^Doubt it. Texans already have $10mill+ in dead money on their salary cap for Schaub and would have to absorb another $10mill+ for Johnson.

Drew has been a head coach, whereas Lue's experience is as an AC. Lue will be the lead assistant, but adding a former HC who has a decent reputation adds some credibility

Cleveland Browns Discussion
How about some Monday morning quarterbacking? Running game looked good enough for its first outing in a zone blocking scheme. Tate seemed to be able to get decent yards. West is smaller, but quicker than I expected. Hoyer looked 'serviceable.' Johnny flashed those quick feet he is famous for and some nice zip on the ball. They didn't try to do anything too fancy with the passing game, so it was hard to judge. Protection seemed to hold up OK. Whitner comes as advertised. I will be shocked if he plays the whole season without at least one fine. WRs will know he's back there. Haden is going to have to adjust to the new rules. He has always been a bit more of a 'hand-on' defender in coverage. Robertson looks like he wants to secure that other ILB job. Armonty Bryant continued to show real potential as a pass rusher. He'll be in on passing downs. I'm not sure yet about the switch of Rubin and Taylor. I liked how they were placed last year. I hear it mostly has to do with Rubin's ability at NT, not that Phil fits better at End.

Cleveland: Marketing the City
Hmmmm..... I like it "If you haven't been to Cleveland in the last five years, you haven't been to Cleveland," Enid Mickelsen, who led the Republican National Committee's site-selection team, told a conference of party activists. http://www.cleveland.com/open/index.ssf/2014/08/republicans_salute_cleveland_a.html#incart_m-rpt-1

Cleveland Cavs Discussion
If all your interested in is LeBron's address to the crowd, that segment begins around 53:00... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29g9JgP4m4Y Prior to this event, there was a media Q&A. He confirmed the reasons why he signed the shorter contract and reinforced hiss commitment to essentially end his career as a Cav. He also talked about Kevin Love almost as if he was already a Cav, but choosing his words carefully. The one quote about Love which I couldn't agree with more - "I don't care about the 26(ppg) and 12(rpg), I care about the basketball IQ." One comment about his noticeable changes in mannerism (if that is the right word)..... he has been spending a lot of time with his kids. It does that to you. Softens you up a bit.

2014 Gubernatorial Election
I was on the fence in this race and will probably vote for Kasich now. I've had some dealings of my own with Fitzgerald and, while I won't deny that he is an ambitious leader, my dealings with him did not reflect the guy he tries to portray himself in front of the camera. He's certainly not as liberal as he would like many to believe. Kasich certainly does stuff that irritates me and I disagree with him on policy a lot. But I appreciate that he is not some batsh!t crazy cowboy. He can articulate his side of the argument very well and has shown a willingness to stand up to the batsh!t crazy politicians on his side of the aisle. He almost has a calming effect on them, in a way. Fitz would probably have the opposite effect and what has happened at the US Capital would likely show up here in Ohio before long. I don't think that Kasich will go wild his second term. If he does have national aspirations, he is going to want to paint himself as a moderate.... which plays well to his strengths. To do so, he will have to continue to stay closer to the aisle. It was the Republican Governors' Association which issued the public records request, most likely at the secret urging of Westlake's mayor.

I don't mind Hammer either. But I am rarely driving home before 5, so I wasn't referring to him. It's Hooley who hurts my ears and makes me depressed.

A major reshuffling on the horizon for WKNR. Jerrod Cherry will be joining Rizzo on RBS in the mornings. Goldhammer will join up with Emmit Golden for a new show from 3pm-5pm. Hooley will be all alone from 5-7 and then Munch will go from 7-9. Looks like I will be spending my drive (home) time listening to 92.3 for the foreseeable future.

