That is true that you have to start somewhere. Don't get me wrong, I think the streetcar will be an improvement, I just foresee all the "naysayers" causing a ruckus when the streetcars aren't as big as a success as portlands. I can see the streetcars in their first implementation being as successfull as the ones in Tampa, Wisconsin, Little Rock, etc...

Call me "debby downer" but I'm starting to get mixed emotions about the streecar project. I guess my biggest worry is that it won't be as successfull as everyone thinks it's going to be. Cincinnati's streetcar keeps being compared to Portlands, but after reading more about Portlands it's no wonder it's so successfull in that city. Portland has a University and Hospital right downtown so that alone is going to create TONS of riders. I'm just trying to think of the different scenario's that people would use it in cincinnati and I just don't see it being heavly used, esp. after the novality wears off. I can see it being used heavly during reds games for transporting people from the games to their cars, but we don't have games everyday. Now on the flip side of that, when I look at the "future expansions" of the streetcar that expand over into KY and UC that I think will be successfull. I think a streetcar line that runs from the CBD to both UC and KY(newport) would be more heavily used then from banks to findley market.

What a shame.

Wonder if this is going to slow down the project......didn't anyone do a study on the effects of the tunnel? I mean if the tunnel is unable to hold a crane, what's to say it's going to hold a building?

So that sucks that they are going to close by 7:00? I'm not familiar with Pot Belly's, but it would be nice if they where open as late as Rock Bottom or Via Vite

^I agree...it should be built on one of the surface parking lots, but the problem with that is getting the owners who own those lots to sell them. I think banks should be an option as well.

I do agree that Fountain Place is a fine building at 3 stories. Fountain Square would feel trapped if it had another tower crowding it. ^ That's a good point, I would like to see an artists rendering of what it would possibly look like.

When I first moved here I always thought that some condo's with marina's would be a nice addition to the river. Hopefully more condo's will start to include marina's.

Would like to report that we went downtown tonight around 7:30 for dinner at McFaddens. Drove around downtown after dinner and couldn't believe all the people everywhere! Downtown is on it's way up!

Just curious if it was one of the new clubs that recently opened like club bang or club red? Point being that it may hurt the clubs attendence down the road if word gets out that someone was shot outside the club.
