Cincinnati: Mayor John Cranley
If the Mayor does anything that is remotely considered "urbanist" its purely by accident or for political cover (like bike share).

Hamilton County Politics
Lets put early voting and all our service agencies in the middle of nowhere surrounded by a sea of asphalt parking... Brilliant! The only way Mt. Airy works is if they preserve the front end customer related departments in a downtown location while moving the back offices to the hospital.

Cincinnati: Clifton Heights: U Square @ the Loop
I posted the pics above because while I think its not worth it to lament the loss of the fast food restaurants that used to occupy the block and maybe even parts of Inn the Wood, the old townhomes were pretty cool buildings that would have added a lot of character if they were preserved.

JYP replied to buildingcincinnati's post in a topic in Architecture, Environmental, and PreservationYep. There needs to be an effort to save at least the facade of that building and incorporate it into the new HQ.- Cincinnati Streetcar / The Connector News
^ Is this an ordinance? How did they get away with doing utility relocation work last year if this is something that is done annually?- Glass Block is Terrible

^ Yes. That is the infamous beer garden. 3CDC owns the building. Probably will be part of a later phase of the Gateway Quarter.- Cincinnati: Bicycling Developments and News
Red Bike launched yesterday. Anyone use it yet?- Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
This pizza chain seems to defy the Mecklenborgian Pizza Economics Model! :-P- Cincinnati: Downtown: The Banks
Carter has to build the office and hotel by May 2015 or they lose the development rights to that part of the project. I think they are at the point where they will do whatever it takes to get these two components started by then. As for the garages the county applied to the state for $15 million in funding a few months ago. I don't think that moved forward. While it will look good having all this construction activity for the All-Star Games, it will also be a pain to navigate with streets closed down, parking removed for construction and no streetcar to help ferrying attendees from other downtown garages to the game.- Cincinnati: Restaurant News & Info
I was at Fireside on Friday. There was some confusion, which is common for a restaurant that is in the soft open phase. When I arrived there were maybe six people in the seating area. However as the night progressed it filled up pretty quickly. The open doors in the front are a great feature. I'm looking forward to the restaurant being a cornerstone of the redevelopment of the McMillian corridor. They are doing their Grand Opening during the Walnut Hills Street Food Festival on Sept. 27. Definitely not doomed by any means.- Greater Cincinnati Metro (SORTA) and TANK News & Discussion
I successfully used a stored value card from Metro on the TANK operated Southbank Shuttle to get back to Cincinnati from Covington this Sunday. The machine deducted the proper $1 fare. Worked like a charm!- Detroit: Transit News

OTCH is rehabbing that vacant building next to Salazar.- Bros
Yep. I too have witnessed this crowd transition at Neon's. Usually on a Saturday night between 5:30 to 7. Its like one minute you're around ten people you know from the neighborhood and the next the pedal wagon arrives with the bros and woo-girls and everyone you know leaves!- Cincinnati: Bicycling Developments and News
