By all means, I don't know that you will find "company X moving Y jobs into Cleveland of similar scale as Key or UH." You are more likely to find companies A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, Q, R, S, T, U, V, W, and Z either growing or moving into the core, offsetting the loses excepted from those two. Again, the forest, not the trees. I'm not going to dig through all of the threads to locate all of those examples, but we have seen them.

My comment was more for the employees leaving Cleveland, not necessarily an indictment of the health and stability of UH or the region as a whole. So was mine.

^Are you talking population or GDP? I think Charlotte is closer to $140 mill in GDP, while Raleigh is about half that. And it looks like Durham and Raleigh are not in the same metro. It might look different if done by CSA. Does anyone have the CSA-GDP numbers since Cleveland and Akron were combined? I believe it would be somewhere north of 170

^^^Charlotte has a significant lead over Raleigh-Durham. I assume the third 'metro' you meant would be the Triad, but isn't Greensboro/High Point considered a separate metro from Winston Salem? Edit: Indeed, that is what you meant and indeed it was recently divided into two metros.

Not a good cover corner? Is that a joke? If Haden is not an elite coverage corner, I don't know who is. If you play in front of him, Brees will just loft the ball up and Graham can go up and get it like no one else..... perhaps ever. Due to the fact that the DBs are no longer allowed to touch the WRs/TEs, the best way to keep an eye on the person your covering and the QBs eyes is to keep the receiver between you and the QB. You also shouldn't underestimate how difficult it is to get position on Graham. The dude is huge and really strong. He is an absolute beast...... perhaps the most dangerous weapon in the league right now. And what were the three other non Graham related plays where Haden "got smoked"? We might have a very different definition of that term. I recall one play to Meachum which was a quick hit across the middle. I wouldn't call that getting "smoked". That is just a All-Pro QB making a quick read and delivering a pass on the money. No other WR had more than 30 yards in the game (Meachum had 37). We must have a different definition.

I think you are going to find yourself in a lonely spot on that Haden analysis. He has had several clutch plays and done enough to propel himself into a consensus top tier CB in this league. CB is perhaps the most difficult position in all of sports, IMO. Not only are you expected to stay step for step with some of the best athletes in the world, you are supposed to do so when they know exactly where they are going, exactly when they are going to cut, and you are no longer allowed to keep one hand on them while your eyes are on the QB. Haden is asked to guard the best WR on the opposing team. You are nuts if you think he is not going to give up some big plays from time to time. When you are in his position, games could be "won or lost" with one single misstep.

Well, in fairness, if you're winning at the buzzer, you don't need to hit a buzzer-beater. The critical stat would be how many buzzer-beaters they'd both missed, and out of how many attempts. LeBron missed at the buzzer several times before finally nailing one. He had plenty of 'go-ahead' buckets in the final seconds, but none were buzzer beaters until I believe a Charlotte game towards the end of the 2009 season. Then, he hit a huge one in the playoff series which we lost to the Magic. In the 6 or so years before that, he missed I would guess no less than 6 or 7 buzzer beating shots. Kyrie, on the other hand, had more than one his first season.

^But he had also been on a team that finished with the Bronze at the Olympics and in 6th place at the FIBA World Cup. I have always thought that Kyrie had a better clutch game than LeBron. He came into the league as a monster in the 4th quarter and had quite a few winning baskets his rookie year. LeBron did not hit a buzzer beater until his 6th year in the league.

^^However many inches and pounds Brown needed to push off (without a flag being thrown). I won't expect such a Negative Ned like you to notice stuff like that. Cheer up..... we won! NOBODY covers Jimmy Graham 1-on-1. Nobody. That is why he is such a weapon. Way too fast for LBs. Way too big for CBs. Haden was right there with him on his catches, just like he was right there with Brown on his catches. With the new rules in the league, basically hand-cuffing DBs in coverage, perfect throws are going to beat good coverage every time. There is absolutely no shame in giving up a TD to the combo of Brees and Graham. None at all. For those who want to criticize Joe for Graham doing what Graham does each week, stop being such a wet blanket on Victory Monday. We win our home opener for the first time in nearly a decade and you still can't find a way out of your misery. First Lebron is not coming home and now this. Could you do us a favor and predict that we don't make the playoffs?

It's all just lazy parenting IMO. I can't imagine ever needing to strike either of my kids with any object. I wouldn't go so far as to criminalize spanking, if that is what the parent chooses, but blunt or whip like objects should be. Some say it is a cultural thing, but I don't care for that excuse. I don't even know what 'culture' is being referenced. But, if there is indeed a 'culture' which has a preference for switches, I would ask how that strategy is working out for that culture. My guess is not so well.

^And Rookie of the Year winner..... and 'Rising Stars' Challenge MVP...... and All-Star game MVP. The kid plays 'lights out' when the bright lights are on! The best part of Kyrie's performance at the World Cup is that he didn't force anything. His shooting percentages were through the roof. Plus, Serbia's PG, who Kyrie used and abused all game, is generally considered one of, if not the best Euro players at that position.

Whoooaaaa. In my opinion you cannot make a comparison. Why not (in your opinion)? This is why I initially said it was an interesting issue. A lot of people think you can't make a comparison between the gay rights movement and the civil rights movement. They would say Loving v. Virginia is not precedent, yet perhaps the most famous conservative federal circuit judge just destroyed the Attorney Generals from Indiana and Wisconsin for denying the comparability. How about the "F" word used as a derogatory term for gays? That used to be part of my regular vocabulary not even 15 years ago. Things change. We evolve constantly as a society.

Raping and/or beating your wife unconscious used to be a thing too. I don't know if it was a cultural thing, but there used to be significant societal disagreement on the legal ramifications of such acts.

Oh boy...... Adrian Peterson indicted on child abuse charges. Apparently, he told the police he gave his son a "whoopin'" with a "switch" which resulted in injuries that the doctors thought was indicative of child abuse. This might make the Ray Rice incident look simple from a societal standpoint. After all, for those who say that you "never, ever hit a woman", what will their policy be on a man hitting a 5 year old in a manner that results in broken skin and bruising? This wasn't a simple slap on the butt or back of the head. He admittedly tore into this kid. The incident happened in Texas, which I assume has some very lax child abuse laws (comparatively, at least), so if it qualified for an indictment down there, I don't expect the picture painted to be very easy to stomach. Lest you forget, the sad irony of all this is that one of Peterson's sons was killed by another man during an incident of child abuse.
