Dayton: UD and Oregon
Very nice! Always good to see Dayton photos

Salt Lake City, UT + Ogden, UT
Not bad at all. These Western cities have really done a great job at getting rail. I presume that was a street car line in downtown Salt Lake City. Where the residential areas interesting at all in Salt Lake?

Montréal Series- Part II
Yea you can get cheaper rent in some of Cleveland's nicer neighborhoods. Definitively in Ohio City, Shaker Square, Lakewood, Clifton, and probably even Tremont. You have to remember that most of Cleveland's nicer areas are still not 100% gentrified. Downtown Cleveland is a bit a anomaly with ridiculously high rents. Pittsburgh seems to have pretty high rent prices in places like Shaddyside and Squirrel Hill but it seems you can still get a pretty good deal in Lawaranceville, Bloomfield and Friendship. Not sure if I buy the argument that Montreal's crappy neighborhoods are much better than Ohio best. Can you really say that a crappy Montreal neighborhood is better than Ohio City, Short North, German Village, Hyde Park, The Oregon District, Mount Adams, etc. Even Montreal's nice neighborhoods have problems. For instance Le Plateau has some serious drug problems. I saw a guy shooting up in broad day light in one of their pocket parks and some locals were mentioning the neighborhood is not always safe. But yes you are probably right that for the price it is hard to match Montreal.

Montréal Series- Part IV (Latin Quartier)
Latin Quartier This is probably Montréal's second most popular neighborhood behind Vieux Montréal. It is basically the intersection of Centre Ville, Le Plateau, and Vieux Montréal. Yea $900 for a single bedroom is not bed, although definitively more expensive than a Cincinnati, Cleveland, or Pittsburgh on average in their attractive areas.

True. Its so impressive how many urban amenities a city of its size has. Most cities the size of Cleveland could only dream of having a pedestrian mall on Burlington's scale

Do you know what the rent goes for? And yea if I spent a summer in Montreal I would certainly learn French!

McGill This is the English speaking university in Montreal. You mean why it is not more in the international spotlight? Yea I wonder too. Such a nice urban environment and so within reach for my Americans on the East Coast.

Montréal Series- Part II
Le Plateau Here are lots of photos taken from Montreal's Le Plateau. This neighborhood was developed in the late 19th century and contains thousands of examples of Montréal's distinctive rowhouse chateaus. This in my opinion was the most extensive gentrified neighborhood in the area. Here is the link for the entire Flickr set: http://www.flickr.com/photos/54815043@N06/sets/72157631875357608/ Le Plateau (173) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Le Plateau (172) by rockafeller06, on Flickr This was a really nice square called Saint-Louis Square. Interesting location for residential. It does feel disconnected from OC and Tremont in that industrial valley. But it certainly is not too far walking distance.

Montreal Series- (Part 1)
Recently I have made a number of trips to Montreal and it has really helped me to appreciate the city. I went there this past July most recently. The city has an interesting feel. It is a cross between an east coast American city and a European city. It feels distinctly American with its modern skyline and rowhouses. But it has a very European feels in the French Chateau architecture mixed into the row-houses and Vieux Montréal (old Montreal) which was constructed mostly in the 1700s. Here is downtown- aka Centre Ville Montreal- Centre Ville (53) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (52) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (34) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (33) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (32) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (31) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (30) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (29) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (28) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (26) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (25) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (24) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (22) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (9) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (6) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (4) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal- Centre Ville (5) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Downtown Movie Theater! Montreal- Centre Ville (2) by rockafeller06, on Flickr Montreal does a wonderful job at catering to bikes. Two lane bike paths as like the ones below are all over the city. They find ways all kinds of ways to find room for them including taking away street right of way or placing them on wider sidewalks. Most of the path also have signalized lights which all the bikers seem to follow. Certainly a change from bikers in America. Wow! Seattle is such an impressive City. Some much development occurring and vibrant urban neighborhoods. I also hear it is one of the hilliest cities too. I wonder which of the three cities is the hilliest. Pittsburgh, Seattle or San Francisco?
