  1. You have to make sure the text is after of the [/qu0te] command.
  2. There is nothing for P&G in the old building and I would think that after the whole Greenpeace thing they would like to reduce the number of possible ways into their HQ that are unnecessary.
  3. ^ Potential news headline could have been: "Locally owned Olive Garden Concept Opens at the Banks"

I find the Mayor's plan really inspirational. Lots of great things being eliminated! Who uses bike lanes anyway? Why put a grocery store back where there was one before when there are campaign contributors that can just put in condo's? Paving lanes = massive economic development, just look at Newport! Such great vision! Such bold moves! :drunk:
  5. If the Historic Tax Credits go away its definitely going to be a lot harder to redevelop buildings whether its 3CDC or not.
  6. 14th street from Elm to Main would be a better pedestrian street.
  7. There had been talk from the county about trying to do the next parking garage from Vine to Elm instead of Vine to Race along the south side of Freedom Way. I guess they decided to scale that back to just that block then.
  8. The Enquirer is so meta...
  9. I think this article gets to the heart of this kind of debate: http://streetsblog.net/2010/05/21/new-urbanist-silverback-andres-duany-and-the-young-locusts/ We need downtown to be livable. I think most urbanists account for some degree of noise, litter and some smells however everyone has a limit and its different for everyone. I just saw a friend the other day who moved out of 12th and Main because of the constant noise after 2am. Personally I think if this passes the area that is open container will look and feel like a Taste or an Oktoberfest for a while simply because its new and everyone will be down here to drink in the street. However I think at some point the novelty will wear off and things will simmer down. Also when I visited Cologne Germany, the whole city allowed drinking in the streets. I was out on a Friday and the place was packed but everyone was respectful, not really rowdy in public areas, etc. I attribute this more to the culture there more than anything. Here in the states we are so haunted by our Puritan/Quaker/Prohibitionist roots that we can't chill out as a nation on the subject matter, which in turn encourages these types of behavior.
  10. Isn't there a proposal to put an open container district at the Banks? Wouldn't that help festivals if they moved there?
  11. What is he afraid of? Quadrillion dollar condo developments!?
  12. Union Terminal to Broadway Commons would be a waste. However Union Terminal to Walnut Hills via Reading and/or Gilbert would not.
  13. Cincy is buying CAF Urbos 3 tram vehicles. CAF makes an Urbos 5 and 7 which are much longer. All are considered LRV's. We should stop trying to distinguish between light rail and streetcar here in the states, everywhere else they are trams.

    Yes!
  15. Does anyone remember the OKI BSB traffic congestion video? https://www.youtube.com/embed/N9JNFL_CzZE According to the video we should be experiencing 3 miles of congestion all the time from the bridge. I have been driving down from Dayton during rush hour to downtown almost every Friday for the last 2 months and I see this type of congestion...for the Ronald Reagan Highway! Not the bridge. Am I living in an alternate reality from OKI? Or maybe OKI is using the same travel demand simulator as Cities: Skylines?
  16. 6,200 parking spaces would be just under the amount of public parking available at the Banks parking garages when it is fully built out!
  17. Bockfest is different because there is no Grammer's to escape to anymore!
  18. That section of the West District (Central Ave) was just put in a TIF district late last year btw.
  19. That picture is exactly what they are building. The road will take out the public housing on the other side of the street and conveniently the KOI that resisted being purchased for the Ovation project. However the silver lining of the whole project is that Monmoth Street can be two-ways again.
  20. This will totally ruin the WEBN fireworks!
  21. Its a place for suburbanites to play city in.
  22. The Riverfront Transit Center is the reason why we don't see all those buses parked around the stadium on game day.
  23. Maybe they can put a 3-story building in front of the Liberty gas station?
  24. Don't forget that Liberty is supposed to have a road diet. I've heard the road diet project is on hold.
