^Miller is cleared to play, and reportedly will replace Marion in the starting lineup tonight. That will move Marion to the bench as the swing position sub.
  2. Bosa would've made one helluva Mob goon

Big trade last night with Rondo going to Dallas in exchange for Brandon Wright, Jae Crowder, a 1st round pick and a 2nd round pick. Wright is vastly underrated IMO, but the Mavs still got a steal. The West just got a little bit better, as that conference seems to do every year by its teams being 'buyers' and some team from the East having a fire sale.

These guys have to deal with stupid questions throughout their career. Kyrie has always been decent to the media. He is allowed a bit of snark now and then. The media certainly dishes it out when they report on any woes/struggles. That's one thing I love about Coach Pop with the Spurs..... he has no hesitancy to call a reporter out for asking a stupid question.
  5. While he might be sincere, I'd think the developer is going to posture for the time being after losing out on this. He wants government funding to increase his profits. If I was the City/County/State, I'd tell him to either sh!t or get off the toilet. Somebody will make this project happen. If 1717 E9th happened, this project is largely inevitable.
  6. I think he should've held out for a more prestigious job, which he was bound to get with continued success at OSU (think D'Antonio). Is he even going to get paid more as HC of Houston than he did as OC of OSU. I thought OSU's asst coaches were amongst the highest paid...
  7. Sure, size matter ;). But doesn't size also impact potential profits. The number of apartments they could tuck into this prime location and the proven track record of recent conversions should significantly help with financing. That's just me using my common sense, as I know next to nothing about financing developments.
  8. I don't know squat about Music Hall, but I don't see any injustice towards the May Co. Building not being picked. That project is going to happen with or without these tax credits. The market for apartments in downtown is hot enough right now that a developer should be able to turn a profit on the rehab/conversion and certainly (I would think) will get the lower historic tax credits to do so.
  9. Nothing that I am aware of, other than the general presumption that Ficker was a swell guy based on outward appearance.

Was the bet still on with Wiggins going to the TWolves? Hmmmmm..... I think so. Yeah, that's a tough break for Jabari. FWIW, he was in the lead for ROY. I'll give you that Wiggins has come along a lot better than I thought for his rookie year, but he is also playing on a terrible team and getting a lot of touches. Parker was a legit contributor for a surprisingly decent Bucks team. Their numbers were somewhat similar when Parker went down, although Parker was shooting 49% and Wiggins is shooting 39%. So his efficiency was much higher.

Hawks got their revenge for the rout we had of them earlier this year. Seemed like we lost our defensive focus at some point during that game, probably out of frustration with the Hawks shooting the lights out. They had a guy (Mack) who shoots 20% from downtown going 6-6 from 3 and scoring a career high..... at least that is where he was when I turned it off. In the NBA, you have to live with these types of games every month or so.
  12. Yeah..... that is going to happen. It's a threat the police can't ignore, but I highly, highly doubt it is legitimate, and even if it was stated, there is no intention to actually follow through. The Ficker case is over three years old. One reason it might not have stirred any lengthy debate is because there was no reactionary, racially-motivated push back to any protest of the shooting like we automatically see each and every time a case like Crawford arises. Didn't do anything wrong? Ficker fought with the police officers and was shot in the course of that struggle. Not after he ran away. Not after the cops had him subdued. Was he not a thug? Have you seen his criminal history? He had a history of being uncooperative with cops, was facing stalking/prowling charges, had repeated instances of being disorderly and making death threats. The cops were investigated and cleared. You can't legitimately compare that case to the Crawford case. It is much more analogous, although certainly not the same given that the kill shots were fired DURING a struggle, as the Mike Brown case.
  13. Jackson is a democrat, but a liberal he is not.
  14. I know one thing that Jackson, Holder and Obama have in common....
  15. ^Nobody is stopping you from bringing him into the discussion. Just because it is 3 years old (the most likely reason for the omission), does not mean it is off-limits. Has anyone told you to drop it? What is your opinion on that incident? Was the cop guilty of something?
  16. I fail to see the connection. What in his answer made you think that he is not going to raise his son to have respect? That loose inference runs completely opposite of the major theme of his response, IMO.
  17. Hawkins' response to the criticism was a masterpiece. Pretty much as close to beyond reproach as you can get on a sensitive subject such as this.... http://www.cleveland.com/metro/index.ssf/2014/12/hawkins_delivers_emotional_res.html

LBJ and Buffet talk regularly and communicated more often via email. He calls him "Uncle Warren"

I somewhat doubt that Buffett came here just to go to the game, even if that was the impetus for the trip. Never hurts to have perhaps the world's largest private investor visit your City. Yet another incalculable aspect re the economic impact of the Return of the King has on this City.
  20. The Justice Center is a huge driver of downtown foot traffic. If you take it out of the heart, you'd lose that. You'd also possibly lose downtown office tenants (law firms) whose main motivation for being downtown is to be within walking distance of the Justice Center. Plus, for practicality purposes, you have to understand that the Old County Courthouse essentially acts as an annex to the Justice Center, so keeping the two right across the street from each other is a must.

Add Warren Buffet to the list of global icons who have visited Cleveland in the past month to see the Cavs. Here's one with Andy (not sure how to get an Instagram photo to embed) -

I think with the current make-up of the D with injuries, we can hang with passing teams, but grind it out teams are going to grind it out on us. Our fantastic depth on the D-line is gone and our leader of the front 7 is out. Also, don't underestimate the effect Gibson's 'center field' skills has on the rest of the defense. We have to play more passive up front with him out.

^No they weren't. I think Hoyer actually got every benefit of the doubt. Some he deserved. Some he got because he was a hometown kid and an over-achiever. His play was indisputably terrible over the past four weeks......... four. It is not as if he had one bad game and was yanked. The coaches tried to stick with him. I think defenses finally got his tendencies down and started jumping routes on his throws and otherwise putting him in uncomfortable situations. The best thing Hoyer did was burn the blitz. Cincy would not have stacked 8 in the box against him like they did Manziel. But they would have sat back and waited for one of his passes to go awry to pick it off. Hoyer tries to expose mistakes, but if the defense plays more conservative, he is limited in what he can do. That seems to have been the book on him. In all honesty, Hoyer should have had perhaps as many as double the picks he ended up with. He was extremely lucky on more plays than I can count that the defender did not come up with the ball.
  24. ^Matthew Burrell - http://247sports.com/Player/Matthew-Burrell-27604 Ms. Williams took no lip, for sure.

Worst game of the year by the defense and worst game of the year by the O-line (ironically, the first Cincy game was probably the best game played by those two units). WRs dropped a few balls. I'm not staunchly defending Manziel, and am certainly no Johnny Football honk, but his performance was not on the top of my list as to why we played so miserably. We really missed the middle of our defense (Taylor, Dansby, Gipson), our third string center looked like a 3rd string center, and our WRs were not competing for balls. On top of that, we had some tough breaks, starting right on that initial drive when the refs missed a blatant hold on 3rd down which would have caused the Bengals to punt...... I mean our guy (I think it was Kruger) was literally tackled by the blocker. Then Mingo gets that penalty on what should've been another stop on 3rd down. Then Haden drops that INT (it would have been a great catch if he got it). Then Haden goes down. I'm surprised the margin of victory was not bigger than what it was. If we had played like that against one of those Steelers teams from 10 years ago, it would have been one of those 51-0 shellackings.
