I was watching Youtube videos on conspiracy theories concerning the eclipse that they claimed were backed up by science so I'm pretty sure it wasn't 'ludicrous,' sir. You're fake news. Seriously though, that super-volcano is due to erupt and when it does, most of the U.S. is absolutely f-ed. Ohio is probably a Doomsday Prepper's wet dream. We manage to stay out of the way of almost every major threat, minus tornados, which really aren't that big of a threat. I have heard multiple times that earthquakes occur shortly before or after a total eclipse. Yellowstone has recently been experiencing a hell of a lot of earthquake activity lately anyway and earthquakes do trigger volcanic eruption. One just occurred, right before the eclipse: http://www.express.co.uk/news/science/844037/eclipse-solar-eclipse-earthquake-Yellowstone-volcano There have been thousands, recently. When the super-volcano in Yellowstone erupts, it is projected that it will be 1000x more powerful than Mt. St. Helens. We're talking 10 inches of volcanic ash and nuclear winter for MOST of the United States. That is in addition to lava instantly destroying everything in the western-mid United States. Not only will tens of millons of people die but crops will as well. It will effect the entire world. It may happen tomorrow or thousands of years from now but one thing is certain; it will happen and there will be devastation like we've never seen. Yes, the gravitational pull of the sun and moon line up and it is believed that larger quakes happen at this time; however, this alignment happens every 28 days during a new moon. And also when opposite as during the full moon.
  2. http://contracts.dot.state.oh.us/common/searchAPI.do?PROJECT%5FNUM=170361&cabinetId=1002 The replacement bridge is the Seymour Ave. overpass (SR561); with this project there is some work to the Paddock overpass (SR4). In ODOT parlance, work on separate routes in separate locations gets the 'slash' in the Project name; with the lower route listed 1st; hence HAM-4/561
  3. Apparently, and this surprised me, Columbia Parkway has no more collisions than average for the city. Maybe it's so rough and tumble that it forces people to pay attention and drive more carefully. It's sort of the same argument that everyone would drive safer if instead of an airbag in their steering wheel, there was a huge metal spike aimed straight at their chest. trucks are banned from Columbia Parkway, so that helps keep the accident rate down
  4. An I-75 that will be about 100 foot closer to the rear of the house in a few years (on a wall). I wonder if the Agent is disclosing that information to the prospective buyers?

Interesting "doughnut hole" (Lighter shade of blue) of 50% for the Braves in Metro Atlanta/Fulton County, goes up to 60% outside of Metro Atlanta

  8. I believe it was the area that is now the Coke Bottling Plant, the 5/3 Operations center, etc. Between Duck Creek and I-71. Edit --- I think it was in the area will Gorilla Glue is now --- I have heard it called Corisca Hollow http://historicaerials.com?layer=1970&zoom=17&lat=39.154856995080294&lon=-84.40404295921326
  9. Yeah it hasn't really taken shape yet because they are still modifying the south side of the old MLK overpass. Man I can already tell that stretch of MLK is going to be a nightmare. Starting from the East with a big traffic stop for Ramp A and Ramp B. Then another traffic stop at Stanton Avenue exit (probably will stay mostly green there as traffic can't be that bad going onto Stanton?), then a really massive traffic stop on Ramp D and Ramp C. I wonder if the lights are so close together people are going to be stuck inbetween stop lights. They better have some moving guards in those intersections most times otherwise the mess will be even worse. BTW: Stanton will pass under the MLK overpass and will not have an intersection with MLK
  10. I can't remember exactly what the article said but I seem to recall it asserting that when Seagram's was bought out circa 2004 that's when the new owners of the plant started focusing on the craft bourbon market, which at the time was very, very small. The whole nationwide phenomenon as we know it now wouldn't be possible without that ownership change and what has happened in Lawrenceburg since. http://www.thedailybeast.com/articles/2014/07/28/your-craft-whiskey-is-probably-from-a-factory-distillery-in-indiana.html

  12. Alternative 2 is what is under development to final design.
  13. It will be a design build with a least cost bid selected from a shortlisted set of teams. More project info can be found in this PDF: http://www.dot.state.oh.us/Divisions/ConstructionMgt/design-build/Docs/20160614_NoticeToIndustryI-480.pdf (Includes a link to preliminary studies)
  14. A big stink was raised up north when these smaller cell towers started to be constructed in subdivisions in utility easements (e.g. front yards) with otherwise no other overhead utilities. http://www.cincinnati.com/story/news/local/liberty-township/2015/12/10/four-permits-install-cell-poles-liberty-twp-revoked/77119566/ http://www.journal-news.com/news/news/local-govt-politics/liberty-twp-passes-new-cell-tower-rules/nrLWy/
  15. They may have refused to address improvements to the Lateral i/c in reference to how it tie into Ridge SB and from Ridge NB as it related to the center of Cinti Development (or whatever its called). ODOT really does not want to address any capacity issues on surface streets, only Mainline Probably a little of each. it does queue prior to the bulk of the rush hour, and there is probably a safety issue with lane switches and sideswipe accidents.
  16. From what I understand --- the Victory Parkway i/c was ash-canned because it would have removed a ton of trees, so it got push back from the Cinti Park Board You are correct. The right lane will no longer drop at the Ridge Road NB off-ramp and will now be extended to drop at the Red Bank Road Exit. In addition they are relocating the Ridge Road NB off-ramp to intersect Kennedy Ave adjacent a slightly relocated On-ramp to NB I-71 from Kennedy.
  17. What the heck? https://goo.gl/maps/fcgUwruuQdC2
  18. ODOT must pay for relocation of any publicly-owned facilities, typically these are limited to water and sanitary sewers -- but in the case of Hamilton and Columbus, for example, publicly owned power as well.
  19. Actually, for road projects "it depends", sometimes the utility can be reimbursed for moving their facilities for road projects, and other times they need to foot the bill themselves. It all rests on how (and when) the utility resides in the road right of way. If they are there in the R/W after the road is built, or by permit then they are under the expectation that they will need to move for any road improvement or maintenance activities at their own cost. If they have to move out of the way for a new road relocation and/or from brand new R/W then ODOT pays for the relocation. Or the utility predates the road dedication or improvement from way back in the day, then ODOT pays for relocations also (even if the utility line has been upgraded and expanded roughly in the same location). I am sure there are more complexities to this issue I am glossing over, for road projects.
  20. Main Street in that time period was an island in itself (really only night spots -- a few dining options). Now OTR certainly has reached a critical mass of residents, businesses and other types of night life. So the same fate should not happen 'district wide'
  21. That would be a heckuva grade down from the top deck to the intersection (Add about 20' + in elevation vs. the existing on-ramp). I probably can't find it published in design standards anywhere, but the FHWA probably would have an issue with the 2 ramps, right and left diverging at the same point. Left exit ramps are frowned upon too What are they saving in time vs. the existing off ramp from I-75 SB to 5th Street?

Yeah, OK, JRTS are just one tool for Estate planning. There are many others and people need help navigating them all... BTW the original response was to jmecklenborg[/member] 's surprise about the Walton's a small army of accountants working above a bicycle shop in Bentonville, AK tasked primarily with avoiding taxes. ---surprised that they can even fit above a bicycle shop

The point of EVERY company's accounting and bookkeeping practices is to avoid or minimize the company's tax burden The Walton heirs are not a company, they are people who never had to work who continue to earn tens of millions each year in dividend income off of minimum-wage workers. Ok, the point of all ESTATE planning is to avoid or minimize the individual's tax burden
