So, if Wolstien gets all east bank properties, will Larry Flint find his way up to the warehouse district? :|

Requests/Suggestions for Houston
The Sambuca restuarant in the Rice Hotel (Main & Texas) was OK. State Street bar above it was cool, but I don't think they have food

I saw that in the '80's. It has to include the river. I am surprised ColDayMan has not pissed all over the good Cleveland stats yet. Jokingly, of course.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
I agree 100% The IX center is a reason people in the community have been reluctant to invest in a new CC, because we have that half-assed solution. Still, to me it proves Cleveland can still draw large shows since some still come to Cleveland despite what you listed above. Think how many more would if all of those conditions were met.

Some of the big shows still go to the IX center.

^Do you really think so Pope? I would think Cleveland and Detroit's pull on each other end at Sandusky. But, then again, I am not a hotel industry expert

Cleveland: HealthLine / Euclid Corridor
I think 1% for public art is still the law for federal or state construction right??

^On TV and in movies bad things always happen in parking garages. That is my vote.

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Hey Cleveland, lets turn our back on the lake for another century! Also, lets not forget the one tourist attraction that eveyone in the world knows us for, the Rock Hall! Most out of towners for a convention would love to swing by there.

KJP, what are you talking about, they have the international destination of Easton, the eigth wonder of the world. (sorry, had to throw one in)

Cleveland: Downtown: Convention Center Atrium & Expansion
Well it would be nice if the CC was built at TC. That way all of the out of town conventioneers would never actually have to step outside of Ratner owned land and actually have to walk amongst Clevelanders. I mean, just the thought of it.

Cleveland: Ohio City: Development and News
at least Ignatius is not displacing the poor this time. I used to wonder if Jesus Christ, a poor foster kid of a skilled tradesman would be able to attend a Jesuit school. OK rant over

OK, well then, I promise my gun will only shoot blanks....wait, well never mind. Here is a presentation from the Cleveland Restoration Society, that puts the group plan and the Convention center into context. http://www.clevelandrestoration.org/GroupPlanPresentation.pdf

Cleveland: Help me find a job
^Chicago also has a TON more people seeking all of those job opportunities. Trust me, on average I think you have an easier time getting a good job in Cleveland than you do in Chicago, unless you know an alderman.

Cleveland: Flats Developments (Non-Stonebridge or FEB)
To be fair to the industrial side.... I have heard of places that are cool, for whatever reason, and people want to live near it. Then more and more people want to live there, because that is the new area of town. Suddenly, the reason it was a draw for people, becomes a problem for the second or third wave of people, who spent all sorts of money to live in the hot new area. Then they complain about the problem and have the "problem" removed from their community. I know of this from bars and entertainment areas, but I think the possibility exists in the Flats as well. But the K&D guys know what they are doing, so I think they will, in time, be able to put the industrial owners minds to rest.

Campbell used the spector of the convention center going to Tower City in the last days of the campaign, saying that Jackson had more or less promised it to the Ratners. Lots of things are said in campaigns, though. So the Medical Mart is a year round display area for medical merchandise, sort of like the furniture department of a department store. Too bad Forest City does not have an empty department store sitting on its property that could be easily linked to a new convention center, say at the the southeast corner.....

Cleveland: Shoreway Boulevard Conversion
I don't know Craig, but he seems to be in charge of a lot of things I don't like, such as the half-assed interbelt, and now a half-assed West Shoreway. I am sure he is a great person, but I kind of want to punch him.
