The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
My man, Marshon Lattimore, took a redshirt after having surgery to repair the hamstring which had bothered him since his senior year of high school. Even with the bad wheel, he was competing for playing time and even in consideration for the starting CB opposite Grant which was eventually won by Eli Apple. In the interest of full disclosure, I think Apple would've won the job regardless..... I do, however, suspect that Lattimore would've had a very good shot at the nickel spot ahead of Reeves and Conley. Looks like you should have trusted what you heard on an internet forum over your source ;) http://www.ourlads.com/ncaa-football-depth-charts/depth-chart/ohio-state/91533

Cleveland Browns Discussion
A crisis indeed: I think #77 was supposed to help out on that one. No. McCoy stunted into the Center's gap and made him look like a freshman playing in his first varsity game. At most, Greco is supposed to give the guy a shot with his left hand, which he tried to do. And keep in mind that McCoy might be the most dominant interior DL in the game today (he is the highest paid). But, regardless, no NLF OL is supposed to get pancaked like that. He has to keep his feet moving and get better leverage. I believe that actually happened twice yesterday to McDonald....... getting knocked flat on his butt by a bull rush.

Well, this is a can of worms from a legal application standpoint, but this writer for the NYT (following the Jezebel video) is proposing a law which would create a cause of action out of street harassment. http://www.nytimes.com/roomfordebate/2014/10/31/do-we-need-a-law-against-catcalling/street-harassment-law-would-restrict-intimidating-behavior I also read something on this from the Daily Caller, which has a heavy conservative lean (to the point of dang near tipping over on its side). What was amusing about that 'coverage' was the uncertainty and palpable uneasiness it had with offering an opinion. After all, it either has to take the side of what it would call femi-nazis or pass on the chance to berate the behaviors of (mostly) minority men. It also is conscious of the slippery slope agreeing with the NYT piece would create and the general distaste it has for hate speech laws, which any 'cat-calling' law would be most comparable to. Quite the pickle it finds itself in on this one.

2014 Gubernatorial Election
Just because you take Bigfoot and Unicorns seriously, shouldn't mean I'm not allowed to joke about it...... even if I am a politician.

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
One little tid-bit not getting much play in the media is that LeBron's back is still at only about 75% and it is really hurting his lift/explosiveness. Luckily, it is a muscle issue which should clear up shortly, not a nerve or disc issue which would be more serious.

2014 Gubernatorial Election
Perhaps.... but only because it was a mid-term. You do remember that Obama won Ohio twice? Some may recall that you said that wasn't going to happen during the 2012 election ;) Remember all those friends of yours who voted for Obama but would never 'make the same mistake twice' :)

So I see Kyrie, Andy, Dion, and Tristan in the commercial. No KLove. Not surprising since he has his own shoe deal with some Chinese company.

2014 Gubernatorial Election
And you will always have a very hard time getting a liberal from NEO elected to statewide office. Better off with an Ohio River or central Ohio liberal. Too much animosity from the rest of the state, particularly the conservative factions, for good reasons in part.

2014 Gubernatorial Election
^Doubt that. Kasich would be a formidable opponent in a mid-term election for just about anyone they put up. Keep in mind that the turnout in mid-terms is much higher for conservative leaning demographics (white, older, more suburban and rural). What Ohio Dems should be pushing for is either 6 year terms (which would cause every other election to fall on the Presidential year) or for the gubernatorial election to be moved to Presidential election years, when Ohio is a 'bluer' shade of purple typically.

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
^I was hardly limiting the comment to the kids in that video, but I would guess those specific kids are older than 13. Although I would hate to give them more 'hits', check out some of their other videos. Most of them kind of fit that mold. They certainly are not the more athletic/muscular looking types. If you think about it, it makes sense. Strength in numbers is especially appealing to those with LMD

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
It probably left for the same reason I suspect Eastgate is more appealing to the present-day retailer...... better street visibility.

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
^^Well.... maybe 'a beating' is a bit extreme, but it was clearly way ahead of Eastgate not too long ago in terms of tenant appeal and then Eastgate got its makeover, stole Old Navy, landed a few other anchor tenants, and several other strip malls along SOM Center were re-habbed or newly built which landed tenants that would have otherwise gone to or near Golden Gate imho (Five Guy's, Pot Belly's, Dibella's, etc.)

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
Ever notice how it is usually the shorter, skinnier kids who get sucked in to this kind of nonsense? Thanks for the videos all over youtube, fellas. That was probably the easiest indictment the prosecutors are going to get this year.

Suburban Cleveland: Development and News
This type of development fits the area well. I wonder, however, what type of effect it will have on Golden Gate, which has been taking a beating from East Gate and other strip malls along SOM Center for the past 5-10 years.

Cleveland: General Business & Economic News
^A lot of construction workers also moved down to the sun belt and other more booming areas of the country prior to the nationwide recession, when our local economy and housing market was in recession starting around the turn of the century (?)

Daily Show interviews are a good example of the use of the type of filming/editing tactics I mentioned above. It skews the view of the audience more than a bit but doesn't make the point any less valid

Hmmmm.... in that singular scenario, I think there is a judgment call to make. A 45 year old woman on her way to work or with kids, I would say no way. Other scenarios, such as walking across a college quad, I would say go for it if you got the guts. Again, a respectful and polite approach..... not disrespectful or harassing comments yelled from afar. The gym is another huge gray area. Some women I know hate it more than anything when a guy approaches them at a gym. On the other hand, I know one woman who has been waiting for more than a year for a certain guy to approach her at her gym. She doesn't even know his name, so we jokingly call him "gym/jim guy". Of course, she thinks the guy is hot, so that makes a difference. Different women.... different preferences/tolerances.

For sure, nobody should be harassed, men or women. I just don't agree with your formalized rules. There are plenty of scenarios/situations where I think it is perfectly appropriate to try to 'pick up' a woman. It is how a few very happy couples I know initially met. It is how the parents of my god-daughter met. I was with him when he did it. Total cold approach at a diner. Don't underestimate the nerve a guy has to work up to approach a woman. He should do so politely and respectfully. I think everyone agrees that harassing and disrespectful comments are not appropriate. We can put that one to rest. That is just common sense..... a trait certainly lacking in a significant portion of the population if you haven't noticed. However, that said, don't pretend that some women (certainly not a majority) don't like/invite the 'hollas', no matter what kind of psychological mumbo-jumbo twist you can place on it.
