Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
A woman never has enough jewels! NEVER!! You bought her a new phone? You're such romantic! LMAO I bet she'd rather have a trip to an island that includes spa days than a phone! I would love a getaway. She's not down, as our youngest has yet to spend a night away from Mommy. Next year, perhaps.

Cleveland: Public Square Redesign
You won't find any disagreement with the notion that people should not be causing disturbances in public places. But the concept of 'loitering' on a public square is just a bad way to describe it IMHO. I wasn't directly implying racism, although like you said, there is a 'reality' which can't be ignored, when we are talking about the bus stops and the complaints associated with them. I was simply mentioning that loitering is kind of what the square is for. If I want to just sit there on one of the quadrants for no apparent purpose, well..... there's nothing wrong with that. That's my right and it is held by every resident, no matter how scary they look to some people. Again, actively causing a disturbance (not just behaving in a way that might be perceived as a disturbance by some) is another story.

She already got her gift! A nice, shiny new HTC One and a fab-u-lus bouquet. She has enough jewelry...... even she would admit to that. As for the restaurant, I've been contemplating for a month or so, but it snuck up on me.

Reports are the Ray Rice has received a two game suspension for knocking out his wife/fiancé/whatever. Josh Gordon is going to get an indefinite suspension for pot. Unbelievable.

Cleveland: Downtown: The Avenue District
Weston is not whatever the equivalent term for "domain squatter" is in real estate. They are just very much in the business of maximizing opportunity/profit and won't move solely on speculation. That is how it was explained to me by someone high up on the food chain with them.

"Loiter around the square"? What are we supposed to do on a public square?

Cleveland: Random Quick Questions
10 year anniversary with the wife today. What do people think of Washington Place Inn for a place to eat dinner on such an occasion? I've never been there before. What is the 'dress'? Does the quality of food match the price point? Thanks in advance for any help. Also considering L'Albatross. I haven't been there since it was 'That Place'. The downside is we would make a night of it in LI with apps maybe at a place like LDV and then finishing off the night at Presti's. More than a few people have insisted I take her to Pier W, but I'd prefer to stay closer to home.

Cleveland certainly has its fair share of landmark decisions, especially for criminal procedure. Another big one is Mapp v. Ohio - http://www.casebriefs.com/blog/law/criminal-procedure/criminal-procedure-keyed-to-saltzburg/searches-and-seizures-of-persons-and-things/mapp-v-ohio-3/ - which involved Cleveland police officers, but I believe the search was conducted in a suburb, maybe East Cleveland (?)

It might be a bluff. There is no way that Chicago would want to see Love in Cleveland. But if Minnesota has told them it is inevitable, it would be in their best interest to try and float this rumor to make the Cavs give up as many assets as Minnesota demands. I am not even sure how Chicago would split the minutes between Kevin love, Pau Gasol, and Joakim Noah. On the other hand, no team has ever complained about having too many quality Biggs.

^The one KJP referenced? If so, just that Philly has interest in Dion and could get involved as a third team in the Kevin Love trade talks. The CBA rules require teams to meet certain minimum salary requirements. I believe it is something like 90% of the cap. Philly is so far under the cap, that it actually needs contracts and would be able to absorb some of the bad contracts Minny wants to unload, such as Kevin Martin and JJ Barea. Philly can take in more money than it sends out in a trade because it is something like $35mill under the cap. The thought is that Dion would have to be included to entice Philly and it is no secret Dion loves his hometown and would also probably like playing for a team where he was more of a focus of the offense. I am not so sure that Philly would/should want him. 'Going home' might not be the best scenario for Dion at this point in his career. That said, him and MCW would compliment each other nicely in the backcourt. ^^Do you mean the old "Run and Gun" Nuggets

Well, if I was you I would consider rethinking who I associate with. So "the community" = "the hood"..... and "the rest of us" is everyone outside "the hood"? You expect 'the hood' to fix itself from within? Good luck with that. You are going to have a hard time convincing criminals not to honor the pastime of 'Omerta'...... or whatever you might want to call it in an attempt to imply it only exists in "the hood." That 'code' is as old as the law and it exists in all forms of society, especially the poor areas. Do a little research on the Ozark Mafia or the Dixie Mafia. You have places in this country where families have feuded for a hundred years without much intervention from the law.

^true to some extent, including the number of would be felony convictions that get reduced to expungable misdemeanors for kids and young adults whose parents have the money to fight the charges I am not sure what type of people you associate with, but I know of not one single person who would harbor or protect the type of behavior which results in the murder of a 4 yr old girl. Not one. And I associate with people from all different kinds of backgrounds I also am not sure who you mean by "the community" and "the rest of us"

What are you watching?
The Leftovers has me hooked. I am only concerned that it is going to be one of those shows in which the suspense of what happened is going to be great, but not the ultimate answer of what happened.

Cleveland: Suburban Crime & Safety Discussion
Whatever 'ism' you want to talk about, the sad part is how much attention a tragedy like the one at Brennan's gets while I am not sure we even so much as mentioned the 4 year girl who was shot while on the playground in the City of Cleveland right around the same time. The longer we ignore THAT problem, the more the surrounding communities will suffer in addition to the City itself. No matter how much you might be predisposed to hate CH/SH for its liberalism, diversity, or whatever, that type of tragedy does not happen there and the majority of the truly egregious crime which does occur is committed by people who come from the inner city where such tragedies DO happen without much notice.

Ironically, the concept of stop and frisk originated from a US Supreme Court case out of Cleveland. The officer in that case did only had what the court termed 'reasonable suspicion', not 'probable cause', when he noticed two me casing a jewelry shop in downtown on Euclid Ave. The cop conducted a stop and frisk and discovered a gun. The Court upheld the warrant less search as legal. I believe the case was Terry v. Ohio

Assuming he stays, Dion is a starter I'd think. Wiggins wouldn't start at the two. Griff said if Wiggins 'finds greatness' it would be at the two, but also said he is not ready offensively to play that position. His handles have a LONG way to go, as I've been saying since before the draft. I see a lineup in which Blatt uses his rotations to make sure either LBJ, Dion, or Kyrie is on the floor at all times initiating the offense Kyrie Dion LeBron KLove Andy

Sounds like he fell (perhaps trying to climb) down a chute which dropped five stories into that dumpster. If true, there will be lot's of egg on the face of people who were speculating otherwise simply because the last place this guy was seen was in downtown Cleveland.

I would be ecstatic if we got both Love and Dieng. The latter is just a bonus, but he has the potential to fill a huge hole on this team IMO..... Which is why I tossed his name out there last week. Not sure what "the Real Bob Evans" is talking about. We don't have the cap space to re-sign Andy even if Minny agreed to cut him. He won't be part of any deal
