Start here - http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/5516 - to see if you can find an answer (there might be a corresponding OAC section). I seriously hope the signs are not "on the freeway" or "in public rights-of-way". I assume you mean 'along'..... if not, then see http://codes.ohio.gov/orc/5589.33

Political signs are usually regulated by whatever local municipality you are in. So you would look at the local code section. Courts have traditionally tended to look at those local ordinances very skeptically as they relate to a limitation on political speech. However, the Federal Circuit court in Cincinnati just gave those regulations a big boost when it upheld Garfield Heights' size limitation on political signs placed on private property. What you might be seeing are those signs the campaign staffers/volunteers (not courtroom 'minions') might place near the on-ramps/off-ramps. Depending on whether they are along a state route or an interstate highway, different regulations might apply. I think there is some distance requirement under the Highway Beautification Act for billboards, but that might not apply to your run of the mill political yard signs.

The Brown would have won the super bowl last year if they managed to win all their games. Dynamite drop-in, Monty. That broadcast school has really paid off!

^That is not the Price/Daugherty/Nance blue on the floor. That is the 'alternate' navy we have had for several of the years since 2005 or so. It is a favorite of LeBron's and I would expect the jersey to be back in the mix next year (advanced notice to the league is required). The defense was "active" in terms of getting in the passing lanes and pressuring the ball-handler. Macabi is a 'system' team and swings the ball around as well as anyone in the NBA, except maybe the Spurs. They got some good looks against us and some open lanes for cuts. I think we are a work in progress on that end. I also don't think they (the Cavs) were going 100% on defense last night. One thing for certain was that Macabi was allowed one shot and only one shot. We gobbled up pretty much all of their misses.

He is nothing more than a 2nd string QB. Nobody is calling for him to start. But backup QBs are called to play in the NFL quite often. Even with 3rd stringers, if you spot them 25 points, you'd expect them to win.

AV came off the bench and looked like AV. 15 rebounds from your backup big man is quality production, especially when TT had 13 and KLove had 11

^Whitehurst produced two of those TDs. I might agree with you otherwise, but when the Browns lose in dramatic fashion like the Titans did yesterday, we don't talk about how lucky the other team was to win. A win is a win. The largest road comeback in NFL history is the largest road comeback in NFL history. As for the division, we are one game out. The Steelers barely beat the Jags, who are unquestionably one of the worst teams in football. The Ravens lost. And the Bengals were rapidly brought down to earth by a down-and-almost-out Patriots team. If we had managed to win either the Steelers or Ravens game, we'd be tied for first.
  8. They keep getting better. Meyer has made a few key adjustments IMO. One thing he has done has to play Michael Thomas over Devin Smith. Smith drives me nuts. He is more worried about looking 'pretty' than he is about the game. He doesn't block downfield well and doesn't run good routes outside of the fly. Thomas is quickly becoming our #1 WR. Also, as I urged at the start of the season, Raekwon McMillan is getting the nod for more PT ahead of Curtis Grant...... and he is really getting after it. Also, it seems as if Barrett and Elliot are starting to get a good rhythm going on the zone read option. Elliot is a player.

I seriously lucked out. My son's soccer game started at 1pm, so I set the game to tape. However, too many parents were at the game grumbling about us falling behind early, so I decided to just start watching it live when I got home. I turned the game on when the Titans were kicking off following the TD which made it 28-3. Sooooooo...... from there I watched a 26-0 Browns route ;)

It is a one sided floor. Everything is positioned to be upfront for the TV camera. With the large "C" in the middle, it had to be oriented one way or the other. The skyline looks good on TV. Not too loud, but noticeable enough that it stands out. Cavs looked good last night. A little rusty with the new systems on O and D. But the ball movement was crisp and the rebounding was dominant. From what I saw, teams better bring their running shoes to town, because the Cavs are trying to turn every miss into a fast break opportunity, especially when KLove grabs the board. TT looked good at C with this team due to its running midset. Joe Harris also impressed me. He is better than I thought and has a legitimate chance of not being sent to the D-League to start the season.

Lakewood has numerous other populations, as there are some 40+ languages spoken by children in the school system. Five years ago, the fastest growing populations were Latinos, Albanians and Middle Easterners. Now it is Middle Eastern and Nepalese/Bhutanese immigrants due to unrest in their respective homelands. I was speaking more to the diversity factors which differentiate the cities. Both are extremely diverse. Not just racially, either..... but economically and ethnically. Both have seen a large influx of those immigrant groups, particularly the refugees from Nepal/Bhutan. Heights just does not have a significant latino population, and Lakewood certainly has a much smaller population of blacks than CH.

