To me, he personifies the whole idea that Cleveland will never succeed, why bother to try anything because we will always fail because we are Cleveland. fuck that

I have moved 12 times in the past 5 years, and this system always works for me. Go to the neighborhood that you think you would like, find a cool tavern or pub, tell the bartender that you are moving to town and you are looking for apartments. Service industry folks have a knack for finding cool places that are rather inexpensive. If you are looking around the Short north, try Mac's cafe, Betties and Brian Boru's. Those places have a ton of regulars, so the bartenders would know if anyone has a place for rent, or if they are soon moving out. Mac's is at 693 N. High, Betties is across the street, next to the Short North Tavern, and Boru's is south of Macs by a block The area rentals is a bit dominated by the OSU calander, so you are looking a bit off season Also, does Columbus have a craigslist, columbus.craigslist.org ? You can find some apartments for rent there. Besides the Short North, I think Grandview is a great place If you go to Mac's tell them Punch (or Punchin' Pat) sent you

Well, since Roldo was bitching about Jackson in the last article, I feel a bit better about the mayor-elect
  6. How do the pedestrian bridges get out of the way of river traffic? Are they built like the pedestrian bridges over the freeway?
  7. the electronics were not protected from the enviroment from what I heard. There was standing water submerging the controls. That is what the owner of Mac's told me I never really liked them, but it is a shame that they never had the chance to win me over.

Tell me about this guy. I know not everyone involved with White was a crony, but they were certainly the majority of his staff.
  9. Slipping away Linked articles » Developer unveils bold blueprint for Flats office » Flats plan on approval fast track » Wolstein's Flats plan moves forward By BRANDON GLENN 3:12 pm, December 8, 2005 While some business owners in the Flats dream of grandiose development projects, a far more mundane matter threatens the area along the banks of the Cuyahoga River, they say. Bulkheads, which are retaining walls that prevent soil erosion and keep the river navigable, are aging and in need of replacement or repair, according to members of the Flats Oxbow Association, a group of area business owners. Well, maybe we could leak the RTA info to Cool Cleveland, since they seem to be effectively putting ODOT's feet to the fire.

  15. ^ worked at Parker right after graduation, they sent me to a 10 week training class along with everyone else they hired that year. On the last day of the training, we were all layed off over the phone. That has been the only job in my life I have not been asked to return to. I cleaned out my desk on 9/10/01, and was set to start my job search the next day. Those plans went to hell. Still bitter :-)
  16. Cleveland State University - BS in Computer Engineering I work as an embedded software engineer in Mayfield Hts for an industrial automation controls supplier. I want to eventually get my Masters in Software Engineering at CSU. hey Dan AB or Parker. Parker is evil.....
  17. What about BRT? or is it too close to the red line?
  18. I remember at one time Mike White had some sort of panel of experts make recomondations about modernizing and turning the West Side Market into more of a tourist attraction. Their recomondation was simple, do nothing! I am glad White listened. I know the WSM and the NM are not exactly the same, but it should not try to change to compete with Whole Foods, it has to keep a unique character, or it will lose to Whole Foods
  19. I wonder which developer he was talking about? Hope it is not Wolstien.
  20. Well, just to be cynical, all the enviromental engineers I know are hired by companies to get around enviromental laws. Maybe Frank wants someone full time on regionalism to make sure his earlier fears don't come true. And the good press does not hurt. One of these days I will get around to giving this guy a chance, he just seems very different than the council president of the past four years.

I like the idea of pressuring for a tunnel, for the simple fact that ODOT seems to be aways trying to bargin with the community, you want this but we can only give you that. So lets freakin ask for the moon, so when they back off we will have a better plan than what they are giving us now
  22. Anyone heard a date for Lola's to open?
  23. Send this to the convention and visitors bureau
  24. Anyone been to Tremont lately, most of the businesses have the leg lamp in the front window
  25. I honestly did not know that the Forest City store on St. Clair had anything to do with Forest City enterprises. I remember being about 3 years old going there with my Mom. (Actually I vividly remember being mad at her because I had to go to the bathroom and she would not let me use any of the dozens of toilets just sitting there on the floor :-) )
