Do you ever get any customers like me who just say small, medium and large? This is America, speak English  I orderded a 'small' at a SBX in the bookstore and got what is really a small
3. I-71 was too far East to be blamed for the clearance of the Broadway Commons site. It might have been selective/random clearance of old buildings. Was still going on in the late 60's
Aerial photography from the past to the present! probably an embellishment. There are much more expensive stretches of interstate construction, esp in mountain areas. FWIW the Mt Adams wall was constructed in the late 70's only after the ramps to/from I-471 were constructed and the hillside started to slip away.

Very interesting. I am a proponent of small, high cost/benefit ratio improvements. (for example, from my exp. highway spot improvements, a small flyover ramp, or an add lane between closely spaced interchanges etc. have more benefit and can be constructed a lot quicker than a whole new corridor -- but I digress) I assumed most of the delays on Amtrak are from when passenger trains yield to freights running on the same tracks, but I guessed nowadays that is all controlled so there are fewer situations like that? From reading the document and other posts on UO about Amtrack, most of the delays are at the stations, caused by poor station layout and dated infrastructure. I'd bet the Cost/benefit ratio on these fix it first improvements are extremely high, have the Cost/benefit ratios been computed? Also, I noticed the Cincy station was not included.

There are areas of older cape cods and small houses surrounding Downtown Blue Ash...think like Deer Park and Dillonvale era housing. Here's my take: If the ball landed in her yard only a few times then yes the family has a beef. Knowing how kids are, they probably did provoke the old lady repeatedly. Everyone probably had someone in their neighborhood that was old and cranky and they all liked to get their goat. I fault the kids parents. In this age of entitlement and "my kids are never wrong" etc. the parents had the gall to call the police. If it were my kids, I would have said "Its your own d**m fault for continuing to kick the ball over the fence, you can go over their and apologize and try to get your ball back!". Of course, these are probably "helicopter parents" in the making

7. Anyone know about this? An interchange for congestion relief and not commercial development! http://bigwalnut71.org/background.aspx
8. How come it doesn't connect directly to Sky Harbor Airport?
9. FSN "CYA" The computer glitch happened at excatly 8:30? It wasn't properly confgured and switched automatically. Someone was asleep at the switch. The Blue Jackets were on FSN and FSN-HD, so that was a different statewide feed altogether, I think. Rando, As far as chiding folks for not going; some of us have <very> young kids, and can't just waltz down to Shoemaker for every home game. I would have liked to seen the end of the game.
10. Number 11 did happen, that's 741 from US42/Bethany Road Area NE of Mason to Kings Mill Road at Kroger then to I-71 http://maps.google.com/maps?ie=UTF8&q=mason+OH&ll=39.363435,-84.275179&spn=0.024022,0.040255&z=15 (It looks like it was pointing to the dotted double line, but it wasn't) edit: Didn't see the post with this info already :-(
11. Of course, while you are at it, take away PAC-10's bid---Outside of USC, PAC10 is worse than many non-BCS conferences Yeah the current BCS shortchanges the non-BCS conferences, but it is what it is. Since the conference alignments define the BCS, the automatic bids don't get under my skin as much. What should be frustrating to Boise State is the selection of tOSU over them, since that was the option given the current rules of the BCS. (Down year for BEast Football -- but who's to say it won't be more highly rated in a few years? -- what's hurting the conf ranking now is parity -- the teams in the conference are more even, there is no overall powerhouse).

I think the stone walls are done the way they are so as to mimic the stone walls ubiquitous to Ireland
14. I little while ago, a show was on History Channel (?) about the moon landing hoax...the main "expert" they interviewed who supports the hoax theory lived in a trailer in the sticks in Arizona or somehwere like that.

Pair of finders ask: Is that a tongue? Is that a tongue? By Eileen Kelley • [email protected] • October 24, 2008 http://news.cincinnati.com/article/20081024/NEWS01/810240419/1055/NEWS RIVERSIDE - The tale of the tongue found on the steps has everyone talking - and a little bit freaked out. Joshua Nuckels, 22, said a buddy was eating pizza late Wednesday on the front steps of an apartment complex on Fithian Street where Nuckels' girlfriend lives. His buddy called him over to check out what was next to him.
21. From the Hamilton County Engineer: http://216.68.49.64/home.do use the advanced search http://216.68.49.64/document/documentSearchCriteria.do?from=topNav Cabinet: Topography_maps The maps are numbered, you can download the 1964 county map from the historical county map cabinet that shows the grid numbers for the topo sheets (on one sheet I looked at I saw old graded R/W for an interurban line -- near "Gano")
22. Its right on the Little Miami (Loveland) Bike Trail
23. I've heard that the lifespan of the deck is 75 years, and could be as long as 100 years. The deck's wearing surface is asphalt and can be surfaced along with the rest of the road every 10-20 years. Compare to normal concrete decked bridges, which would have to be re-decked twice during that 100 year time frame, and most likely jackhammered and repaired (concrete overlaid in addition to the asphalt overlay), more often than that, maybe every 20 years. That much less concrete and steel has to be produced to repair the traditional bridge, and as Rod pointed out, is environmentally damaging. Not to mention the transportation of the heavier concrete and steel to the site vs. the lighter bridge. I'm sure you heard that a vast majority of bridges need replacement and there is no money. the vast majority of bridges are small ones like this; now imagine the vast majority of these small bridges of this 'build it and forget' type. Imagine all that money we do not need to invest in these small bridges on their upkeep.

That building looks new...I wonder if some time passed between the survey and when the City let the bid for construction (sometimes plans can be shelved for a while). whatever happened to using common sense and asking for a redesign?
