  1. YES! YES! YES! this is great news!
  2. These potential lawsuits suck! This means that the whole project could be delayed by another 4-5 years. What shame. I say we flood the lawyers office with emails and letters. Let's start a petition, maybe even a rally on fountain square!
  3. ^Well that's the thing......we where debaiting on wether or not we should move back to Cincinnati, or somewhere else like Philly or Baltimore, etc.....but after living in Cincy for 5 years I've grown to like it hear. 5 years ago, I would have told you that I probably would only live in cincy for 2 years at the most. My how things have changed!
  4. Wow! Putting the caps over the highway would be awesome! Even if they where just grass. I've said this a million times, but I can't wait until I come back from living in Bermuda for 2 years to see how downtown has progressed. My wife and I keep talking about living downtown when we come back in 2010.
  5. ^I still need to watch last weeks episode.
  6. Easy there booster-seat. These types of things go in cycles and are more often than not tied to some other form of criminal activity...meaning it is quite rare that innocent people get caught in the middle of this type of stuff. Booster-seat.......good one. Innocent or not innocent, crime is crime and the media will run with this as long as they can.
  7. Just announced on the radio....another shooting. Man shoot in the cheest in the West End. What's going on over their!
  8. Yes, I'm a little concerned about the streetcars going through that area. If that area doesn't get cleaned up I can see the streetcar neysayers having the last laugh.
  9. It's a shame that crime still seems to be a somewhat serious concern when talking about OTR. It's unfortunate, but it seems the only solution is to keep promoting OTR and get good law bidding citizens to move in OTR and drive the crime out. The downside is that the crime has to go somewhere so I'm sure another section of town will become the hotbed for crime.
  10. Just heard on the radio that 2 men where attacked and robbed in OTR. The two men where working on fixing up a house when robbers broke in and attacked and robbed the two men. One had to be taken to the hospital. This kind of stuff seems like it's still happening way to often in OTR. :x
  11. That's great news. In March, I'm moving overseas for 2 years and I can't wait to come back if all this (streetcars, banks, OTR) actaully happens.
  12. Good point. I would hope that the banks adds to downtown and not take away from downtown. Wonder how that's going to play out.
  13. Did a search on this on the forum and couldn't find it so I hope this isn't a repost. Anyways...founnd this on Forbes.com. Cincinnati ranked 18th for the best cities for young professionals. http://www.forbes.com/2007/06/21/cities-jobs-young-forbeslife-cx_mw_0621realestate.html
  14. I've heard several people make the comment that it's rediculous how long the banks project is suppose to take until it's finished. Well I would like to say to those people that I think it's smart the way they are doing it in phases. Once one phase is done it will attract people and build "hype" and then when the second, third, etc...phases are completed, those phases will naturally be succesfull. Rather then building it all at once and expect to fill all the spaces at once is a setup for failure.

  16. Yes. Those same people who think urban/downtown is "scary" are the same people who said casino's will bring crime, hookers, drug dealer, etc....and now look how successfull places like Lawrenceburgh, IN is.
  17. I guess the only thing that made sense that the host said was "they are rushing to pass the bank project because elections are coming up" I can see city council doing this as a positive and negative action.
  18. Some arguments where against what they were putting down their. One caller stated that it's stupid that they are putting in office spaces. Another caller stated that casinos should be placed at the banks. Another caller stated that most people don't care because they won't be around in 25 years when it's completed. One caller made the comment "who is going to go down to the banks"? and that it's going to be a waste land even with all the stuff down their. And the radio host kept saying something similar to the tune of "who really cares about the banks project"
  19. Daryl Clark's segment on WLW700 has ended and not a single POSITIVE supporter of the banks was on the air. Daryl also kept on bringing up the point that we voted down casinos in Cincinnati. What a goof.
  20. We all need to email\call Daryl Park on 700 WLW on tell him we care if the banks if built. He keeps saying that he hasn't heard anyone who cares if the banks is built.
  21. I can see that, I think that segment of 700 with Willy and Darly Parks really are against any downtown progress, at least untill the new jail is built.
  22. Surprised that every caller so far has been against the banks. Their seems to be such a division between people who support downtown and people who would rather just see downtown never progress and fail. I've lived here for 4 years now and the single fact that so many people are divided really makes me wonder if the citizens of the area as a whole will ever embrace the city.
  23. I don't understand the first caller who opposes the banks. He said that they need to start from scratch again and include casino's at the banks. If I understand correctly, gambling was on ballot and the people of cincinnati voted it down. The caller made it sound like city council voted it down, when in reallity the citizens voted it down.
  24. They are talking about the banks on WLW700 right now. They are taking calls from people soon as well.
  25. Very true....but this is at least something positive. Does anyone know how close the streetcar is suppose to run to the banks. I think it would be smart to include the streetcar plan in the banks project.
