Thanks for the shots!! I am definitively impressed by the amount of vibrancy in downtown... Its certainly looks like a nice place to visit
  2. The Cincinnati Carnegies are very decorative!! I like'm
  3. Very nice and intact.... Is there perhabs a Carnegie in this town ;)
  4. Wow!! That's all that needs to be said...
  5. Wow that's awful!! As if it was difficult enough to redevelop Cleveland neighborhoods...
  6. There are plenty of them in Cleveland!! If you are ever in Cleveland I suggest taking Lorain from downtown all the way west to Kamm's Corner. You will find many there. I hope to one day do a photo tread on the streett but it would take a long time..
  7. No, Kathleen's closed about 3-4 years ago. Its been through a few reincarnations since then and within the last month Big Daddy's Cheesesteaks opened in that space. I tried it yesterday for the first time and it was pretty good. Where on Lorain is this?
  8. That's the older building west of the 55 building. My dad has a friend who owns a law office on the building's 7th floor and he was kind enough to allow me to take shots from his office. I was actually originally introduced to him at the Cleveland Orchestra Concert July 4th concert. I was so upset that I didn't bring my camera that night!!
  9. This is a very loaded question ;).... Originally Kamm's Corner was meant to signify just the intersection of Rockey River and Lorain. But the name now encompasses neighborhoods surrounding this intersection. I have even seen a sign for Kamm's corner at Triskett and West 147th (which is definitively not Kamm's Corner)... I believe the city is using the Kamm's Corner name as a way to market West Park since is such a highly repected name.
  10. Kamm's Corner So I decided that a photo thread on Kamm's corner was way overdue considering it is one of Cleveland best neighborhoods (in terms of being stabilized and income) and just received a face lift at Lorain and Rocky River drive. Here's a couple of scenic shots in the Rocky Rive Metroparks.... I hope this isn't the next Interbelt bridge :| This is the Hillard Bridge: Now for the neighborhood.... This is why they say that Kamm's Corner is Cleveland's most suburban neighborhood Here's my favorite residential street in West Park: Greenwood. This is probably Cleveland's best collection of tutor homes. Apparently I have still have numerous distant relatives who live on this street... Check out these ranch homes!! I actually like them... Deer!!! St. Joseph's High School in the background: Our Lady of Angles (childhome parish of my father) Kamm's Corner's commercial district... New Street lights!! This is suppossedly going to be renovated soon... This the design found in the sidewalk... Its not bad but certainly not as flashy as the sidewalk design at Gorden Square.. The CDC at Kamm's Corner is undergoing a campaign to renovate storefronts on this part of Lorain

    Awesome!!

  13. Nice!! The housing looks very interesting...
  14. Interesting angle of Key Tower
  15. Mayday could go forever posting Cleveland skyline shots!!
  16. This very exciting especially that they are restoring the original art deco interior..
  17. The great thing is, is that this dept. store building is still here in addition to these others on Euclid: The May Co Taylor's , which will soon open up as residential/retail--- The 668 Bldg Halle's Bonwit-Teller (home to United Way Services now) Only the Sterling-Lindner complex of bldgs are gone (and Bond Dept store too, but it wasn't as historical as these other 6) Is Bonwit Teller on Euclid between east 9th abd Playhouse square?
  18. What a great building. It would be very sad to lose it. Do you know what the previous owner planned to do with the building?

  24. Great Shots CoolDay! That's again for sharing... I'd have to say that after looking at the street grid in Downtown Atlanta that it is utterly confusing and lacks cohesion. There also seems to be lots of confusion in the city were residential neighborhoods begin and were downtown ends. But I have to say some of the modern skyscrapers are pretty awesome!! Now following inline with my Dallas question. Are there a whole lot of urban neighborhoods in Atlanta? From what I saw outside of the core there were a couple of woodframe neighborhoods (I visited the MLK center or Spring Break last year)