Welcome home, Tommy! The dynamics probably remain largely the same as when you left. The south side of Cleveland Heights is more desirable than the north side, just as the west side of Lakewood is more desirable than the east. That is mostly the result of neighboring communities. Better elementary schools and lesser crime in those parts of the respective cities. Both are still very safe places to live on the scale of walkable, urban areas. Neither is free of crime. Schools are not top-of-the-line, but not bottom of the barrel either. Cleveland Heights is more diverse in terms of having more black people and Jews, and Lakewood is more diverse with its latino population
  13. Weren't they in the top 25 heading into that game? I though they were #20, to be exact

I'm sorry. I wasn't aware we aren't allowed to "bring up Joe Haden." He's still on the Browns, right? I also didn't realize that Haden had covered those three in all of their games. I didn't recognize Joe out there while Steve Smith was 'running circles around those school children' on the Panthers or while Antonio Brown was racking up 130 yards versus the Bucs. I thought you could only play for one team. If you are reading this Joe, the 121 is with you. The 113, not so much. They apparently want Buster Skrine or Justin Gilbert as the #1 CB, covering the opposing team's best player each game. Good luck with that. We know you have not played to your max ability, but we are not going to pile on after such a small sample size. I'm not really looking at any comparison with last year for the reason I have stated numerous times with the rule changes handcuffing DBs. That statistic is also flawed because it is cherry-picked for certain players and not widely available for all CBs in the league. It also does not take into account the placement of the ball. If a CB was targeted 5 times in a game, but all 5 balls were either overthrown or dropped, then the CB would be 5-for-5 in coverage and have a 0% burn rate no matter how 'burnt' he was on any of those plays. If you want to show me footage of Joe actually getting 'burned', go ahead. Getting burned and getting beat by a great pass & catch are two different things completely. Also, flat out getting burned due to just being outplayed and getting burned because the other team illegally picked you in the middle of the route are also very different. So show me where Joe lined up mano-y-mano and was burned by something other than a perfectly thrown ball and catch where he was nevertheless right there to make the play if the ball was the slightest bit underthrown. I'll await the footage.
  16. I could be wrong, but I think they are thinking of the functionality of the building for the purposes of treating cancer patients moreso than the aesthetics of looking at it from the street.

Kristallnacht itself was a coordinated attack. But smaller scale non-coordinated attacks happened a lot. It's how that horror started. Nazis and communists were alike in that they were a mass movement intended to centralize government power. They certainly included their share of simple nihilists, which is what these are. Maybe we should be keeping a closer eye on our hipsters then? We wouldn't want them storming the Capital Building in their uniforms, which I assume would include a slim fit cardigan sweater and skinny chinos.
  19. Hts121 replied to a post in a topic in Urbanbar
^That was a coordinated attack by SA forces and sympathizers specifically against Jewish owned shops which resulted in close to 100 deaths and more than 30,000 placed in concentration camps. Any analogy to the above actions in Oakland really trivializes the horror experienced by the Jews at that time. So no, it is not the "precise tactics"..... far, far from it.

^I'm not sure the new scoreboard is operational yet ^^I don't think so. It is the dark blue we use in our current uni's, with wine letters outlined in gold.

I find that very odd. Hipsters are about as far from Nazis as you can find in the human species. You'd be hard pressed to find a group less ethnocentric and nationalistic. I could buy a communist analogy, but not fascist...... the complete opposite end of the political spectrum.

Not to reignite the Haden debate, but has anyone else noticed how that "crafty" 36 year old Steve Smith is on pace for over 1,700 receiving yards this year? Same for Antonio Brown. And Jimmy Graham is on pace for nearly 1,400 yard, topping his previous high. Those are three of the top 7 receivers this year in terms of yardage. This upcoming stretch of games has got to be a mild relief for a defensive backfield which had to face some extremely tough matchups while adjusting to new rules designed to allow for a more prolific passing attack.

I think he has officially decided on "The Brow"...... so we don't have to debate whether it is a uni-brow or a mono-brow, or if there is a difference. ;)

I've always loved Marion. I recall the 2004 Olympics, in which we won the Bronze because Larry Brown insisted on playing vets like Richard Jefferson and Stephen Marbury over James/Melo/Wade/etc., Marion and LeBron played exceedingly well together. They (along with Wade) really pushed the pace and always had a better plus/minus than the rest of the team. I remember thinking that LeBron would be lucky to play with either of those guys. Turns out he will play with both before his career is out. Marion, for sure, is not the same player he was, but he is another high b-ball IQ guy who is highly respected by his teammates and opponents. He's tough, but not a bully. You won't find many people, if any at all, who have bad stuff to say about the guy.
