  1. This street in Seoul is about 135 ft wide from curb to curb. 6 lanes in each direction. So about 30 feet wider than MLK. If we had this scale of buildings going that would be appropriate. But we are likely to get the 6-12 story generic urban office treatment instead. Also, that street in Seoul has really wide sidewalks, tons of street landscaping for buffering, and a subway running underneath it. It's a real pain to cross on the surface because you have to wait for two light cycles. https://www.google.com/maps/@37.5048551,127.0494974,3a,90y,241.16h,78.51t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1smJXasRFTBaR0T46gdiNXAA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656
  2. Drove through there this morning. There is definitely a new sewer pipe going in along Queen City. The new stonework looked better than I expected.
  3. Agree. The footprint here is slightly bigger than 8th and Sycamore so there is plenty of room for probably 5-6 stories of mixed-use and maybe 2-3 stories of structured parking. I don’t think we should go that tall (if I’m reading your comment correctly- 7 to 9 stories total?) The east-west view of the church steeples across OTR is pretty iconic and the Bell Center is an exclamation point to that. A taller building on the pendleton lots would threaten that. No. 5-6 tops. Mixed-use wrap around garage. Texas style.

  5. It looks like TRL and 1131 Broadway LLC are still under the Levine umbrella (mailing addresses are 322 and 324 Reading Rd). So half the lot is owned by Guy or whoever he is the intermediary for. Unless these entities have formed a partnership of sorts only half the block will be redeveloped.

Are you honestly surprised nobody uses these during a downpour? Saw a dude bite it today riding with his friends out of Findlay Market after lunch. It was raining hard and he misjudged the curb coming out of the market. He flew over the bars and onto the sidewalk. He had minor scratches but got up and kept riding.
  7. I've discussed the market in Cincinnati with some developers and real estate folks. The consensus is we are overbuilt on high-end. Also, I hear a lot of complaints about too many 1 bedrooms. Not sure if that means there is more demand for micro, or 2 and 3 bedroom apartments. Maybe both? The Cincinnati.com article is referring to it being added suddenly to tomorrows PC meeting. I read the packet addition. What is happening is it is getting the ole Port/GCRA Tax special. Once the GCRA is in the title chain, the project construction is exempt from sales tax. This is probably the change they are making to the development agreement as well. Naming the Port as the owner of part of the project. Either way, it's a good sign.
  8. If we had a Walgreens or CVS set up shop, we'll be good to go. Just have to demand an urban street fronting one that does not require any historic building demolition!

I saw this one and would have stopped but the last thing we had stopped for was coffee and you can only convince a non coffee drinking travel partner to stop for more coffee so many times. I saw this... guess I'll will just have to come back soon. Also I didn't realize Aladdin's was right next door. Can we nickname this part of OTR "Little Cleveland" ;) You'll have to call it Cleve-ville because LouVino is going in across the street!
  10. You can take a lane off Central Parkway and traffic flow would only be reduced by a few miles per hour. Oh and get rid of the 2nd left turn onto Walnut while we're at it.
  11. pointycollars[/member] had some good pics from the insides too but they were unfortunately lost after the big UO server crash a few years back.

Collective espresso for coffee. They are at Woodward and Main. Go to Rhinegeist, Findlay market, CAC is free now, Smale Riverfront Park, Covington Pike and Main area, Broadway and 12th in Pendleton. For fine dining Sotto is a great. 21c hotel. Maybe I’ll just give a tour. Ha.

The City DOTE's default position is to put its hands up in the air and exclaim they can't do anything about the cars. So they do nothing.

Or you can be this guy...
  17. Nice! Yes. Plenty of temporary measures!
  18. Or maybe convert it into a pop-up container market until they are ready to build. https://ny.racked.com/2012/6/25/7720189/dekalb-market-will-close-in-october-to-make-way-for-century-21
  19. To be expected after the most recent BizJournal article stated they need Council to approve an amendment to the development agreement.
  20. The Nashville skyline now extends almost continuously from downtown to Vanderbilt. The towers under construction will only further reinforce the concentration of density along this corridor. What is still stunning is the lack of adequate mass transit in the region. And sidewalks!
  21. Last I heard it was still moving forward. This could be a potential Phase II.
  22. I see it but the picture is full sized.
  23. At this point, this is like the great white whale of downtown development.
  24. I wonder how many people are showing up to at the Clifton Mill in Clifton, OH asking if Nippert Stadium is close by? Follow up: Of those people, how many are sticking around for the pancakes?
