Japanese moving to northeast ohio - Help Please
willoughby is alright, has a quaint downtown with lots of restaurant/bar options kirtland is uppity for lake county, but it shares its zip 44094 with willoughby (more varied class-wise) and eastern willoughby hills (upper middle), so i'm pretty sure it's not the 2nd wealthiest zip in ohio. willoughby and kirtland are overwhelmingly white.

Cleveland: Restaurant News & Info
I hope they do well for many reasons. I agree they are very good people and they have a good product..well they need to tweak the shwarma-they may have already. Also I am a huge fan of having healthy non fast food chain options in the more impoverished areas. I hope Metro staff is giving them a try. Whenever I have been behind the scenes there it seems like the personnel loves this type of food-hummus, tabbouleh etc. always seems to be in the back rooms i'm in the pathology department at metro and we get maha's a lot.

2009 Population Estimates for Ohio Cities over 50,000
checking the lucas county auditor's site, the farms i was thinking of at hill & reynolds and hill & byrne have different owners at the moment. a lot of the open space by hill & reynolds is owned by the metroparks.

2009 Population Estimates for Ohio Cities over 50,000
cle: yeah and west park, collinwood, nottingham, miles heights (the list goes on) all used to be separate municipalities that cle annexed. tol: what i was trying to say was that tol has more people in the city limits than it would seem (smaller metro than cincy) because more people in the metro live in the city limits, percentage-wise, than cincy or cle, in part due to the annex area. there is farmland in tol city limits (annex area). is there any in cols? i don't think there is in cle.

NEO Colleges and Universities.. Where do the students of NEO Flock to?
I knew a few kids (more than I would have expected) that also went to EMU. I think the school is part of a tuition reciprocation program in which Ohio kids are allowed to pay Michigan in-state tuition to attend. Yes, and Univ of Toledo has(d) numerous billboards in the Detroit area, offering in-state tuition to several counties in SE Michigan.

me: i (and another poster) went to high school in lake county, and undergrad at case. it seems like a lot of ppl in my high school class ended up going to Eastern Michigan.

Cleveland: Young & urban neighborhoods
<broken record> if you lean indie then i suggest lakewood because you can easily ride a bike to now that's class or happy dog. </broken record> coventry is ok if you lean more toward the polo shirt (although lakewood accommodates that too with bars like mccarthy's ale house (which i live right by, but have not set foot in))

Gas Stations with Free Air
Can we make a list of gas stations that have free air available? I was in Wickliffe last weekend on my bike and the bike pump at my mom's house fell apart, so i went to the gas station at Lakeland and Worden (used to have free air) and theirs was now $1. So, right now I can only think of one: Mike's (...longer name than that...) in Rocky River on Lake Rd by the bridge to Lakewood. It "was" a BP, probably just changed signage to look independent. Any others???

Cleveland: Crime & Safety Discussion
the beer selection at ntc is extensive, ranging from pbr and black label ($1.50 apiece) to craft beers (which can be upwards of $5). beers are cheaper at ntc than happy dog. compare a $1.50 12 oz pbr at ntc to a $2.75 16 oz pbr at happy dog. often times there is cpd presence in front of ntc and the hawk next door. upping the price of admission would lead it to be a grog shop-esque experience (too sanitized).
