Dicks looks like it is ready to open or already is open. The place is a traffic nightmare during the lunch hour.
  2. In November 13th Street in OTR was converted from one-way to two-way from Vine to Main Street. Its made a huge difference.

People are driving less so of course the solution is to build more roads! Genius.

    ^Yes, sadly.

^Yep. That one block on Liberty and Linn is all that remains.

That public housing actually comes from 1937. Named Lincoln Court and Laurel Homes, they were the second oldest public housing projects in the nation.

This is what we lost: a sprawling urban city that spanned to the base of Price Hill. All for some trashy office parks, a highway and light industrial crud. Yes that is Crosley Field in the upper far right.
  8. Mr. Deatrick is still project manager.

No there was supposed to be Fort Washington Way and a similar highway along the Ohio river in Covington and Newport. The idea was to have an expressway loop on both sides of the river. Truly horrific stuff. The old West End, also known as Kenyon Barr was systematically demolished in the 60's to make way for Queensgate Phases I and II. City code changed in the late 1950's requiring each housing unit to have its own bathroom. At the time many multi-families were set up like college dorms with shared bathrooms. This and other conditions led the city to declare the entire neighborhood blighted and allowed for the condemnation of all the buildings. A photo archive of the area still exists via the Cincinnati Public Library.
  10. Looks like the Empress Chili in Hartwell closed down. So now only the Alexandria KY location is open. UPDATE: Looks like there is still one on Werk Rd. in the masterfully designed Glenway Crossings shopping center!
  11. Joe Webb of Channel 12 saying on twitter there are 6 votes to continue construction. This is coming from Winburn so take it for what its worth...
  12. They should do something creative to mask that garage.
  13. Yes Cranley can kill it without 6 votes.
  14. Not all of the 60+ crowd hang in the retirement home resenting the fact that their kids do not visit them often. I had the pleasure of hearing many great speakers from the older crowd testifying in support of the streetcar this week. The opposition is trying to pin the streetcar as a toy for the hipster youth of OTR but the reality is that the streetcar is for all ages.
  15. I am not sure the bus can navigate that corner of Ludlow and Clifton Ave.
  16. Cranley has stated he is in favor of grade separated bike ways but not in favor of bikes in mixed traffic. I am not sure if he is against bike lanes or cycle tracks.
  17. This is just a general reminder from the management that this is a public board and these messages are viewable to the general public. That includes opponents of the streetcar. You can post whatever you want within reason of course, but just remember that this board is monitored.
  18. Let it go John Cranley, streetcars gonna happen.
  19. While there are no official numbers out I would suspect it was Kevin Flynn who loaned his own campaign over $168,000.
  20. It's ripe for the Drop Inn Center!

  25. If Cranley is elected Cincinnati will be the world leader of cancelled transit projects. What a great reputation to have...