Another Dumb-a$$ List / Ranking of Cities
^it was #11 on trip advisor iirc. Taking a quick look around, this ranking for the Toledo zoo seems a bit out of the norm. And Columbus is actually ranked highest on more than one list, above the much more well-known (i would think) San Diego zoo. I guess I am not that 'well-traveled' when it comes to zoos, with Cleveland's probably being the best by far I can remember visiting, which isn't saying much since I have been to so few. I should definitely make a point to take the kids down to C-Bus to see it

I'm with you, Coach K “There’s absolutely not one second of hesitancy. I’d trade for Kevin Love,” Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski told John Feinstein on CBS Sports Radio last month. Krzyzewski is also the coach of USA Basketball. “There aren’t many double-double guys who can spread the floor; he can go inside and outside. There may be a low post player that gets you a double-double, but Love, you can do a lot of different things with him … “You look at LeBron, and you have the best player in the world. He’s 29, I’m not saying he’s at the end of his career, but he’s in the second-half of his career. And in the first half of his career he was becoming a great player. It took time. Just like with Andrew Wiggins, it takes time. LeBron is a great player right now, you do not want to waste any year of a great player’s career. Love is close to being that. He’s not as great a player as LeBron, but he’s there.” http://www.ohio.com/sports/cavs/report-cavs-timberwolves-finalize-trade-for-kevin-love-complete-monumental-offseason-1.511464#.U-PFom6rR84.twitter

Cleveland: Downtown: nuCLEus
^If you recall, one of Stark's contemplations for Pescht(?) was a pedestrian only Rockwell Ave with a similar feel to E4th. I can't imagine he is going to pass up the opportunity to extend the E4th feel directly across Prospect.

Cleveland: Downtown: Tower City / Riverview Development
I don't know that it ever was in the public lexicon. Most people I know refer to the mall simply as "Tower City" and have no idea that "Tower City" actually refers to the entire complex. I was in that boat in my pre-UO days. I'd never heard of 'the Avenue'. If I said I was going to "Tower City", it meant I was going to the mall. Honestly, it still does.

^In terms of proven talent, the Knicks arguably gave up more. They gave up a 1st rounder, so that is a wash, plus three more draft picks. They sent Gallinari, Chandler, and Mozgov to Denver and Randolph, Curry, and cash to Minnesota. So they gave up a mixture of starters, regular rotation players, draft picks, and cash. It was a lot. I'd take any of the three guys they sent to Denver in a heartbeat. Wiggins + Bennett's contract, I believe, come within the 150% rule with Love's numbers prior to him signing an extension. If not, the Cavs can throw in 2 of the 3 Utah players with non-guaranteed contracts. 1 of those guys, for some obscure reason, can't be traded for 60 days from when we acquire him, so he is not likely to be included, which is fine because he was the one who could play Center in a pinch and/or will allow us to waive him when the time comes

Woj is about as reliable as it gets when it comes to "sources" Sources: Cleveland has agreement to acquire Kevin Love, including contract commitment The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached an agreement in principle to send All-Star forward Kevin Love to the Cleveland Cavaliers for Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett and a protected 2015 first-round draft pick, league sources told Yahoo Sports. Cleveland is making the deal with Minnesota with a firm agreement Love will opt out of his contract in 2015 and re-sign with the Cavaliers on a five-year, $120 million-plus contract extension, league sources told Yahoo Sports. https://sports.yahoo.com/news/sources--cavaliers-have-agreement-to-acquire-kevin-love--who-commits-to-staying-in-cleveland-054657392.html

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
I've been meaning to ask this for years. In Charlotte's Dilworth neighborhood, there is a set of streets with names very familiar to the Cleveland area - e.g. Euclid, Lyndhurst, and Tremont for sure (maybe more) - all within close proximity. Dilworth is a very old neighborhood, so I wonder whether the street names were influenced by someone with Cleveland ties or vice-versa. Anyone?

^^A terrible uniform from a terrible era of Cavs basketball. When I see those, all I can think about are the Lamond Murray and Wesley Person led teams. The very definition of mediocrity those teams were. Is it just me or does Kyrie's right arm look freakishly short in that pic? ^I'll have to get more creative then ;)
