Cleveland's Roldo
So, to sum up what I read of Roldo today it was something like, Cleveland is dying, and all of the new projects are just the same as urban renewal in the 60's/70's and whatever happens Cleveland will fail. I assume what I did not read went something like, if you do not live below the poverty line you should be shot. The good thing is it seems like he is becoming more desperate to get people to believe that Cleveland is a suburb of hell

Greater Cleveland RTA News & Discussion
^Is there a station that can only serve two cars? In Chicago they could double the amount of cars on the Ravenswood line but some of the platforms can only handle a small number of cars.

I think I have only been there once since the new owners took over, it may have lost some charm. It had poured the absolute best pint of Guinness in town.

Columbus: University District: South Campus Gateway
Campus Partners always uses Stephanie Hummers dissapearance as thier justificaiton to tear down South Campus. Now when a student was last seen on South Campus then they take down fliers that try to help locate him. New Information in Student's Disappearance Apr 18 2006 6:36AM . Shaffer, a medical student at OSU, disappeared after visiting a campus bar on April 1. Campus partners doesn't allow paper bulletins on the newly rennovated strip of High Street but the group says it will post the missing fliers in "strategic" locations and will create missing posters to mount on sandwich boards. Randy Schaffer says he feels like Campus Partners is more worried about its image than Brian's welfare.[/b] If you have any information on Brian Shaffer's disappearance call Crimestoppers at 645-TIPS (8477). more at www.thelantern.com

This is actually a true Irish Pub. I heard about this as well. Everything they put in the place is imported from Ireland Funny story, a while ago when my brother just started running sales at Great Lakes and Fado was about to open, he took my Mom down to meet the GM with a small group for a tour just before the place opened. While they were waiting for him my Mom and brother looked at the menu. My Mom is from County Mayo (like 90% of Cleveland Irish) and this GM guy was all exited to show her everything they imported from Ireland. "this fireplace came from a convent in County Clare, and these chairs came from a school in County Kildare" This guy was beaming, he could not be happier or more proud. At about this time my Mom, who is nuts, asks my brother as loud as she wanted to be "Did they import everything from Ireland? That was daft, they make perfectly fine furniture in America! No wonder they have to overprice all of their food. This place won't last one year" My brother said the GM's face just melted. Moral of the story: These "authentic" Irish pubs, with all of the etched glass and expensive floors would only exist in Ireland to cater to the land barons such as Lord Sligo. If you want a real Irish pub experience, try Moriarty's on E. 6Th.

Ohio: GM, Ford, and Chrysler News & Info
Good news for Brook Park. The plant in Chicago I supply shuts down one week a month. We will be shut down the entire month of July (usually automotive plants shut down for two weeks in July to re-tool). Come October they will slow down the line speed, which means they will make less cars, which means they will lay people off. I am doing EVERYTHING in my power to keep expenses down here so we don't have to lay people off.

Back in '95 they were trying to figure out where they were going to move to because Lord Hall was going to be demolished within two years...... It aint going anywhere

The Ohio State University Buckeyes Football Discussion
That is just plain bad I guess Nike figured every Buckeye fan already had a football jersey, so to sell more they went with a "new" jersey Screw Nike I am not sure but I think Campus Partners was behind this

I just hope whatever they build, it does not look like the generic Crocker Park / OSU Gateway / every other "mixed use" center built in the past 8 years
