered from severe cramping during the series. Last year, Bogut went down, Iggy was seriously hampered, and Green got suspended for a game. I suspect some similar phenomena is going to impact this year's series.- What are you watching?
Guardians of the Galaxy II was just as funny and entertaining as the first one IMO. Although I thought the story line was a bit cheesy, the movie is not the typical disappointing retread sequel.- Cleveland Cavs Discussion
I've never seen LeBron better. He's peaking.... maybe.... at 32- The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion

Careful what you wish for. The City could do a LOT worse than Frank Jackson. Your assessment of him is not accurate. Persuasion is not one of his strong suits. He's terrible at addressing a crowd. What he has done is focused some initiatives that have paid off well for the City proper and not racked up huge amounts of debt in doing so. He's at least ensured that, unlike the 90's, our resurgence is not so gilded. He's far from the complete package and I would be in favor of replacing him with someone who was less 'conservative' in his approach to governing..... i.e. someone who took some more risks and thought 'bigger' If for no other reason than to not confuse the police (if you believe the scuttlebutt, they are confused..... I don't believe it, btw), I still hate the term 'no chase policy.' It is a police pursuit policy and hardly unique to Cleveland and its surrounding communities. Best practices are being developed across the country on the issue of police pursuits. Not one city has prohibited police from chasing suspects in totality. Nothing even close to that. The bottom line is there is a whole lot of grey area between a "no chase policy" and allowing police officers, at their discretion, to engage in high speed chases through densely populated areas while shooting at the suspect rear tires while throwing hand grenades at the front ones.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
The UDFA signing which pleased me the most was Kai Nacua. Big ball-hawking safety who NFL teams probably viewed as not athletic enough to make the same impact in the pros as he did in college. We shall see. Having a 'nose for the ball' is a lot like speed..... can't really be coached.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
I viewed Kizer as having the highest ceiling of this entire QB class. Definitely worth the risk at 52. He was generally thought of as a top 10 pick the last time he stepped on a football field. Maybe analytics told them to not over analyze? I'll bet the 'hit' ratio is much higher on guys who drop between Januaryband April than it is on guys who make major leaps on big boards through the same timeframe.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
You were likely pulled over in Shaker, which has a helmet law.- Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
You'd definitely be charged with attempted murder and you'd be in prison for a long time. You are forgetting about the "no chase" policy. If the cops try to arrest you, all you have to do is walk away and they can't chase you.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
^There's also the kid from UCLA (Rosen). In the end though, I think the one from Ok St. passes both.... watch the name Mason Rudolph.- Cleveland Browns Discussion
