Cleveland nightshotz - Feb. 7, 2008
Don't worry. When K&D are done there will be more pedestiran plazas with much desired greenspace breaking up those superblocks :| Great Shots KJP! One day when I am really bored, I want to compile before and after shots of E 4th. Maybe I will wait until Euclid Avenue is done. Wait, am I typing outloud? Sorry

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
Seriously, can anyone think of an example that FEB/Eaton can strive to be like? I never really paid attention, but does the Arena district in Cbus do a good job with offices mixed in?

Then why is everyone ready to jump off a ledge before we see any renderings? (BTW, where in Chicago?)

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
There has to be an example, somewhere in the world, where a company was able to integrate a group of buildings into an urban context.

Columbus: University District: South Campus Gateway
groan because they don't explicitly say it where the targeted area is. I understand that CP should not tip its hand and have people buy on speculation. However, the original plan for Gateway was to build a smaller Gateway near Lane and High once the South Campus Gateway was completed. So does that mean CP will once again "clean up" north campus they way the "cleaned up" south campus? I don't know, thus the groan.

Cleveland: Downtown: East 4th Street Developments
^^Just wondering. The original one in Chicago appears to do gangbusters. I just hope they also do well in Cleveland. Ever since they closed the V lounge, I got a little nervous. I also wonder if they have benefited from E 4th, which would be my hunch.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
Has there been any hint that this could be delayed because the interbelt may have to be shut down. This is purely speculation on my part, but it just seems so out of left field (now traffic studies show crazy tie ups). Maybe the innerbelt bridge is in poorer shape than originally thought, in light of the twin cities bridge collapse. Like I said, pure speculation on my part. Just wondering if anyone has heard anything of the sort.

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
So with a Dem in the governor's mansion we get more screwed by ODOT? State says West Shoreway plan's unfeasible; city disagrees Posted by Tom Breckenridge January 25, 2008 20:12PM Categories: Impact, Traffic The grand vision of turning the West Shoreway into a tree-lined boulevard faces a scaled-back reality because of traffic and funding issues, state transportation officials say. But frustrated city officials say they'll not let go of the dream -- converting a harsh, 50 mph highway to a 35 mph street and adding intersections, finally affording West siders direct access to Edgewater Park and the lakefront.

I think a better Columbus example might be the Arena district, there is a lot of office space down there along with the other crap

Cleveland: Flats East Bank
^Would it more isolate an Eaton campus or more integrate it?
-
Cleveland: Flats East Bank
If it is a corporate campus, why couldn't it be integrated into the development? Eaton's biggest competetors, Parker Hannifin and Allen Bradley have campus type headquarters, maybe that just works better for that industry rather than a skyscraper. BTW, Parker left the city to go to a blob off of I-271 when they built their new HQ earlier this decade. Looking at the picture, it looks like there are three open plots within the "loop" Any one of them looks like it would fit into the development nicely. Or am I missing something?

^Yeah, it was like her editor read it and sent it back because all PD articles must have, at minimum, one dig on the city of Cleveland.
