  1. I hope they add something that will give more of a breakfast and/or lunch option. I think it'd be great to be down at the banks and get a coffee outside along with a nice breakfast meal.
  2. So is that section of phase II going to be more underground parking? Also, is the current parking lot just west of phase II going to be more underground parking as well?
  3. Sorry if this has already been discussed, but with such a huge thread I don't have the capabilities to search for it, but is there an anticipated ground breaking date for the streetcar?
  4. Holy Grail is great. Good food, decent beer, great atmosphere. A place like this is needed for The Banks. As for CPK, I used to eat it when in California and I hate to say it, but I liked it better than Dewey's. Dewey's is over priced and skimp you on the toppings. They do usually have a good beer list though. I can't remember what CPK usually serves in terms of beer.
  5. I love the Holy Grail and think the Banks would make a great location for it.
  6. Monarch is already doing work downtown at the Banks! I would imagine that would be an easy sell for them! Maybe someone should tell them that this building is UC's not Miami's. http://monarchconstruction.cc/projects/higheduc/images/pages/Miami%20University%20Science%20and%20Engineering%20Building%20View%203_jpg.htm
  7. wow, council's bluff got called big time.
  8. They should celebrate when the Banks and CRP are completed....but that's about it.
  9. Do they really need to celebrate opening a new road? Seems weird.
  10. ^ This. No real incentives other than Knoxville has always been the center of operations.
  11. They aren't moving anyone down there because of this announcement.
  12. Wow, that is a terrible name. Don't these companies have marketing departments?
  13. Wide would a company that makes 2 cents on a dollar care what the appearance of their building looks like? They have much larger priorities than that. And I actually like the location of Kroger. It is the backend of the core DT and holds it all together.
  14. Also notice the freedom center lawn doesn't have any buildings in this rendering.
  15. Don't get me wrong, these guys (in the link provided) don't differ much from the cincinnati.com posters, but did I read a different feasibility study? My interpretation of the feasibility study had pretty good results. http://ncaabbs.com/showthread.php?tid=458589&pid=5827206#pid5827206
  16. If they do build it, I wish they'd build it on the western end of DT or further north. I think they skyline would look funny with two skyscraper right next to each other and so many on the south eastern side of DT.
  17. The tiara still looks terrible from that angle. It doesn't blend in with building at all.
  18. brilliant move. good luck getting quotes and interviews from the mayor and council now. have fun being last in line for breaking Cincinnati news.
  19. ^^ I hope so but looking at the plans it will be tough. Doesn't look like there will be much open area that doesn't have trees, landscapes, fountains, etc. The only area looking big enough is to the west of the suspension bridge and it's hard to tell with the non-uniform shape of the lawn if that would be possible.
  20. ^ thanks. I remember that was the original plan but for some reason I thought I heard they weren't going to do the restaurants and were just going to leave the field alone. I was probably just imagining things.
  21. I thought I read where they were going to keep the existing lawnspace at the Freedom Center alone, correct? I sure hope so because this provides a pretty good level, rectangular greenspace for activities. I really hope the CRP has something like this but I haven't seen it in the plans. Some greenspace is needed for people to kick the soccer ball around, throw the football, play ultimate frisbee, etc.
  22. I'm not familiar enough with it enough. Would it be pretty loud? If not I don't see too many people having issues with it. I would think this has been done in other cities? LK: I have no idea what the plan is, I was just responding to some other posts that would like to see some sculptures, fountains, etc on the caps. To me that seems like it'd be a huge waste.
  23. Why spend millions of dollars to build a sculpture? Seems like a waste to me. If you are going to cap it, put something there that the people of downtown and cincy can use.
