Cleveland: Lakefront Development and News
One silver lining about FEB being postponed is that modifications can be made to better incorporate this into the port area. If, for instance, the grander vision of the Pesht development happened with the street grid being extended up to the lakefront, then you could have a more cohesive downtown. I know, lots of ifs.

I can't tell from the rendering, but does the RR spur go directly through the HJ property?

If Chris Kennedy was just trying to save face the PD would have been all over him about it. The reporter would have provided his recording of the conversation, or interview other people in the room to prove he did not take those quotes out of context. What has the PD said about the letter? Silence. Which if further proof that the PD is just out to kill this project. Why else would they twist his words so egregiously to make it sound like he was insulting Cleveland. I hope the PD’s silence continues.

you know, if the port is relocated along with the marina, it might be a great place for condos

Interesting read, simultaneously condesending and complimentary. I liked it.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
My guess is the Mayor and the other mayors were at the Convention Center to promote the Rock Hall show and knew the media would ask about CC/MM. He may have just tried to get ahead of the reporters.

Cleveland: Local Media News & Discussion
It is ironic that an article about an "out of towner" complaining about how out of whack negative the local media is, has a paragraph with an out of whack negative rip on the city.

Is downtown Cleveland a better place than 10 years ago?
Euclid Ave has been reconstructed via Healthline Downtown residents have quintupled (source: Mayor McCleveland) Is RTA rapid use the same, better or worse than it was in 1999 What about the number of downtown workers?

Is downtown Cleveland a better place than 10 years ago?
^It was written 10 years ago about a plan for the future few years. It is relevent because it was a plan to cure what ailed 1998 Cleveland

Is downtown Cleveland a better place than 10 years ago?
^^I am trying to find quantifiable data rather than people's opinions. For instance pro: Vacancy rate of lower Eulcid Ave is down Con: Dillards is closed Pro: Cavs drawing better crowds Con: Indians drawing fewer crowds Pro: People live downtown! I want a kick a$$ letter ready with FACTS to go the next time the PD tries to knock the city. Besides, it is nice to see how far we have come in a decade.

Since the PD started this discussion, lets see look at the data and judge for ourselves. Here is an article I stumbled across while researching this idea. Please contribute any random facts, good or bad, in order to measure the area. Session Summary -- November 2, 1998 Patricia Burgess Ruth Durack Edward W. Hill From Re-imaging the Rust Belt to "Whose downtown is it, anyway?" Distorting the Cleveland Development Model Cleveland in the late 1970s appeared to be falling apart, losing 30 percent of its total employment. Today it's called "comeback city" and has won five All American City Awards. It was featured as a place where corporate leadership saved a sick city. Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Well...back to the PD On Cleveland.com that same lawsuit artice is back on top of the page under the headline "Where to build the Medical Mart" Does the PD choose the headlines for cleveland.com? If so, the Sunday editorial may have just been cover, they may still be pushing a move to TC.
-
Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Thank you for providing that editorial. Was that from last Sunday? I really feel a hatchet job from the PD on the reputation and personal integrity of Chris Kennedy. I honestly feel that some of the power that be at the PD / DCP would rather kill the MM to keep the CC at Tower City. I don't think the same from the rank and file.

well, based on the rest of the column, I am sure they picked out the juiciest quotes from Hagan.
